I got the cherry red boots yesterday and I am in love! This is the first pair of Dr. Martens I've bought but now I think I'll be buying more. Yeah, they're stiff but amazingly after walking around the house they started to loosen up and they definitely are comfortable. I bought the balsam to waterproof them and help soften up the leather. Great quality at a great price so,overall, I couldn't be happier!

They are very amazing. They took a a month to break in, but I will not go anywhere without them now. They are very reliable, and sexy. With the right outfit, you can even go on a date with them.

Classic style and reliable brand. This is my first pair of 20-eye Dr. Marten's, but they pretty much feel the same and display the same quality as my shorter DM's. The possibilities with these boots are almost endless -- very versatile! I have skinny calves, so these leave a bit of a gap between my calf and the boot, but I find that can be remedied by thick socks and/or boot cuffs. I cannot wait for fall to get here. These will be great for stomping in the crunchy leaves! Dr. Marten's always feel a half size too large to me (too bad they don't make half sizes), but going down a full size would be too small. So, if you're a half size, I would recommend going up.

Perfect after they are broken in. It takes about 2 weeks to break in. I would say to wear heavy socks to break in. They are great in the snow, and rain.

These are my second pair of Doc Martens and I highly recommend. The zipper makes them so easy to get on and off. I have a high-arched foot, so I'm picky about boots, but these are very comfortable to me. I'm able to walk long distances in them and never have that get these off of me feeling. Though this is probably nothing new, they are very sturdy boots. After about a week of wear, I bought leather softener/waterproofing (not Doc Martens brand, just one I picked up at an outdoor store), left it overnight, and the the leather softened up a bit. I've heard it's important to waterproof Docs. All in all, these are a great pair of boots. And the black makes them really versatile. I've gotten tons of compliments.

I love, love, love these boots. I have larger calves, and I was unsure if I would be ale to lace these all the way up without it looking weird. They look amazing, and actually make my legs look thinner. These boots are so versatile, and whatever look you are going for, these add a touch of an edge. I would say that the boots run a full size small. I am an 8.5 normally, and ordered a 9 based on a lot of the reviews I saw. I own an 8 in different docs, but I'm really glad i ordered a 9. they fit perfect (only with wearing thin socks, not thick winter ones, which is ok-- I don't want to add bulk to my legs anyways.

I bought a pair of these in black several years ago. I normally wear an 8.5 or 9, so I got a size 9 & they are great, even if I wear thicker socks (also room for an insole if you need it). These are my favorite boots! The Doc Martens airware sole makes these my most comfortable footwear, right out of the box. The leather softens & breaks in very quickly, but is still incredibly durable. Even after years of trekking through the city, harsh winters, being on my feet all day long...they are never uncomfortable. The style is classic & goes with everything I wear - from skinny jeans or leggings to lace slip dresses & mini skirts. The perfect boot!

I received these boots last week, and have been wearing them around the house in the evenings to try to break them in. I was not surprised by the breaking-in, after reading several reviews - and it is understandable given the stiffness of the leather. So I am not disappointed by this. I am, however, disappointed by the fact that the little tab meant to hold the laces in place on the tongue just broke this morning on one of the boots. Does not seem to be the best construction, at least where that feature is concerned. Otherwise, the boots seem to be built very well. Not sure if I would buy again, only because this is not a small amount of money to spend to have something break (even if only partially) within a week of purchase.

I bought the red ones in a UK 8/US 10. My feet are a true 10W or WW so I usually wind up wearing 11's in anything medium. However, I have a pair of ankle height Doc Marten's in an 11 which while they have loads of extra room for my LL Bean padded wool inserts and heavy socks, really look too big in the foot, like men's boots. I knew I could wear a Doc Marten's 10 as I had some I bought for a daughter and have worn. So I got the 10. They look great! I wore my thin smart wool socks and thin alpaca pads on the bottom and was warm enough this am driving to work at -3F. However, I have two problems others have mentioned. One is that I barely could lace them with the zipper up; the tongue is too narrow and the lace not long enough. I just made it so skin didn't show at the top. My calves are R 17 1/4 and L 17 1/2. After lacing them, and taking them off, I could not zip the one on the L without unlacing part way down and pulling them tight. Just a tiny bit more room at the top, please! The other thing is the ankles. They really cut into me going down stairs - even though I do not have large ankles. I am now working leather lotion into them in that area, including the tongue, to speed up the break in process. I am encouraged to hear that they do break in. I do love the color, which seems darker than cherry to me, but a wonderful color. I might try an 11 if I ordered these again, not for room in the foot, but to see if the calves are just a smidgen bigger. The width is fine for me, which means they are wider than the usual American medium.

Yes, they are adorable, and stiff, and I'm going to wear them anyway until they don't hurt my ankles any more because they are that cute. The plastic zipper IS a potential problem that is glaring out at me. Even in the few zips I've done, I can feel it straining, and I know it isn't going to last very long. Why have all this quality, and then put a bum zipper in that you'll have to replace in a few months? I would ignore the zipper and just use the laces, but that's a pain. I guess I'll just wear them until it breaks, and then get it replaced with a stronger zipper. Besides that quality flaw, I see these lasting as long as I do.

I really like these boots BUT they are horribly uncomfortable. I would return them, except that I was so eager to wear them I wore them outside and so I cannot return them. I got blisters after just a bit of walking around. I really like the fact that they come with a pair of bright yellow/gold laces. I'm hoping I can find the right pair of socks that makes wearing them bearable or over time comfortable.

I have been looking at these boots for months, not sure I would be able to pull them off. I finally broke down and ordered them in the softer-looking black buttero. They were comfortable and I felt my fierceness go up a notch just wearing them. The problem? The calves were too small! I have larger calves, but was confident with the adjustable laces, everything would be OK. The tongue was so skinny that when I laced them, skin/socks were showing on either side. Knocked my fierceness down a peg. Loved them, but returned them. So sad. I still heart Zappos, though!
