Very comfortable and light as a feather. Great for lounging or driving, but not a walking shoe due to its lightweight materials. I remember this shoe from the 1970s, it was a very trendy, popular, and stylish tennis shoe. But I don't think this shoe is suitable anymore for sports -- it is for casual wear. The comments about the shoes wearability would also indicate that this is not a good shoe for long walks. Wear them indoors and driving, and I think you'll be very pleased with them.

Shame on Tretorn for ruining this classic shoe. Same styling as always, but the quality is now similar to the cheapest canvas shoe on the market. Seriously, I once bought a pair of $4 shoes at a street market under a bridge in Johannesburg that were better made than these. Tretorn has squeaked by for years based on a small but loyal following who were fans of this shoe (does anyone care or even know that they make other products?), but who is going to shell out this much for this junk? If you really must have these, at least wait until they've got them on clearance at $25 or so.

The canvas is so thin that when the first time I wore them, they got rained on, and the color of my socks showed all the way through. The supposed benefit of canvas sneakers is that they're washable, but after the first wash, they were shredded in the machine. I got one wear out of these paper-like shoes. (My Converse and Vans however, have endured several washes over the years and still look fresh.)

Great looking summer shoe. Canvas upper breathes quite well for a sneaker. Sole is very comfortable. I'm between a 9 1/2 and 10 in shoe size. 9 1/2 are definitely the better fit for me with Nylites. Only complaint is that the toe is on the narrow side, otherwise would have given a 5 in comfort, style and overall rating.

The perfect summer shoe, the all white nylite goes with anything and keeps things modern. I find myself wearing them all the time, with a swimsuit to jeans and a blazer. Spot cleans much easier than most canvas shoes I've had in the past, and unlike others, Tretorns are not prone to coming unglued from the rubber sole with wear. Perfect weight and hugs your foot, not big and bulky and at all. The all white also makes you look more tan, even someone from Seattle like myself, who's just now getting some sun. Only drawback is that white will show some scuffs, but looks better worn in, or you can easily wash them out.

I have not worn a pair of Tretorns in over 20 years. I have been looking at these for a while as nice summer canvas shoes. I wear a size 13 and unfortunately, these are at least a size too small. Too bad they do not make 13½. Unfortunately, I will be returning them tomorrow.

Wear these awhile and you will appreciate why they were the working shoes of tennis professionals. They are always comfortable and always a great fit and still something that stands out in the crowd. No other pair of kickers have ever come close.

I was very disappointed in these shoes. I wore Tretorns consistently for a couple of years in my teens and then got away from them for a while. I was happy to find them again and was really hoping they could be my go-to casual shoe for the summer. While I didn't expect them to be exactly as I remembered, I did expect them to be close but they definitely were not. The construction is incredibly cheap on them these days. The canvas is thin, there is none of the sole padding or ankle padding that they used to have, the soles are a harder but seemingly less substantial compound than they used to be, and the Tretorn loop on the side is made of thin, shiny plastic that feels like it will tear away from the stitching very easily. The best way I can describe them is that the new Tretorns they look and feel like knockoffs of the Tretorns you remember. If you've never had any, you might be satisfied with these but wonder why people make a big deal about them. If you've worn them in the past, don't order them -- you'll only be disappointed. As for Zappos, great service as always.

I bought two pairs of this sneakers because of the rave reviews on Zappos. I'm returning one pair and got a refund for another. 1. Because the sneakers are made of fabric, after about 2 weeks of wear, they will likely stretch for a full size bigger. After about a month of wear, I feel like I was a pair of flip flops because the back of the shoe was falling off. And this is for a pair that felt just right on day one. 2. The stitching about an inch long felt apart after about a month of wear. Zappos issued a refund for this. 3. After about a month of wear, the sole supporting the ball of my foot wore a hole. No kidding, there's a hole in the sole. I found the hole because I found a few of my socks also had holes in them. I'm pretty sure the pair I got is not normal because this item has a perfect review when I bought them. But I'm returning the pair I haven't opened because the pair I did wear is so disappointing.

These shoes are super! I get a lot of positive comments like..."Those are great old school kicks" and "cool color combination." I love them. Slight squeaking when I walk but, otherwise, great.

I think these sneaks are comfortable, stylish, and retro. My dad used to wear these in the '70s to play tennis, so I feel like I am continuing the tradition by purchasing a pair for myself.

I used to buy these shoes in the '80's and loved them. They haven't changed and I still love them. They are well made and comfy, plus I can throw them in the wash and let them air dry. I will keep buying them.

The best internet site for ordering ANYTHING. The convenience is unmatched. The shipping in both directions paid by Zappo's no matter what you need is jaw-droppingly cool! The Customer Service has been very helpful in solving sizing concerns. I love this place. I ordered Tretorn Nylite Canvas tennis shoes. I hadn't ordered these shoes in 20 years. They are okay for what I use them for. They have little, if an, arch support - but they are okay and they look good. I wish you carried the leather version, as well.

Not quite as undersized as Puma's...but if you normally where a size 13 you should order a 14. Also, fits wider than Adidas and Puma.

The quality of these shoes was decent. However the size 10½ that I ordered was half to a whole size too small.

Tretorn cut corners with the Nylite during the past few years (circa 2009 - early 2011). Those shoes have a plain canvas lining, not terry-cloth. The canvas was off-white rather than white, white. The collar padding was removed, so just stitching remained around the collar. The rear heel top was lowered, making it more likely one's foot will slip out when playing tennis/racquetball/handball. Also, laces are low-cost now and the soft arch support is gone. HOWEVER, the summer 2012 colors (which aren't white) have the old terry-cloth lining, have some padding in the collar, and the colors are nice and bright. Laces are still low-cost and the arch support is still missing, but these are definitely an improvement over the past few years. Curiously, the best Tretorn Nylites now are the Big Kid versions, rather than the Adult versions. The big kid versions are very much like the ones from the 70s/80s/90s. If one has a smaller foot size, that is the best way to go. So one needs to look VERY closely at the specific color/shoe before deciding whether to buy. Luckily, this is easy with Zappos. As always, the toe box is a bit narrow. So folks who wear thick tennis socks or have wider (D/E/EE) feet probably should go up a half-size. Women with a B width or Men with a C width can probably go with their normal size.

Shoes are light and simple. Some of the stitching has already pulled out in my few weeks of wearing them. Also, the white canvas got dirty pretty quickly. But, overall, I like them as a everyday summer shoe option.

Warning - these are not the Tretorn Nylites of even 10 years ago. All the padding has been removed. More like a Converse low top. Almost false advertising by Tretorn. Very disappointed. High praise for Zappos, on the other hand! Great, fast service.

A classic style for a reason. These shoes are a great fit, light weight and sturdily constructed. A great fit for knocking around on the weekend.

I have been buying and wearing these Tretorn canvas sneakers for over 15 years. I am very sad to say that the quality has greatly deteriorated in the last two to three years. The very comfortable padding was taken out and now I find the rubber soles come partially unglued from the canvas top after two or three washes (this did not used to happen). And the top area around the ankle seems to fray more quickly. I have been looking for an attractive and comfortable alternative sneaker but no success as yet. These were great sneakers and the manufacturer has made a very bad decision to lower quality to save and/or make more money. The quality should have been maintained and (if necessary) the price increased.

I love these sneakers. They have simple, retro appeal and look sharp when white. I'm still learning how to keep white canvas sneakers clean. I've bought two pairs just to make sure I can still get these when my current pair wear out. They have a really comfortable fit. The canvas is soft and conforms to my foot well. The fit and finish of the blue detail is not so great. The threading frayed after a few months of infrequent wear. The paint has started chipping away from the eyes which is disappointing. Still, these blemishes provide some character. If they were better made, I'd give it 5 stars all around.

I usually wear a size 10.5. I ordered an 11.5 according to a review stating they run really small. They were a size too big. Order to your normal size.

Shoe is true to size. Thanks to Zappos for carrying this style as I've had a hard time locating it.
