I don't understand the degree of loyalty people have to these boots. They are terribly uncomfortable out-of-the-box; I agree with a previous reviewer's characterization of them as "torture devices." Why I should put myself through several weeks (or more) of extreme discomfort when there are so many other well-made boots for less money that feel good when you first put them on?

These boots are not original, they are completely wrong, it's a completely bad scam

Red Wing Moc Toe is one of the most comfortable boots I own

One word to describe it --- Awesome!

This is my first RW Heritage moc toe boot I ever purchased. I always wore RW loggers on the job and around town. Current pair of loggers are 8 years old. So these look great. I'll wear them with pair of jeans. But there's no liner so wear thick wool socks if you wear them in the winter. Next, the leather is thick and stiff, high quality too. I've been using RW leather conditioner twice per week to soften them up... Finally I snagged this pair 45% off otherwise regular price is $299.99!

This is my first RW Heritage moc toe purchase. I snagged a pair of rough & tough black for 40% off! They are stiff, there's gonna to be a break in period. I've already began oiling them each night. They look great tho. Not uncomfortable and no blisters...

Great looking boot

I wear a 10D in Nike, 9.5D in MIUSA New Balances. I ordered these boots in a 9 and they fit spot on the length, they were in fact a little tight on the sides, but after wearing them for a week they’re become more comfortable. This is my second pair of red wing Mocs this year my first is the 8881 and they fit a little tighter on the sides than the 8849s but now they fit perfectly.

Lovely boot, but was a bit narrow in the toe box. If not for that, I would have kept them. A well-made boot!

Great after the break in period was over . Now , they are what I wear ! Work , walking my dog , or even playing basketball with my son ! ! ! I use them all day .

These are my absolute favorite work boot. They take a bit of time to work in, say 3 or 4 weeks of wearing them consistently. Once they are broken in they are amazing. I am bummed that they got rid of the leather laces, they had a more authentic/classic look to them. All in all i'm 100% down for them.

I just got these so I can’t speak to a broken in boot yet. Hopefully, this review can help with sizing. Size wise, I wear a 7.5 wide to 8 wide in sneakers and got a 7 wide after returning the 7.5 (thanks for a painless, process, Zappos!). The leather is tough and I have a bit of heel slip to start with. I’m on day 3 of mostly house wear. I’m wearing the thickest socks I can manage and lacing them with a heel lock and that’s helped a ton. My arches are insanely high and I have a high instep and I can actually wear these without the top of my foot hurting! I hope to update this review after they’re broken in, but the initial quality of these is excellent and I have high hopes.

Leather is really nice, we ended up returning these because my husband needs work shoes rather than work boots, but they were of very good quality, if you need a boot like this. He normally wears size 12M an we got a 11.5 EE, after being advised that these boots run narrow and long, and that was correct for him, with room for insoles.

I own a pair of Iron Rangers and Blacksmith in size 10D. I have flatter feet too. My brannock measurement on my longer foot is 11D so going down full size is correct for those model Red Wing. I wasn't sure on the 875 so ordered the 9.5D and a 10D. The 9.5D fit really good actually everywhere except on my longer foot, my big toe does touch the end of the boot. The 10D fit much better overall but I do wish it had a little more side to side snugness with thinner socks. However, the build quality appears superb and the look of these in the Oro leather is...worth a thousand words. Highly recommend trying a pair and hope my review helps you with sizing.

Great boot all around…This is my 3rd pair of red wing boots this being my 2nd Moc Toe…Just like all red wing boots they do take a couple weeks to break in and soften up a bit…I also have a pair of thorogood boots, a great boot but the craftsmanship of red wing is much better…they run a full-size larger than the average tennis shoe…i have wide feet and the EE is great…still a little snug but as you break them in they feel like a glove…

Great boots made to last. Size ran a little long for my foot and the stiffness of these boots when new created too much heel-lift. These will soften over time but I had to go a size down to get the length right. The wider widths available are a big part of what makes these boots fit so well for me.

When it comes to heritage style you can’t beat Red Wing boots. I’ve been wearing them for over a week and they are barely starting to break in a little. Very tough leather and painful to break in but I can tell it’s worth it. Beautiful shoes with a lot of style.

A bit narrow getting them on but surprisingly comfortable. Fit true to size. Extra wide foot feels great. Worth the money

These are awesome boots! The oro legacy moc toe boot is an absolute legend. They definitely run big and the leather is stiff. I’m usually a 10.5 sneaker and went with a 9.5 D. I tried a 10D and 9.5 EE but both were too big - especially considering that these will break in. I may have gotten away with a 10D if I always wore heavyweight socks but with regular socks they were just too big. Can’t wait to rock these for many years in the future.
