Reading Zappos’ review section was very helpful in selecting size and style. I really wanted the Hunters in so many colors, but after reading how tall they fit on the height challenged and those with a larger calf, I opted for the "Huntress" in Navy. Normally wear a 7.5 and in some brands an 8. Have a wide foot with a very high arch and a bit larger calf. Ordered the 7 and were fine in length, seemed a little wide in foot with a pair of knee highs on, but tested them for slipping by running up stairs without any problems. Great with a heavy sock, perfect height and calf width, plenty of room to tuck in jeans. I agree with another reviewer: my legs even looked thinner. Zappos notified me when my size was available and shipped in record time. I was surprised to see the boots arrived with some marks and dull spots on them, but this is the maker and not Zappos. Love the boots, just wish they came in all the same colors as the Hunters.

I didn't pay attention to the reviews and originally ordered the Hunter original which was close to painful on my calves when I tried to wear over jeans. The Huntress (ordered one size down) fits perfectly over my jeans and are super cute with my red Wellie socks. They're very comfortable for sloshing around snowy, wet, and city streets for hours.

I have wanted a pair of Hunter boots for awhile and was so pleased to find that the Huntress is made in 16.5" calf sizes (my calves are 15" and the originals would not let me tuck pants in). I bought the green in size 38. I wear a 7 and did buy the 37 initially as recommended, but because of my high instep and wider than average foot, the 38 just felt better. Need thick socks though. It does appear there are two versions of the Huntress however. In the 37, the logo on the front said Huntress, but also had the Hunter crest. In the 38, it just said Huntress in bigger letters on the outside and on the inside gave the specifics of the brand. Maybe the 38 had the old branding? Also, the difference between these two sizes seemed greater than expected and I wondered about quality control.

Incredibly fast shipping of a great boot - These boots are great but even better was the incredibly fast shipping. I do a lot of online shopping so, not sure why this is the first time I ever ordered from Zappos.com, but am sure that it won't be my last. Placed my order on Wed afternoon and the boots arrived on Thurs afternoon? For free? Very pleased. Oh, and the boots are just what I was hoping for. Wear a 7.5 and ordered a 7 and they work. Thanks.

Huntress Boots: A Life Saver - Finally! Wellies that are comfy, durable, AND large enough to fit over my chunky 16" calves. My roommate suggested I purchase these after I complained how Hunter boots were too tight. I initially thought the price was a bit steep but after seeing the quality of these boots, the price is well worth it. I usually wear size 7 or 7.5 (Euro 38) and purchased these in a size 6 (Euro 37) as recommended by other users. They fit perfectly. Now, if only I could find a pair of leather boots that fit just as well.

Best Wellies in the World! I originally purchased the Hunter wellies in green, but found out that for short people (I'm 5' 2"), the shaft was too high. The boots stopped just below my knee cap and I couldn't comfortably or fashionably tuck pants in. So I called Zappos and some really nice, helpful lady walked me through finding the return label (which was totally easy to find) and had the new shoes overnighted to me before I even sent the other ones back. These shoes do run a size big, so I recommend going a size smaller than normal. I normally wear a 6 1/2 and I ordered a 6. They fit beautifully and look so cute! It's been raining in Houston for weeks, so I can be at work and not get wet which is wonderful. My only complaint is to Hunter, not Zappos, for only making this wellie in 3 colors! Now that I have the traditional green, I want them in red and yellow and navy!

Nice boots - I'm in my early 20s and pretty slender and the Hunter Original was too tight for me around the calves. I wish these said "Hunter" instead of "Huntress" on the label and that they came in more colors, but this is a nice boot that allows plenty of room to tuck in even your non-skinny jeans. I ordered a UK 4, which is typically my size when I'm shopping in England (US 7). I think the sizes are accurate, but the conversion is slightly off.

These are well worth the money. I was thrilled to find Huntress as I have muscular calves (about 16" around at widest point) and have a hard time finding boots that fit. They are very well made and fit my legs comfortably, with room to tuck my leggings + legwarmers or jeans in. They are cute and functional! I recommend ordering a size down. I normally wear a size 8 ½ or a 9, but a size 8 Huntress fit perfectly, with room for warm socks.

Huntress Wellington boots - Great for the garden work, and easy to get on and off: can even tuck in light pants. Easy to just hose off when done. Nice fit, with more room in the calf part of leg.

Great boots - Super fast shipping! I ordered these boots yesterday and got them in the mail today. However, the boots looked like someone wore them around once (kind of scratched) and decided to return them. No big deal because it’s been raining so much where I am I need rain boots ASAP! They are also comfortable and stylish. I would never wear a rain boot with ducks, flowers or hearts on them... They run really big too order a size down or a size and a half down from your normal size.

I think I’m in love - These boots are awesome! I walked around in them all weekend during the icky rain we've been having in San Francisco and they felt great! excellent arch support and no blisters to speak of... though they can feel a bit restricting when you're sitting down, and getting your pants not to bunch up around them (unless you are blessed with a skinny body that is flattered by "skinny" jeans) is minorly trying...but they are by no means too tight around the calves. I ordered a FULL size down and I can wear them with a fleece sock. The waxy surface seems to prevent the rubber from scratching, which is an added bonus. A fantastic choice for rainy days!

Fantastic Boot! I've wanted Wellies since I was a child and I'm thrilled with my boots! I have muscular calves and I'm really glad I read the reviews and went with the Huntress. I've been wearing mine as a snow boot with thick wool socks to keep me warm. I have a steep driveway and they keep me from sliding as I shovel the snow. I'm thoroughly satisfied with the fit and style of the boot. Not to mention the super fast shipping! I ordered the boots in the afternoon and had them the next day. I was thrilled.

I love my rainboots - I love the Huntress rainboots. They go with everything and are perfect for the rainy season. They were definitely worth the price.

Perfect - My calves aren't that big but this style Hunter boot fit so much better, esp. if I tuck in pants and wear thicker socks on. They also make no noise when walking, no weird rubbery squeaks. Love these.

AMAZING DELIVERY TIME!!! GREAT BOOT - I have tried on regular Hunter's, but with my 17" runners calf, let's just say it wasn't happening! I read the reviews for the Huntress, measured my calf, which still exceeded the listed 16" circumference, but wanted a pair so badly, I thought I would give it a shot. First of all, I ordered them late on a Saturday, was told they wouldn't be here until Tuesday (Monday was a Federal Holiday), but the boots AMAZINGLY were delivered on Monday!!! I couldn't be happier with the lightning fast delivery. Secondly, the boots are awesome. They fit over tall socks and I can tuck my jeans in, perfect for turning the horses out in muddy fields or taking the dog for a walk on a rainy day. I love my new Wellies and send many kudos to Zappos.com for their unparalleled customer service. Also, most reviewers suggested ordering a size below your normal size, but if you have a wider foot, they will fit pretty true to size.

The best rain boots around! I tried many, many boots. This one is the most comfortable: it doesn't pinch the ankles, you can comfortably tuck pants in--the calf area is not tight, and the material is soft/flexible. Plus it looks great. Like another reviewer commented, I don't want to look like I'm wearing children's boots when it rains. NOTE that it is large in size: I usually wear size 7-8, and I had to go down to the Women's size 6.

Great black rain boot! These boots are adorable and a great basic rain boot! The fit is about one size to big - I wear an 8 or 8 1/2, bought a 7 and they fit well. The width is great, if it's raining I can tuck my pants into the boot and the slight heel keeps my pants from dragging even if I don't tuck them in. I bought colorful boots recently and find that I wear the black all of the time. They are subtle enough that they go with everything and very rustic stylish.

Great rainboot for those with muscular calves! I just got my Huntress boots today, and they are wonderful! I am petite (5'3") and a runner with muscular calves so I listened to the other reviews and went with the Huntress model versus the Hunter -- and, boy, am I glad I did! The boot ends below my knee and there is plenty of room in the calf. Very cute, sturdy boots that will be very warm with socks. The width of the shoe is comfortable, this is not a narrow width by any means. I usually wear a 6.5 or 7 (and 6 in Ugg boots), and I ordered the Huntress in women's equivalent of 6, and they fit great! Definitely going down a size, as with Uggs, seems to be the way to go.

So glad I went with the Huntress! This boot is perfect if you are shorter and have muscular or big calves! The same great look of the Hunter original... with a more comfortable fit. Buy some thick wool socks for the winter and you have the perfect snow boot! I love these wellies!!!

Great boot! I first ordered the Hunter Original boot and it fit fine on my calves, but didn't leave much room. The thing about the Original is that it came all the way up to my knee. I'm not short, I’m 5'6, but they still came to my knee, which felt strange going up and down stairs. I returned them and ordered the Huntress. I LOVE this boot! They are roomy, so I stick my pants in them and they are the perfect height. I had ordered the merlot in the Original, which I liked, but I love the black in the Huntress.

Great Boots - I originally purchased a pair of Hunter size 8. I normally wear an 8 1/2 and these fit perfectly - BUT only with thin socks. The calf was also snug - my calf is normal size and I could not have tucked a pair of pants into them. I returned them for the Huntress size 8. They were a bit large, but with heavy woolen socks, they fit perfectly and I was able to tuck in my pants. I definitely recommend buying a least a half size down.

Love the Huntress! Got the hunter first and was surprised by how tight the boot was around the calf. Had to return them and try the Huntress. I have them on now and love them. If you're not Kate Moss (meaning toothpick calves), I wouldn't try the Hunter. Go straight for the Huntress. Of course, Zappos amazing overnight shipping and return policy makes the process seamless so it's no big deal when you don't get the style or size right the first time. And, lucky me, it's supposed to rain in Philly for the next few days. YAY!

I love rainy weather - These are my first pair of rubber boots ever, and they are incREDible! I would say they run a bit big, but I tend to wear a few pairs of socks when I wear them. I worked in the garden today, and just hosed em down when I was done. So fun and great, I highly recommend them.
