I was looking for the perfect pair of combat boots and I found them. Good quality leather with a thick sole. I wear them with tights and dresses on warmer days or leggings and a sweater when it's colder out. It is kind of annoying that they don't have a zipper, but it adds to their authentic look. I am normally a size 6.5 and the UK 4, US Woman's 6 fit me perfectly with thin wool socks. I love Dr. Martens and these boots are 100% worth the price.

I purchased these, my first Docs, a couple months ago and I have thought about them a lot. Worn them a lot, too. I love them. I bought a men's 7 and it fit my women's 9.5 perfectly - good toe room but minimal heel slippage. It is winter so I'm wearing heavy socks. Thanks to the laces you can easily (well, pretty easily) adjust the fit otherwise. I have certainly developed a kinship with Victorian women...managing the laces so that you get out and back in and re-laced...well, you probably don't want to be in a hurry but it's well worth the bother. I'm pretty sure you want a pair.

I had my eyes on these boots for a while, but when I got them, I thought they were a little tight around my wide feet. I decide to keep them and wear with thin socks, but after a couple wearings they completely broke in and I absolutely love them. These boots are rockin' and still feminine at the same time. Could not be happier. They do run big as I usually wear an 8.5, but got these in an 8.

I love these boots. Love. The waxy, distressed leather is gorgeous, and the inimitable Doc Martens sole is flawless. It took me a couple of wears to break in the leather where the seam in on the back (near the buckle). That spot rubbed me the wrong way at first, but now they are like butter! I feel like I can take on the world in these boots!

I can't express how much I love these boots. A friend described them as hardcore yet sexy. What more could you want? They are sturdy and comfy too!

I love these shoes/boots! The ribbon laces make them very feminine. They are comfortable. They are versatile. I wear them with pants and skirts. If you like Docs, you'll love these!

Solid decent boot - trendy with the laces for my 15-yr old "Tomboy" daughter. Comfy after one wear she says so fingers crossed they become her "go to" boot as it's nice footwear!

I normally don't leave reviews but I just had to give one for these boots. I'm a size 6.5 and I ordered a 7 and they are perfect with a little room to spare for thicker socks when Winter rolls in. Right now I'm wearing thin socks. I have to say that these are the most incredibly cute boots! The ribbon laces were already laced in and the regular laces came in a separate plastic bag. These ribbon laces are such a nice touch and gives the boots a feminine touch. By reading all the reviews, I notice that you will be able to wipe off the wax on these boots to darken the color. I wiped off a bit of it with my fingers just at the front but I think I'll leave it as it is and let it come off naturally with wear. I'm going to wear these boots with my Free People ivory colored lace dress and the bit of white will go perfectly. It does not need any breaking in. They are really comfortable! I am so happy with this purchase and happy with Zappos as I bought these boots yesterday morning and received them this evening/next day service. Zappos is the best , with the best Customer Service above any other store online or anywhere for that matter! I love you Zappos!

I am in love with these boots. The leather is so soft and they're super comfortable. I have fairly muscular calves and often have trouble finding boots this height that fit properly, and end up ordering "wide" sizes that are often too big. But these fit perfectly! After reading someone else's review saying pretty much the same thing, I decided to buy these. I got them on sale, which was seriously a deal. I would not have been disappointed if I paid full price, these boots are that awesome. I looked through just about every boot on Zappos (around 5,000, no joke) and found only a handful of pairs that looked nice, were comfortable, and didn't cost an exorbitant amount. These are what I ended up with, and I couldn't be happier. The lining inside is very nice, it makes wearing very tall socks unnecessary, although I'll likely wear tights or taller socks with these anyways. The time will come soon when I will be ordering some of the less comfy looking styles I happened across, but I really wanted some that I could walk a lot in. Hoping they stay just as comfy as the first day.

After hundreds and hundreds of dollars spent on Zappos shoes over the years, this is my first review. I was waiting until a pair of kicks really blew me away, and these were the shoes I was waiting for.
First off, I usually wear an 81/2. A 9 is slightly too big and an 8 is slightly too small so it was up to chance ( and lots of customer reviews) that I decided to go with the smaller size. They fit perfectly. So I would say if you are usually a size between (since they don't come in 1/2 sizes) go for the smaller option.
Secondly, these boots are SUPER cute. and by cute, I mean adorably badass. The laces really do make all the difference. It seems strange that girly shoelaces can dress up such a masculine boot, but it's true. I wore them with a dress and they worked perfectly. I have only had them a few days, but I am sure they will look good with everything which is exactly what I was looking for when spending so much on a pair of shoes.
Thirdly, I waited to write a review until they stood the ultimate test of a perfect boot. work. I am employed at a very busy local cafe in New Orleans and we are ALWAYS busy which means I run around a ton. I definitely took a big chance wearing these for the first time to work on a Saturday but i was not disappointed. I ran around for 7-8 hours and my feet or back didn't hurt like usual at the end of the day. This was the second time I wore them, so it's true that they come feeling totally broken in.
I seriously love love love these boots. I would suggest them to anyone who likes just enough masculinity while still being feminine. The only downside of this purchase so far was that the other shoelaces came with a frayed end which makes it hard to lace...but for a few bucks I can fix that so no biggie. If you are thinking about buying these boots. stop thinking. just do it!

I love these boots. They do run a bit large, but they also don't cramp at the toes. I have high arches and there is enough room to put an instep insert in and they fit perfect! The Massai is a "dirtied" look in black and brown - both of these have the flowered pattern inside. The traditional colors have the tartan pattern inside. The Massai look is just white wax, it can be wiped off if its too much - but it does naturally wear off over time (you can also buy the wax and reapply if desired!). I have worn these up and folded over - they look great both ways. One of my fav's is a long skirt with the boots folded down.

These boots are gorgeous. They feel great right out of the box. They run a little wide which is great for me otherwise I'd just wear thicker socks. I love the satin laces too. They give a little feminine quality. They are true attention getters. Got several compliments from guys & girls. The leather is on the stiff side but not on the inside. Caused my feet no problems after standing and walking in them for over 4 hours. I have higher arches so I may put better support insoles inside but I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a low heeled statement boot. On top of that Zappos service got me my order in just 2 days! That's why this gets all 5 stars - few perfect things in life but this was one.

Don't hesitate. Order and try. These are exactly what I was wishing for and I wore them right out of the box. I haven't had a pair of Doc Martens since years ago. I remember them being heavier then the Born harness boots I wear all the time that fit like a soft leather glove and look amazing and have cush. The Triumphs hold my feet in a very solid way that I need. And plenty of room for my insoles which I wear in all my boots and shoes to give good arch support. I often have trouble with boots fitting the way I want around my calves which aren't that big and these fit great so don't worry if that's been an issue for you. Now for the way they look...so cute in every way. The ribbon tie is a wide satin ribbon closed on the end so it wont fray and can be laced easily through the rather large metal openings. At first I didn't like how large the lace openings were but I like them now. Lacing them is a project as others have said and there is no way to slip in to the boot without unlacing though I find I can slip out with only loosening half of them. I guess the bottom line is these are so cute and so fun and so great to have on the lacing is worth it. I got the black in a size 6 with the plaid lining. The are not heavy on my feet at all. The are solid tough looking and edgy with the surprise of the girly lacing.

I rarely write reviews, but I had to add my two cents. This is my third pair of Docs (my last pair was purchased in 1991) and they are a-freakin-mazing. They fit totally true to size, are thoroughly comfortable, and look like no other boots around. The ribbon laces are genius and the waxy coating is very cool and unique; you can buff it off to get more of the true leather color to show through, or, like me, leave it on and let it wear naturally as you wear the boots. The shape of the foot is slightly narrower than your average Doc Marten, adding some femininity without sacrificing interior width. Really, just so awesome, I'm so glad I bought these.

These boots are very 90's with the ribbon, with the standard wide laces (that come with as well) they are still a bit Tank Girl for me (cartoony, cheap) but if that is what you are going for you will love them. The greenish hue of the black/ grey is a little too unique. Nice fit, though upon first try-on, I did not keep them long.

Beautiful boots! I love that they came with ribbon laces as well as regular laces. I'm not very into the folded-over boot look, so I typically wear these without folding them. The mid-calf height is perfect to wear with skirts or jeans. I do have a few gripes, though. I find these boots to be a bit difficult to put on and have to really loosen up the laces to get my foot down into the boot part because my heel gets stuck every time! I'm hoping that this gets better as I break them in...and I will need to break them in. I'm typically a size 7-7.5US, but a size 6US (4UK) fits perfectly and I still have room for thick socks.

There are things I have to say about it. They are adorable, but make no mistake, they are Doc Martens. They make your feet look big, and while the cut at the top is very feminine, it frames the fattest part of your calf. I wear a 7 1/2 American shoe exactly. I fit perfectly into every 7 1/2 shoe I tried on. Some of the reviews suggested that the shoe ran large, so I was going to try for a size 7, but they ran out of stock in everything but a size 5 and 8 (UK size 6) so I went ahead and ordered the 8. I would not be able to fit into a seven. This 8 is a perfect size 8. The side of the boot elongates your foot a lot, as Docs do. Many of the reviews suggested that the leather was soft, with an already worn-in feel, but mine don't feel that way. That's okay, I don't mind breaking in my boot to fit me, but keep in mind that not all of them feel like this. I was also under the impression that the floral part would have a soft silky texture- I don't know why, it just looks like it from the pictures. It doesn't. The ribbon shoe laces are really really cute, and surprisingly durable. They will fray eventually, but not as soon as you think ribbons will pulling against tough work boot leather. I wish they sold half sizes because I feel like this is a lot of boot for my average foot, But I also feel like once I get to wear them, and break them in and get comfortable in them, I will rock them despite this feeling of bigness. And if you are a half size smaller than your shoe-you're just lucky enough to wear winter socks under your favorite boots in the wintertime. One last thing to note- the effect of the Black Massai is really cool, and that's why I got it. When they arrived, the toe of one boot is like 20 shades lighter than the toe of the other. It doesn't necessarily look bad, but this might cause problems for some people who are uptight about being symmetrical. Anyway, these are great boots. Very cute. I'm excited to get used to them and for them to get used to me.

I wear a 10 - 10.5 in most shoes but usually an 11 in boots. I liked the style of these boots and the length. But I found them uncomfortable and a little narrow in the toe (I need a little wiggle room). They rubbed against the side of my pinky toe. I love Zappos because I try them out and return them if they aren't a perfect fit. I recommend trying them out. Lots of people seem to like them. I used to live in Dr Martens in my teens and early twenties (a pair of British-made Ox Blood boots). These have that same Dr Marten style but not the same comfort, for me anyway. I have a friend who has these in red and she loves them.
