New Balance WC654 did the job.
I found these to be comfortable upon first use on the tennis court. I have been suffering from heel pain and reluctant to play as often as usual. With heel gel inserts, I experienced no pain. Must buy myself a second pair.

Very comfortable. I have a narrow foot and find it difficult to find a good fit. This shoe feels great when I'm playing tennis and has excellent arch support.

Out-of-the-box comfort!
Comfy, well padded shoe. No break-in time required. The front part of my foot is wide, and these shoes in a regular width gave me the room I need, unlike Nike, which always seems to run narrow.

Much better -
New Balance styles WCT1003 and WCT1002, which I got from the local mall, are the "latest style" and both injured my feet by rubbing and bruising at the ankles the first time I played in each of them. I chose this style from Zappos because the area around the ankle looked more like the old style NB tennis shoes, and they are very comfortable and do not rub. I always have to buy a full size larger in NB tennis shoes.

A good buy!
New Balance has always been a dependable, no-fail shoe for me, and this one meets my expectations. However, compared to running shoes, this shoe seems VERY HEAVY and cumbersome. There is very little arch support. But on the tennis court, the shoe seems to transform, and feels altogether perfect. A sharp, great looking shoe!

NB WC654 -
I ordered this shoe for work (I'm in the healthcare prof.)....I always use the reviews to make my decisions. This shoe is a good fit and quite comfortable. There's no break-in time. I would recommend this to anyone who wants a comfortable shoe for work in hospital, med office, etc... when you're on your feet all day.

Love this shoe -
This is the 4th pair that I have purchased and used for tennis only- I have a pair for hard courts and 1 for clay courts- They wear better than other shoes that have cost more and are so comfortable--In a regular shoe I wear a 6/1/2, but in tennis shoes I always buy a 7.

True to size. I have a bunion kind of thing and the shoe box width allows plenty of room for that. No break in required-you are good to go right out of the box.

Best shoes ever!!
I love these shoes--I do aerobics four days a week--plus I have a very narrow foot--New Balance truly is the only athletic shoe I can wear. I choose the cross trainer as I get more stability than an aerobic shoe. I will order this one again and also I love the service from Zappos--they are great!!!

This is the first time I've attempted to buy tennis shoes, but it just didn't seem to fit my foot right. Gave lots of support to the ball of the foot (almost too much, since it made that area snug in terms of height), but the arch support just didn't match it. Like I said, I don't know if I'm qualified to give an expert review, but at least for me I'm looking for a better fit and more arch support.

This was a size D...wide, but still not wide enough as it was wide at the widest part of the foot, but not in the toe box.

I need stability shoes for running and these New Balance are a good fit for me for hard court tennis. I'm not crazy about the colors but it seems the majority of women's athletic shoes are mostly white. I can't stand white sneakers. There is nothing anyone can do about that I guess. Great width. Good length. I recommend. Happy tennis to you!

Great court shoe if you need a narrow width -
I love New Balance for tennis shoes. This is my third pair and love that they come in narrow widths. The only complaint I have is that they feel a little large in the toe box. I like the toe box to be a little roomy, but for a narrow shoe, this feels a little large and the length of the shoe feels a bit longer than their normal size 11's.

Having a former bunion scar--there is a touchy area on the top of my foot, where the bones are. With the addition of an orthodic--these were too snug, pressured there. A pity. TRULY no slip...best no slip ever.

I wear NB shoes for all my sports - running, x-training. The price/performance is good. So I was honestly a little disappointed to see that after only 3 sets of tennis, the serving toe had a lot of wear. I don't think the wear is due to aggressive play. At my age, I get the low balls by dropping my racket head, not by bending my knees! I compared my new shoes to others' and noticed the rubber toe on my NB shoes doesn't extend up onto the toes as much as other shoes. Some other minor problems - the shoes are a little stiff. The laces that come with the shoe are about a ft too long. These shoes might be decent x-training shoes, but I can't recommend them for tennis. I'll still buy NB for my other activities but am going to shop around for a better court shoe.

I chose these shoes for walking and exercise because I have always been happy with New Balance shoes. This style appeared to have fewer seams with less possibility of irritation inside the shoe. This shoe lives up to the usual New Balance support and large toe box. What has been unusual and I don't like is how stiff these shoes are both in the soles and on the tops. It is taking quite awhile to break them in-for the soles to become more flexible and for the tops to soften. I've had to relace them a few times to get the tension right, especially to have enough tightness in the heel since I have a narrow heel (12AA). I think they will be fine in time, but I wouldn't order this particular shoe again.

With such great reviews, I purchased the shoe. The first thing I noticed was my toe hitting the end of the shoe. As for the arch support, I would say medium, definitely not excellent. Once out on the court, my feet began to hurt. The shoe was too tight and the insole provided inadequate shock absorption. Needless to say, I was disappointed. Trying to salvage the shoe, I purchased orthotics (nearly as expensive as the shoe) from the Walking Store, based on my shoe size and pressure points. It helped the cushioning, but the shoes are still too tight and contined to hurt. \r\nMy recommendations if you buy this shoe: buy at least 1/2 size up and invest in a good pair of orthotics.
