I bought these boots for my work (landscape construction and nursery sales), and wanted to have something that was steel toed, and wouldn't kill my feet after standing for 10 hours a day. Previously I owned Timberland WorkPros, and after beating the heck out of them, decided to switch to these.
Needless to say, these boots rock! The support is great, and my feet didn't hurt after a full days work. I'm also one to beat the crap out of the boots, so we'll see how they hold up through the year. They're also pretty good looking boots. 5 stars!

I have had to wear steel toed boots at work for years. I always thought the high priced brand names were the way to go; I was wrong. After wearing a brand that shares its name with a hockey team for 8 years, I decided to try something else and went with this boot. I knew in the first few minutes of putting it on that I had been missing out, big time. I went to the mall to try on some Docs before I ordered on line; the girl at the store told me to go down to a ten - I'm a ten and a half - but I would definitely recommend going up to the next size.

Dr Martens have always been the most comfortable boots around. As far as steel toe boots go, I only know that they have always been painful. Not so with the Dr Martens. They are the best steel toes I have ever worn. Plus they look good, too!

Very comfortable boot, right out of the box. Soft, pliable leather, cushy ride, moderate ankle support. I wore them all day yesterday then walked a mile with no complaints. I've yet to wear them in the field, we'll see how they hold up. I only need the steel toe occasionally, so I wanted something I'd get some use out of off-site. I like this height boot, and I don't like a padded collar, so it fits the bill.It fits pretty well, even though I'm a half size. That's my one complaint about Docs, no half sizes. But for this style boot it works. With the steel toe and added insole I'd worry that my usual size would feel cramped. But I'll never be able to make that comparison, will I?

Very comfortable boots - I regularly wear these all day when at suppliers with no discomfort at all. Typical of Dr. Martens quality, these have held up well for the year and a half I have owned them.

These boots are amazing! The leather holds up well. They held up better than other types of boots I had tried before trying Dr. Martens. The air cushion sole is very nice and comfortable. My only complaint is that the tread on the sole doesn\'t last longer than two yrs. I got this pair to replace my last pair of Dr. Martens that the tread had worn to the point of no traction.

Great Work Boots -
I bought these boots for work (I am required to have Steel-Toe), and I LOVE them. They are very comfy and have great support and padding. I am on my feet for 10hrs a day and these boots are perfect!! I previously had a different style of Doc's that I wore for 3 years before having to get a new pair. I love Doc's!!! The only thing I would suggest with this style is getting one size bigger as they seem to run small..
I love Zappos. They returned the small size and sent me out the bigger size overnight...who else does that??? Yay Zappos!!

I keep these on even AFTER work. Love 'em.
My current favorite (Blunnie 305) is no longer made, sadly, so I started a search for a replacement. I feel like I lost an old friend (or maybe the friend just got married). Anyway, I always loved my regular Docs but never had a real ANSI rated steel toe by them. The Blundstones are no longer made in Tasmania, so I assumed (correctly) that the Docs were likely no longer made in England, either. These boots are high quality and the company is up front about their origin. I don't feel like a wanna-be logger in them, nor do I think they look like a cheap discount-store hiker either. The "light hiker" and sneaker look may work for some, but they simply don't hold up in the environments that require a safety shoe. I work with plenty of folks that went that route and they're constantly replacing them. These have minimal seams and once broken in, are supportive AND comfortable. There's room for upgraded insoles or even custom orthotics, should you require them. I personally want a bit more arch support than the supplied insoles provide, as I have a medium to high arch. These don't look so idiotic that I look like a tool when I make a stop after work for an adult beverage either. They simply don't scream "blue collar worker" so much that you wouldn't wear them in public. I actually wear these almost everywhere when it's below 50; above which is flip flop weather. You likely already know about Zappos' legendary customer service so I'll just keep it simple and say it's a benchmark that most online footwear companies fail to live up to. I realize most of my review is subjective and your being pleased with the same choice will have more to do with quality or fit. I just wanted to shed some light on the objective stuff as well. I hope it helps at least someone.

I fit a womens 8.5 and ordered a womens 9. This shoe was much to large for me and made my feet look like a size 11. The shoe is also lined for electrical protection and that can add extra heat in the summer months.
It is also very heavy and I have strong legs from running.
I also am going to be working outdoors and don't need electrical protection so I didn't find it to be an added bonus. I like the raw leather feel of the regular doc boots.
The steel toe cap boundary is slightly visible and uncomfortable when I bend my foot.
On the other hand, the leather and eyelets are very well made.
I normally wear the regular doc marten boot (non steel toe) and I've had that for years. This steel toe version doesn't fit like my old shoe which is a womens 9.

Amazing shipping -
I can't comment on the fit of these boots yet, but I have to say the time it took be shipped to my house was amazing! I ordered them around 11 pm on a Tuesday and they were waiting on my door step when I came home from work the next day. That is less than 24 hours! I know it depends on where one lives but that is still the fastest shipping I have ever experienced. I would definitely order from Zappos again just based on shipping speed!

Great work boot - I think they really do have 'bouncing souls!' Took a few days to break in, I couldn't be happier with my choice. I went to a few stores to find these, but Zappos was the only place with brown in stock. Plus, no shipping and no tax in CA.

Great boot -
Awesome boot. Very happy with boot, even happier with service. Anyone who's ever had Dr. Martens knows how comfortable they are and these boots are the same. Over the ankle in length.

Steel toed sneakers -
I'm very happy with these boots. I am normally a skate shoe wearer but I got tired of soaking wet feet all winter and these boots have been great. Break in was hard as others noted, but they felt broken in after about a day of wear. The soles are incredible. I feel like there is better cushioning than some sneakers... These have redefined my idea of what a boot can feel like.

Like walkin on marshmallows -
I put at least 1000 miles on a pair of Doc's in the early 90's. The uppers were still in good shape too. I bought these because my new warehouse job was killin my heels. I couldn’t find a pair of boots that would cushion my heels adequately. Even with Gel inserts. These Old schoolers did the trick.

Great shoes!
Ordered them for my boyfriend, and he loves them! He usually wears a 9.5, but I ordered a 9, and they fit well. Although, he did say they were a bit tight by his instep.

I needed a steel toe boot for work, though it's mostly a desk job. These fit the bill. Very comfortable, good looking, and steel toe. I would not recommend for a fulltime work boot, due to durability, but great for the desk jockey that needs the steel toe for the occasional trips to the shop floor.

I have had, and loved, Doc Martens in the past, but this was my first pair in maybe a decade. I was disappointed how cheap the lining and plastic inside label look and feel, and the construction of the left boot (two sides sewn together on center piece) is crocked or shifted, slightly off from center. They do not appear to be of the same quality as my old docs, but I kept them because I needed steel toed boots for work.

Awesome Shoe -
The only thing about this shoe is you have to order 1 size bigger. I ordered it with my size but i ended up returning it and get a size bigger. Other than that this shoe is perfect!

Great boot; tough break-in.
Overall this is a great work boot that looks as if it will hold up for years. No flimsy construction here, very well made. I usually have a hard time getting Docs to fit as I wear an in-between size, a 9.5 women’s, but these fit perfectly in length and width for me. I have to say though that these boots are the most painful I've ever come across as far as the break-in period and require at least 3-4 days of heavy wear before they are comfortable. There is a seam in the boot where the leather overlaps and this cuts into the top of your feet – well, at least my feet anyway. Until the leather stretches out, be prepared to endure torture. I would have sent them back, but they feel really good everywhere else on my feet and for me that's hard to come by. So, overall great boot, but brutal breaking them in.

I have always worn Docs, these boots by far are the most comfy. I'm in construction and do 10 hr days, Timberline's just didn't cut it. These boots have an amazing arch support and like all docs r super comfy. Worth every cent.

I have tried on a bunch of different Dr Martens work book styles (all steel toe) and these fit so much bigger on me. I have actually ordered the next size down to try them. They seem like a terrific boot - I hope this works!

The soles are sticky. In a good way. These things grip! The leather seems pretty great, soft and flexible but thick, unlike my last pair of Docs. They are very slightly insulated. It took a couple days to break these in, and the seam above the toe was a bit excruciating in the meantime and the heel cap wore on the back of my feet a bit. I wore them without insoles to make them less snug to make it easier. However, that's kind of an issue. These things squeeze my feet a bit when I have the insoles in and it can become uncomfortable. My feet are about 10 1/2 inches around at the pad/bottom of toes so take that for what it's worth.
