I love these! Of three different boots/styles, this was the only one that felt great on my foot instantly. I wear a 9 in shoes, ordered a 9.5 for thick socks. I have narrow ankles, wide toe area, high arches. So far, so good!

I LOVE this boot - I have a wide foot and bunions. The combination makes finding comfortable footwear extremely difficult. This is my second pair of Timberland Chocura Trail and they are wonderful. I especially enjoy the wide toe box and speed lacing. My only disappointment is that they don't have a Thinsulate version for winter. Taking a one-hour hike in cold and snow, my feet did become very cold. I have purchased a pair of Rocky boots for snow, but they aren't as comfortable. But 3 seasons a year, these are my go-to boots for mountain or trail, pretty much anywhere in North Pennsylvania, really. I have even worn them shopping at the outlet malls when I know I will be doing lots of walking. I normally need a Wide, but the 7 med. fit great.

Great boot for winter! Most of the other reviews mention that these boots need no break-in time- I was skeptical, but it's true! From the time I first tried them on; they were very comfortable with no rubbing or slipping at all. I wore these for a day of "hiking the concrete canyons" in NYC, and my feet were never sore- and even my back & knees felt pretty good at the end of the day. They're cute too! I've gotten lots of compliments!

Waterproof replacement for sneakers - I purchased these more for a replacement for my walking shoes for the coming wet season rather than a hiking shoe. They are comfortable, light and flexible, most importantly, waterproof! They would work well on compacted dirt trails, but I cannot testify to rocky terrain. I have wide feet, so I ordered my size in wide, but they were a bit too short and tight, so I went up 1/2 size and they fit great.

Excellent all day boot. Durable, comfortable, excellent all-purpose. I have problems with footwear, and these are my go-to shoe every time. Not dainty, but great with jeans or twill pants. I'm tempted to buy another pair so I have one when (if) I ever wear mine out!

I love these boots. I am the "princess and the pea" with my feet, and I was thrilled with these right out of the box! I bought them to be my "dressier" boots for my job as a National Park Ranger. They are the boots I wear when giving talks and tours. They are great everyday boots, and I recently wore them all around an amusement park and never thought of my feet once. They are nice and warm for an Ohio winter, yet they weren't hot in the summer. They wouldn't be rugged enough for back country backpacking, but I would highly recommend them for anyone needing sturdy footwear to negotiate icy parking lots, etc. They look cool with boot cut jeans, too.

I have purchased 2nd pair for backup when my first pair wears out. I hiked the Grand Canyon, Oregon Coast, Superior Hiking Trail and lots of winter and summer hiking in these boots. These are the most comfortable boots I have had, and they have also lasted the longest. The soles are great on ice and snow, but I do add $6 ice grips for those very icy hikes. I love these boots. They have good room in the toe area to keep your toes from banging the front of your boots on those long downhill hikes. I have a normal width foot with high arches.

Couldn't have survived without them! Felt great from the start compared to Keen and Columbia boots. Wore them on a difficult hike through mud/snow conditions and stayed comfortable and dry throughout. Love them! Reviews based on size/fit were accurate. Fit my orthotics fine.

I bought these to replace my old Timberlands of 10+ years that finally wore out. These are much clunkier, heavier and uncomfortable. I wish I hadn't pitched the box so I could send them back. They'll sit in the closet for several months and end up at Goodwill. Do not recommend.

These went straight from the box into my suitcase. I wore these about half the time I was in Peru. I did not get any blisters, so there was no need for moleskin - awesome! Also a great plus to have this available in a wide width! I am thoroughly pleased.

Love them! I was looking for a snow boot that is more like a hiking boot and I love them! They are comfortable and have kept my feet dry. The only thing is that I have had to double knot the laces to keep them tied. Other than that, so excited about them!

Wonderful Shoes! I have horrible feet with flat arches, and these are the most comfortable shoes of any sort I have ever worn. My walking shoes, even with orthodics, hurt after an hour. I hiked 7 miles in these boots before my feet started to get sore -- and I didn't even need to insert my orthodics at all! They feel like butter and look cute enough to wear with khakis or jeans every day!

Comfortable and comes in wide - I need a wide shoe and was looking for a Gore-Tex hiker that would be comfortable to wear all day. I found it! Right out of the box comfort... made well and waterproof. Roomy toe box... I did buy the wide and it's perfect! Medium weight socks are best... very happy!

I bought my first pair of these boots before a backpacking adventure 5 years ago. Since then, I have worn them regularly and with a tiny bit of upkeep, they've served me very well. They stayed fully waterproof (like dunk a bucket of water on them, walk through a puddle waterproof) for the first 3 years and as the leather weakened (without my effort to polish or take good care of it), they were still pretty water resistant. They are plenty toasty without being way too hot -- even when I wore them farming in Colombia. Your feet will sweat but they are somehow breathable while also being waterproof. They take barely any break-in time and are pretty comfortable from day one. I just invested in a new pair because I finally wore the soles away and figured re-soling would cost the same as a new pair if it is even possible. But bottom line is that for the price, this boot is 100% worth it. In another 5 years or so, I'll likely return again to buy another pair because I have yet to find another brand/style that is as versatile as these boots!

I go hiking in the Appalachian mountains every fall. I have narrow feet and always, always get blisters. In fact, I put on band aids before hiking until I got these boots. These are the best feeling most comfortable boots I have ever had. True to size and awesome waterproof. My daughter has a medium width foot and these fit her great too. She hiked through the rocky mountains with these and loves them! You can't beat comfortable dry feet.

I have wide feet, and Timberland always seems to offer great shoes for people with feet like me. The shoe really has every aspect considered, including every sort of maneuver that you'll do while hiking. Timberland makes high quality shoes; this is my third pair, and all of them resist water so well and are extremely comfortable and stylish. Just remember that you do need to clean leather.

Excellent service and ease of shopping - My Chocorua Trail boots arrived in less than one day and I couldn't be happier. They are comfortable and meet my needs for a wide boot that handles orthotics. Thanks Zappos!

Comfortable but not for rocky hiking - I have a very wide foot so my choices are limited when looking for a quality hiking boot. I wore out my last pair from LL Bean and was in a hurry to get a new pair and break them in before hiking in Europe this summer. These boots are delightful comfortable, like a gym shoe. The drawback is that they feel like gym shoes when you are hiking. If you hike on dirt packed paths or forest paths covered in leaves and pine needles then this is a great boot. The sole is very soft and will conform to whatever you step on. I'm a fairly strong hiker and these were murder to wear on the rocky trails of Arizona and the Italian Alps. I tried putting in sole supports to stiffen the sole. It helped but the boots just aren't made for rugged hiking. I threw mine away after completing a two day hike in Italy. Very comfortable but not a "hiking" boot.

Waterproof, but bulky - I bought these boots to wear on a December trip to Michigan. They kept my feet warm and dry, but they feel quite bulky and heavy when wearing them. I have owned previous pairs of Timberland hiking boots and not had the problem with bulkiness...I wear a 6.5 and my feet feel huge when I'm walking around in the Chocorua Trail boot. I'm going to keep them for future winter trips, but will probably buy a different boot for hiking.

What I was looking for - My left foot is weird, so I always try on the left shoe first. If that is okay them I try on the right shoe. It was so hard to find a wide women's hiking boot. I have been taking short walks prior to out two week hiking trip and I am pleased. No pressure points or sore feet.

Timberland Chocurua Hiking Boot - I tried on several different hiking boots. This was the most comfortable and lightest. I have not hiked in them yet but am confident they will be very comfortable.

I Love My Boots!! They are a perfect fit, ever so comfortable, and keep my feet warm and dry. They have been moisture tested with the last 2 storms, and pass with flying colors. I would recommend them to anyone!!
