Great boot; tough break-in. Overall this is a great work boot that looks as if it will hold up for years. No flimsy construction here, very well made. I usually have a hard time getting Docs to fit as I wear an in-between size, a 9.5 women’s, but these fit perfectly in length and width for me. I have to say though that these boots are the most painful I've ever come across as far as the break-in period and require at least 3-4 days of heavy wear before they are comfortable. There is a seam in the boot where the leather overlaps and this cuts into the top of your feet – well, at least my feet anyway. Until the leather stretches out, be prepared to endure torture. I would have sent them back, but they feel really good everywhere else on my feet and for me that's hard to come by. So, overall great boot, but brutal breaking them in.

When bending my foot the steel toe cut into me. These have a very nice cushion, but I would never be able to bend my foot.

I have always worn Docs, these boots by far are the most comfy. I'm in construction and do 10 hr days, Timberline's just didn't cut it. These boots have an amazing arch support and like all docs r super comfy. Worth every cent.

I have tried on a bunch of different Dr Martens work book styles (all steel toe) and these fit so much bigger on me. I have actually ordered the next size down to try them. They seem like a terrific boot - I hope this works!

The soles are sticky. In a good way. These things grip! The leather seems pretty great, soft and flexible but thick, unlike my last pair of Docs. They are very slightly insulated. It took a couple days to break these in, and the seam above the toe was a bit excruciating in the meantime and the heel cap wore on the back of my feet a bit. I wore them without insoles to make them less snug to make it easier. However, that's kind of an issue. These things squeeze my feet a bit when I have the insoles in and it can become uncomfortable. My feet are about 10 1/2 inches around at the pad/bottom of toes so take that for what it's worth.

I have five other pair of dr martens that I just adore. They’re all extremely comfortable. These are the absolute worst. I have a medium arch. I even tried putting $400 podiatry insoles in them and they’re still not comfortable. These are one of the most uncomfortable shoes I’ve ever worn. I feel like I’m walking on cement. If I could rate them zero stars I would and the soles are terrible quality too and they boots are extremely heavy. They provide no arch support. I gave these shoes away after wearing them for over six months of pain.

I work in construction, on my feet ALL day. This is the best work boot I’ve ever worn! Forget the Red W____s , they’re good boots...these are better.

The third time was the charm for me with Dr. Marten boots. I first ordered the 1460 W in size UK7. It was HUGE. I normally wear a 8 1/2 - 9 but this was way too long and wide. So I returned those & noticed the Vegan 8 eye boot which I ordered in UK6. This one fit much better but the material just didn't look right and it seemed like it wouldn't be very durable. When I tied them, it also sort of gapped at the sides. Back they went. Then I ran into a friend who has a pair of Dr. Marten work shoes with steel toes. I tried the work boot & it's perfect. Great padding in the sole, thick upper. I like the idea of the steel toes! I will use these for work so my toes will be safe. I've worn them to two Mardi Gras parades & they are comfortable out of the box. Zappos is amazingly accommodating and helpful in assisting customers find the right shoe/boot. I'm so happy with these boots!

I like these, a lot. First day of wear was tough, felt slightly more narrow than they should. After a couple days of wear they feel great. These are my 4th pair of Doc's in five years. I still own three, with one being destroyed in a motorcycle accident. First pair of industrials though.

I am very happy with these steel toe boots. They feel like they are already broken in. The insoles are not not super padded but with the softer lug soles they feel great even with thin socks. I usually wear a Nike (or Merrell) 10½ sneaker and these 10Ms are perfect. They look so good I am reluctant to go out and do lawn work but that will probably make them look better! The only nitpick is that there is low arch support but I tend to use heel cups anyways.

Truly comfortable from the minute you put them on. The bouncy insoles are really great. A pair sized for a woman's foot would be nice, but all in all, love them.

Bought this for my husband and he loved it. No complaints from him and he is very picky when it comes to shoes.

These are the most comfortable work boots I have ever owned. They are incredibly soft right out of the box and do not need any break in. They seem accurately sized, and feel more like tennis shoes than work boots. My wife has some other DM's with shiny leather that feels more like plastic. The quality of the leather in these is superb.

These are super comfortable and they didn't take long to break in. I have a pair of casual Doc's and they are not as comfortable as my new steel toe Doc's.

I needed a pair of steel toed boots and ordered a pair of 1919s. I later discovered the steel toes in the 1919s were not OSHA approved. The 7B10s however are. I needed the boots quickly so I also ordered the 7B10s. I am so glad that I did. I was pleasantly surprised by the fit, comfort and quality of the 7B10s. The boots are completely lined on the inside. to insoles are much more comfortable than the traditional Docs (which I have always found to be comfortable, too). I had the opportunity to compare the 7B10s and 1919s side-by-side and the fit and finish on the 7B10s is dramatically better. So far I could not be happier with the 7B10s. I missed noticing that 7B10s are available in black with either black or traditional "gum eraser" colored soles. I bought the black soled version and I am very with them esthetically. I only menion it in case you have a preference for one version or the other.

I’ve owned my Dr.Martens in the past, these are my first pair of industrial boots. They definitely feel bigger compared to my normal boots but I just added an insole and now they feel great. Very comfortable and by far the best looking work boots I’ve ever bought!

These shoes are good shoes for someone doing light to moderate work. They will not stand up to heavy duty work conditions based on the construction of this boot. There is not a whole lot of bolstering and has the construction of a casual but with a safety toe.

Wanted a work boot with the comfort of a pair of Docs that I got a few years ago. Arrived quickly with Zappos normal shipping (I am always amazed - they make others seem like they ship at the speed of smell). Ordered a 12 first, and the right boot seemed too small. Exchanged (they sent the new ones before I had even mailed the old ones back) for a 13. The right boot still seems a bit larger than the left, but closer tolerance. Breaking in the boot took about a week, but I was able to wear all day at a job where I walk constantly with only minor break-in discomfort. Three weeks in they are super comfortable and give a great cushion while standing or walking. Overall, a great looking and comfortable boot. Marked down 1 for overall due to slightly inconsistent sizing between the two boots, but it is possible that one foot is a bit bigger than the other, just haven't noticed previously.

I own a pair on non-work Dr. Martens and I love them. If you are new to the brand, order 2 sizes down. I am a women's 7-7.5 and I ordered a 5. They fit perfectly. These are heavier than other work shoes I own (Timberland Pro). These take a few days to break in. I would recommend wearing them the first few days around the house in thick socks. When wearing these shoes wear taller socks, some ankle socks will slip down and then you have to unlace the entire boot to fit them (I learned the hard way).
