Save your money - I'm here in Palos Verdes, CA and I like to start summer with a new pair of shoes I can wear without socks. I've had Sperry topsiders before and thought this new style with air passing through the material would be interesting to keep my toes cool in summer. Wrong. Not enough air gets through or out. My toes are still hot and hot means sweating and sweating means stinky. And size 10, which is my normal size, seems a bit too short in length unless my large toes are growing disproportionally to the rest of my body. Anyway, since I've worn these for a few weeks now and thought it would be unlikely I could return them to Zappos, I took a box cutter and sliced a slit in the inside facing non-leather material. I'm still tempted to cut all that filter material. Did it help? Well, so far no one has said I like your Top-Siders, did they come with that slit exposing your feet? Slit lets more air in and for certain out and yes I know there is something called flip-flops and sandals. However, I thought these Top-Siders might be cooler with an opening. One suggestion I would make to Topsider is to put some air holes from bottom of sole through to where toes fit. There might be a safety issue if I'm walking on glass or tacks, but it might help keep my feet cool in summer. Or perhaps some grommeted air holes on the sides would work. A little short in length and not much for keeping my toes cool.

I have had this shoe a little over one year. I initially wore the shoes for one sailing vacation of one week last year and only moderately since then. I was very happy with this shoe until went to slip on and the inner support in the back of the heel folded over. Apparently the material has adhesive on it as it stuck to itself inside the layers. This created a folded wrinkle of this stiff material. I took to a shoe repair store and they refused to even touch the shoe. Very disappointing.
