Classic boot - beautiful color! I’m a size 9 in every shoe/sneaker I own, except for these. I wear an 8. Definitely size down.

Great fit. First 8-inch boot and had a bit of break in period, but otherwise really well made. Style is nice and sleek as well.

Very satisfied. Regarding fit: I wear size 10 in athletic shoes, 9.5 in dress shoes and ordered these in size 9D. The fit is close to perfect, but I should add that I have narrow feet. For example, my ski boots have to be LV "low volume" and wear a 9C in Alden boots. This Red Wing in 9D is slightly narrower than the 9C Indy boot. I was concerned the Red Wings would be too wide given my narrow foot, but they are in fact perfect in front and perhaps only a tiny bit lose in the heel which I suspect will get better after break in. The D width is good for narrow feet. Those with average or wider feet ought to consider the E width.

2 sizes down from my sneaker size. You have to try on before buying. I kept going down in size until I couldn't get the boot on, then went up the next half size and they fit perfectly. Speed of delivery was fantastic. I was afraid they'd been worn as they weren't delivered in a Red Wing box, but that's the only negative thing I can say about the transaction.

My 3rd pair… absolutely worth every penny. If you’re new to Red Wing Heritage’s, size down a half size from your regular tennis shoe size.

This is my 2nd pair of Red swing Heritage boots they are the best boots that I ever bought. These shoes didn’t come with the RW insoles so you might want to get them first. You definitely need a shoe horn to get them on. But they are extremely comfortable.

Break in period is about 2 weeks - it's a rough one. Once you're through the break in period, this is a very comfortable boot.

I put felt true to size as my normal Red Wing Heritage size is 11.5D but am a 12D in most shoes and cheaper imported boots. My suggestion on the Red Wing Heritage boots is to order a 1/2 size down. These boots were comfortable from day one with no break-in needed. My Red Wing Iron Rangers and Blacksmith boots needed various break-in times but this boot was great from day 1.

I noted they fit true to size but my true size is a 12D. I have numerous Red Wing Heritage boots and always size down a 1/2 size. This is not an issue as I size down a 1/2 size in almost all quality boots. Cheaper boots and dress shoes I wear a 12D. It takes a little while to break in Red Wings. I usually just have the bottom of my feet being sore as the boots mold to my feet. Others may have different experiences with break in. Love Red Wing Heritage.

Love the boots. The leather is thick and rather stiff, so expect some break-in time. But after a few weeks, they’ll feel like a custom fit boot and will last a very long time, being they can easily be re-soled. And expect it to only get better looking with age.

Quality construction, very comfortable. The prevailing advice to size down didn’t work for me. I’m a size 14 D and the 13 EEs were too small. The 14s are the proper fit for me. Break in period longer than most but not as dramatic as you sometimes read about. Absolutely worth the money. That’s apparent out of the box. After Red Wing, you have to spend almost twice as much to notice a big difference in quality (e.g. Nick’s Boots) for fancy type work boots. Don’t skimp on leather care. And these aren’t snow boots or hiking boots, either. These boots can last you forever if cared for every so often. I completely neglected my first pair and they stood me for 11 years. But get to them even 2x a year and you will be glad that you did.

This is my husbands second pair. He loves that rugged grungy look. To make it a bit more comfortable for him, he wears them with insoles. After breaking them in, he could walk in them all day without complaints.

Definitely some break in time. I’ve been wearing this boot style for 20 yrs. worth the money. Full time carpenter, on my feet all day.

I wear a 7.5D in redwing iron ranger. Ordered this in same size. length felt fine width was super tight. Couldn’t stand it after 5 minutes of walking around house. Going to try 7.5EE AND 8D

Great boot. Haven't had too much trouble breaking these in. Most likely because I've got the rough-out leather so it isn't as stiff. I'm a 10 in athletic type shoes (Converse, Adidas, NB), 9 1/2 in dress shoes (Thursday, AE, BS) and boots (Thursday, AE, Clarks), but I dropped to a 9 in these, standard width in all. I've only put about 10 miles on these so far. It was an excellent find for a great sale price.

What can you not like about this boot? Bought these for my son 5 years ago I believe and he’s had them resoled twice. He wore them every day until he bought another pair in a different color. This boot doesn’t quit!! He has 2 pair that he wears everyday. Extremely comfortable. Durable! They still look look good.

I just wanted to give my 2 cents on the sizing of Red Wing Heritage boots because I've seen some crazy advice! I own both the Moc Toe and the Iron Rangers. I believe its called the Brannok device (Im sure I spelled it wrong) but get yourself sized by that device and whatever it says your size is get the Moc toe in that. In the Iron Rangers size down a half size and expect a little extra toe room in the toe box. Its pretty simple

Shoes are stiff at first but are starting to break in nicely (as good leather does). They are very study and a bit on the heavy side. Definitely runs at least a 1/2 size big.

Due to the leather used in these boots, the boots originally are quite rigid. That being said, once broken in, they’re a dream. Sales reps at the Red Wing store advises it will likely take 100 hours of wear time to have these boots broke in, which had proven true to my experience. The heel cup seemed to rub a bit prior to breaking in, so I wore a piece of duck tape on the hot spot of my heel until things loosened up. Additionally, if you have a soft ball or bocce ball lying around you can put that in your boot and lace it up over night to aid in breaking them in more quickly. Since I have wider feet, the area across the ball to small toe is a bit tight and will require some additional wear to loosen up. Main thing is not to buy these right before you go hiking and wear them out of the box. You will be regretting your decision for a while. With the proper break in time though, you will thoroughly enjoy these boots! Cheers!
