I read the reviews before buying theses shorts. They were very accurate. I wanted that one great pair of short that didn\'t stick to you when it is hot, you can wear in the water, on a hike, or for a nap. Multi-purpose is the name of the game for these shorts. I ordered on size larger so they are extra roomy and comfy!

I really love these! They are loose and comfy. The only thing I would change about them is to add a liner, but otherwise they are great quality.

New and improved Baggies! I'll admit at first I was a bit skeptical to see that the same old reliable pair of Patagonia Baggies shorts were not the same. There is a draw-cord at a now comfortably padded waist band that stays comfortable and dry (except for the weekend they just spent in the water doing a Wilderness Lifeguarding class). They were a good pair for that one pair of shorts you bring on a trip. I've been a Baggies wearer for over fifteen years now and I must say, I like the new design! Pockets have the mesh component to them to drain water, nice touch!

I love Patagonia Baggies, and have been wearing them for years. I am normally a 6/8 and a medium fits perfect. Not too loose, not tight at all. If I need to, I can also wear a size large. The large has a lot more room, and an obvious more loose fit, but I can get away with the next size up without looking ridiculous. :) Worth every penny. I have some from 98 that I still wear today.

I love these shorts. They are super comfy and can be used for pretty much anything. I already have a pair of these in a different color that I bought the year before. These are about an inch longer than last years version but still totally fine. I'm going to use them on a 27 day hike in the Sierra Nevadas this summer. Perfect for a long hiking trip because they are super lightweight and dry super fast.

These shorts did not look like much in the photos but I figured with all the rave reviews, I must need to see them in person and figure out what all the hoopla was about. Well, after ordering them, I still do not get it. There is nothing flattering or cute about them at all, in my opinion. They honestly look just like a pair of men's swim trunks, minus a lining. The fit is just sloppy (I know, kind of implied in the name) with no cute pockets or anything to spice them up a little. I certainly understand wanting that do everything short that you can be hiking or kayaking in and still look presentable enough to walk into a store, or something. And sure, the material will do that for you. I just think there are so many other cute shorts that will do the same and actually look nice on. I also ordered the North Face Class V Water shorts, Patagonia Happy Hike shorts, and Speedo Elastic Waist Boardshort with back pocket, ALL of which are infinitely cuter and cheaper than these! I cannot decide yet which of those to keep. Maybe if these were cheaper I could understand it, but not for this price with so many other comfortable, versatile, and nicer looking options out there for less money. But hey, I am clearly in the minority on this, so maybe it is just me! They are easy enough to return, at least.

Very cute pair of shorts! They are light weight and dry very quickly. Just what I was looking for so I ordered them in two colors! I wear a size M and they were true to size.

I like these shorts quite a bit. They're on the baggy side (as the name suggests), and I waffled between the medium and large sizes. If you are in the same position, I suggest being sure to sit down in them as you try them on. That made the decision for me, as the medium shorts (which were appealing because they're less baggy) were too tight at the crotch when I sat down. Once I settled on the larges, I fell in love with them. I like having pockets and a drawstring, and the loose, easy fit makes them perfect for kayaking and hiking.

Good, versatile shorts. They are not the most flattering things (kinda plain), but they dry quickly, are simple enough to go with any top, and they have pockets with mesh. I bought them for a vacation to the Keys, and wore them almost every day: camping, walking, biking, and on the boat. I'm 5'7" about 140 lbs and medium build. I got the Medium blue color, and the waist is a teeny bit snug, but that may just be my body. Overall, I'm happy with them.

I think that all Patagonia products are comfortable and stylish at the same time! But the baggie shorts are, by far, my favorite. I can wear them anywhere I go!

Love these shorts! They were great for kayaking and dried very quickly after being wet. The drawstring is really nice for finding the perfect fit. Also a nice, athletic length, not too short.

These looked super comfortable when I saw them online but I was rather skeptical since this price is pretty steep for a pair of shorts. Fast forward to the day I get these in the mail and try them on and I cannot take them off! They are perfect for running errands, hanging out, hiking and everything in between - especially in the summer heat. I have ordered two more pairs and I definitely cannot wait to wear them on hikes.

I love these shorts! They are a great length, very comfortable and I love the pockets. I usually wear a small but sent them back for a medium as the small was a little tight on my hips. They are great shorts for any activity!

Baggies are perfect for travel and summer fun. My first pair of baggies (circa 2009) are the blue Northern Lights color. I have worn them trail running, river tube floating, gardening, and more. They are comfy, don't stick/cling to you when hot and humid and dry quickly. The pockets are made of mesh on the inside, so if you jump in a lake or get stuck in a storm, they'll drain properly. I just bought my second pair, a more neutral black, for an upcoming trip. I hope to use these white water rafting, SUPing, and lounging. I am 5' 3", 124 lbs., size 6/8, pear shaped and wear these in a M. They are not too tight, not too loose (but remember, they are called baggies for a reason!). They are not the most stylish shorts, but they do the job.

I have a pair of baggie shorts from 4 years ago (a blue, they no longer sell that shade) and they are perfect. I've used them running (in distances up to 10k, which were totally comfortable), tubing on the river, gardening, yard work, walking the dog, hiking, etc. They are really comfortable. The length is good (you can always roll over the waistband if you like them shorter). The pockets are mesh which allows for drainage in the water. The material seems to repel stains, water, etc. When I wore them river tubing, they got fully submerged in the water. When I got out and walked the mile back to my car (in hot July) they were dry by the time I got into the car. I came to Zappos to order another pair, in black. Nothing is wrong with my first pair, but I wanted a more neutral pair to take on vacation. Wish they still had the charcoal gray, but the black will do. For measurements, I am 5' 3", 122 lbs., pear-shaped (34B/S on top, M/Size 6-8 on bottom) and the size medium fits fine. As the name suggests, these are meant to be baggy and more casual. Love these shorts. I usually wear them when I go hiking or if I am going to play in the river with my dog. They are very lightweight and do not get soaking wet if I am getting splashed with water. Zappos was the only place I could find these shorts in my size and not in a hideous color!

This is my first pair of the 'new and improved baggies' and I was pleasantly surprised. I like the waistband and pockets better than my older baggies. For outdoor shorts, they're pretty flattering and very practical. Hopefully they'll hold up well.

I think they are good looking shorts, but not quite as baggy as I was anticipating. I'm not really fat, 15 lbs. overweight, but if you need baggy shorts, order up.

I loved the pockets and length of these shorts. The back of the shorts looked much different on than pictured on the model. The shorts seem to stick out more, rather than sit closer to the skin and show the curves of my legs. I guess the shorts were a little too "baggie" for my liking rather than showing my legs and back side in a more positive way. A nice light weight and very comfortable though!
