Writing this review specific to the new wide calf sizing for anyone wondering! They are beautiful boots and the wide calf is amazing! At varying weights, I've always had wide calves - currently prob 18-18.5" circumference. These fit great on me up and around jeans with even some extra room so it doesn't look like sausage casing on my legs. So glad wrist extended their sizing! Can't wait to wear these out! Shipping was super fast too.

I've had my Ariat boots for about 4-5 years now and have taken them hiking all over the US. There are lots of things I love about these boots, but there are a few things I've learned over the years that have helped me to get the most use out of them as well. 1. They are great for protecting your toes and supporting your ankles. I am so clumsy and stub my toe on everything. I also have terribly weak ankles and roll them often, but love challenging hikes. These boots always ensure that I never have to worry about either of those things. They are super tough and give great support and *knock on wood* haven't hurt my feet or my ankles yet because of them. 2. With that said, they are such good quality. As I previously mentioned, I've had mine for awhile now and they are just as sturdy/stiff as when I first bought them. I've put them through some serious hell, so these boots are long-lasting. Have yet to have any problems with ripping, tearing, or fraying. Even the shoelaces look as perfect as when I first got them. 3. They're so stylish. Maybe that doesn't matter to some, but they are easy to clean and look good with literally any gear. I always feel confident and prepared in these bad boys. 4. The options with a leather upper have very little breathability. This just means that your feet will sweat more and you will be more likely to get blisters. At first, I thought the blistering was due to having to wear in the boots, but later realized it's just a lack of air flow. To make up for this, I use sock liners and blister covers and I don't have any problems. For this reason alone, I am SO glad I did not purchase the waterproof version. I can only imagine how stifling those things can get. 5. Another thing I've noticed is that the shoelaces become loose pretty easily. I would probably recommend getting a better set of laces, as loosening shoelaces can also cause some blistering when hiking. 6. Something other people have noted the lack of traction on these boots. I think the most important point is that the tread on these boots is not made for every single type of terrain. For example, I love taking these out in the rain on trails that have sticky mud or grippy surfaces. I would not, however, take these on trails that have a lot of loose rock or gravel, rain or shine, as it will be more likely for you to slip due to lack of traction. I think this is overall a small inconvenience as I do not expect one pair of shoes to get me through every sort of terrain. I can typically wear these boots for about 80% of my hiking activities, and that's good enough for me. Overall, I have absolutely loved these boots. They've taken me to some pretty cool places. Hopefully I won't be needing to buy a new pair anytime soon, but, if I did, I would definitely purchase these same exact boots a second time.

Just bought and tried on but not worn it yet. Looks to be beautiful quality so hope it wears like my last two pairs. I wear around the barn, kept my feet dry in mud and rain.

I love Ariat boots. I have a few pair of cowboy boots already. This is my first pair of FATBABY boots and I love them! Great fit and comfortable for every day wear.

I have a really hard time finding boots that fit. #1 I have wide feet. #2 my feet and ankles swell. #3 my calves are 19 inches around. Well, these boots covered all the problems wonderfully! Oh and they are so comfortable!!! I have a black pair and brown pair and I LOVE them!!! True to size (I'm an 8.5 wide) I won't ever wear another brand of boots!

Ordered a 10 wide with wide calf and literally can't even get it on my foot. Extremely narrow. Wide and wide calf would fit someone with narrow feet only.

I have purchased two pair of these boots. They were very comfortable. I use them every day all day working on my ranch. Both pairs only lasted about 5 to 6 months. They crack and wear out in the crease where they bend at the base of your toes. Very good boot if you do not plan on using them much, for the occasional hike or weekend use. For me too expensive for the time I get out of them.

. . . in these boots. These are not marketed specifically as paddock boots, but I school in these 3-4 days a week. They can stand up to horsewashing and at least three inches of mud. Even in a couple of inches of pasture water, my feet stay dry. Two years in they are just beginning to show stitching wear at the base of the tongue. Easy to hose off, too. If you work at a barn in a dirt- or dust-heavy area, get leather instead of suede.

First of all I'm a carpenter and granted, I do only wear my boots at work during the cooler months, I give them hell during that time. On a roof carrying lumber, up and down latter's and cutting wood. Anything you can think of when building a house, I do it! And no other shoe can do all those things for me and keep my feet warm. Hemce the name fatbbay, I can layer socks and fit thermals down in the boot. I do have tonsay they aren't as roomy as they were 5 years ago but still enough. The bartender isn't anywhere near as rough on shoes as I am just in winter and I've never had a single issue. I think she just may have gotten a bad apple and hey, it happens. I'm sure Ariat made it right. You can not find a more reliable and comfortable boot. Thanks Ariat.

Have worn Ariat terrain boots for many, many, years. I really like them. However, I would rather have these boots in a zip up style. Last two pair I purchased were zip and prefer them over the tie boots. These were true to size and arrived very quicky. What happened to the zip style?

I have been wearing Fat Baby Boot since the first time I tried a pair on. They are great. They hold up to constant wear and abuse well. Even during times when I really wished I would have grough a pair of snow boots, the Fat Baby Boot have held up well.

34 yrs ago I bought my first pair...still have them. Bought a new pair in early 2000's....still have them. Most comfortable boot ever in my mind. Hiking, ranch work, riding. Decided to get me some new ones cuz the old timers have long ago puppy chewed ankle area and looking a tad old---still wearable for real dirty jobs though. Over the years my feet have widened. I bought 2 pair knowing they don't come in a wide, only medium. Got em and they were tight. I could get em on but really too snug/uncomfortable. So I bought me a pair of shoe stretchers and hippee.....that did the trick. LOVE my new Terrain boots just as much as the old timers. filling out this review, at the bottom they ask how the size and width fits. doesn't allow me to add to their standard answers. For my feet, I had to stretch em.

I have never worn a pair of cowboy boots in my life until I got these. I never considered myself a boot girl. But OML these are not only adorable but comfortable and they look absolutely FANTASTIC with Ariat straight-leg jeans! These are my go-to boots for everything now. LOVE THEM! Order a half-size smaller than your sneaker size.

These boots, just like every other pair of Ariats I've ever worn are nothing short of excellent. They are light-years above any other brand of cowboy boot I've ever worn. What other Cowboy style boot can you go walk around in for a week in Gatlinburg and not have sore, aching, blistered feet. I've even worn them hiking on multiple occasions. Just give them a few days of wearing to get them started molding to your feet and you'll be in love.

I needed a boot for this fall and really liked the look of this one and the glowing reviews it got, especially the short break in time. Unfortunately I am experiencing some heal rubbing and dont know what to do to help it. Any ideas?
