These are simply fantastic! Finally, a pair of cleats that are lightweight but tough, easy to put on, take off. They beat anything else out there. I am so pleased. I live on Lake Superior; need I say more? There is lots of ice here. And spring conditions can be hazardous! These were the answer to my "in a perfect world" pair of cleats. Get them. Do not bother with any of the others. I am retired and broke but my health and staying upright at my age is worth every penny!

After much comparisons of the YakTrax and the MICROspikes, I went with the MICROspikes, as they seemed to have better durability based on customer reviews. I've used them running on snowy and muddy trails, and walking around slippery winter streets. They're great! I feel like I could climb a wall with these things on! I do think they're best used on trails and cross-country, unless you've got a thick ice patch to walk across on cement. I worried about dulling the spikes when the ice got pretty thin or disappeared in patches altogether, leaving me walking on just the pavement. YakTrax would be better for that situation, in my humble opinion. These slipped on and off easily, but stayed well-put for a 4 mile run on snowy and muddy trails. You just need to remember to lift your feet a little higher, or you can trip on the spikes (or maybe it's just klutzy me!).

These are the absolute best traction spikes. They go onto your shoes easily, and last a long time. This is my second pair, and I walk about 4-5 miles a day in them in the winter. The first pair lasted a few years until I came down hard on an exposed rock and broke a metal link.

These are great and really keep you stable during ice and snow events! They are easy to slip onto your snow shoes and feel very natural. A real lifesaver when you have to walk around on snow and ice.

This is the one that everyone should have in their bag or purse during ice cold season. No more worries.

Have to admit that I haven't actually used these on the trail, yet. I first saw them being used by other hikers on a trip into Grand Canyon last January. After watching them in use, seeing the ease with which they went on and off and hearing hikers speak highly of the traction they provide, had to get some for myself. They are very easy to put on and seem much more secure on my boots than other traction devices (Yaktrax & Stabilicers Lite) that I've used. The chains on the bottom are much less likely to fail than the rubber on Yaktrax (have had the steel coils cut thru the rubber when walking on rocky sections of trail). Looking forward to giving them a workout.

Lived up to their high ratings on various internet sites. Relatively easy to stretch on, and very easy to take off. Held well in ice and 6-8" of snow, and on soft trails and rocks. Spikes are very durable, even if walking across asphalt. If you are between sizes on the sizing chart, go for the smaller one as it will stretch for a tighter fit.

The micro spikes are the best for outdoors hiking in icy conditions. Take it from someone who slides all over the place when hiking in winter. My micro spikes are a necessity!

I have tried several traction devices and these are the best by far! They fit over your boot, not just around the edge so they stay on securely. The flexible chain link design sheds snow build up better than others. They perform best on packed snow and ice where snowshoes aren't needed. I now have two sets, one for me and one to loan out.

These Microspikes give one the confidence to tackle almost any slippery situation. I owned Yaxtrax before and never did feel the same level of confidence. I would recommend the Microspikes to anyone that wants a quick and easily applied traction device.

These are absolutely outstanding for traction on ice and hard pack snow. They fit perfectly over trail shoes and boots...I use mine on Montrail running shoes. They really dig in for superior traction on even the slickest surface. The only downfall is that they do not work well if there is a combo of ice and dry pavement as the latter will quickly wear down the micro-spikes.

Very happy with the product. First use was while shoveling my icy driveway. No slipping. Can’t wait to try them on an icy trail! Only comment is do not wear them on concrete floor since they will not grip on the smooth hard surface.

Great product, very well made. We actually use them for employees who walk in slick mud on slight incline/declines during the wet weather. Our employees love them and we feel our productivity has increased as their mobility has also increased. Sorry haven't used on the ice or snow.

Bought these for my treks to the dog park. They have exceeded my expectations! They are relatively easy to put on even while standing up. They have made walking through/on snow, ice, and melting snow very secure. I thought I would be using them only when there is ice. I was wrong. They make walking in all winter conditions more comfortable and secure. I am so glad I bought them.

The Kahtoola MICROspikes are amazing. They were a life saver for my husband who has to work outdoors in extreme weather in the winter. The bonus is that they are so easy to put on and take off, and back on again… They are a must-have for anyone that lives, works or plays in weather where icy conditions are present. We just love them!

Great for the heavy stuff - I really like these MICROspikes. I've had them going on my 3rd winter this year, and they work great in heavy packed snow or ice. However, if you walk a lot to and from work in the city, they do have one issue. By the 2nd or 3rd day after a winter storm, the majority of people have their sidewalks shoveled. In this situation where the sidewalks are mostly clear, but you want something for the black ice and lazy bums' sidewalks, the MICROspikes are a little too aggressive for cleaned sidewalks. The spikes wear pretty fast in these conditions. I would suggest a pair of regular shoe chains for those conditions.

Versatile size - I fit these over my Sorel Glaciers and was happily surprised how well it just stretched around that huge boot. Great on ice and even an inch or two of snow on the trail. Also the chains fit around the cleats on the Glacier well so the cleats on the boot could also get traction.

Micro Spikes deliver on what they were intended for: improved traction on the trails in snow and ice. The spikes are not the equal of and cannot replace Crampons on difficult steep ice, but they do give excellent traction for many (I would say even most) trail conditions that the average hiker will encounter. They grip better than Stableicers on the trail. However, Stableicers would be a better choice for certain mixed conditions such as snow on trail and dry ledges. Stableicers are also better for sidewalk and driveway use such as shoveling snow. Kudos to Zappos for delivery. I made the order at 6:30 PM on a Tuesday and they arrived at 3:00 PM the next day by regular shipping. You can't beat that.

Year round northwest traction! A tough winter in the northwest is giving us summer snowpack and major stream/river crossings through summer. These weigh more than the other popular animal named option, but these do so much more and they stay in place. Good for slippery log/rock crossing over roaring glacial melt, and they let you scramble like a mountain goat over the compacted summer snowfields. Good on ice too of course. Durable and they grip on EVERYTHING, rock, ice, snow, wood. NO hesitation to recommend them. Would be nice if they were lighter, but worth it for durability.

Do you like winter hiking? If so you need these - I think this is my favorite item in my pack right now. It is cake taking these things on and off. The traction is better than any other of the medium weight traction devices like YakTrax and stabilicers (they won't replace crampons, but they will allow you to use them less often). I went out on a hike last weekend and we all had microspikes, we were either wearing them or snow shoes the whole time and we all agree the traction is incredible. I have even seen these work in places where I would previously only be comfortable with full crampons. Well worth the money!

Feel Good and a good fit - I like the service I received in receiving my crampons. I have yet to use them but have tried them on my trail runners. The fit was great. I m taking them out to hike the PCT so will see if I need to use them in the next couple months.

Love the Kahtoola's - I replaced my other traction devices (named after an animal) with these, and there is no comparison. The Kahtoola's are far superior. The other's started falling apart after the first hike, and continued every hike following. These cost more but are definitely worth the difference. They go on and off quickly and easily, so no problem changing with the terrain. The grip is solid and secure, and I've had no problem with them coming off my boots as I had with the others. I will recommend them with confidence.

Kahtoola's MICROspikes - These are great! They are of sturdy construction and will not be left on the mountain or trail like I have done other less adequate items due to deteriorating in use! These are substantial and will certainly do the job. Like chains on a car tire. These MICROspikes will always be in my pack!

Terrific little things - These worked very well in a combination of deep soft snow, ice, and bare ground. Also, they're quick and easy to get on and off and not hard to carry.
