These are my first pair of Avia walking shoes. Up until recently, I didn't know that Avia made walking shoes, but I have had a few pairs of their running shoes that I bought from a sporting goods store over the years. They have all been great shoes, so when I found the brand on Zappos, I was thrilled. Zappos has a much bigger selection of Avia than any of the local stores. These shoes turned out to be terrific. They fit very securely and have good arch support. I now use these for both walking and running on the treadmill. I am not crazy about the look of these shoes, but they are so comfortable that I don't mind. Now that I know that Zappos carries them, I look forward to trying out some of the other Avia styles.

The AVIA 339 has great arch support. The increased arch support really takes the stress off of the knees if you spend a lot of time on concrete. Great as a casual work shoe. For the last two years I have been ordering ahead and keeping an extra new pair in the closet.

Comfortable, well fitting, good-looking, and inexpensive. Transaction with Zappos was flawless!

Arch support. This is a great overall shoe with really well defined arch support. The A339M has the best arch support that I've ever felt in a shoe. Great for people with low arches or flat feet. It is categorized as a walker, but I see no reason you can't go to the gym with it. I just purchased a few pairs of Avia crosstrainers. They all feel really solid. I have finally found a brand that supports my feet. If you're like me and have become dissatisfied with Asics crosstrainers (what happened to their product is a mystery), then move on to Avia. Plus, Avia is much cheaper.

Comfort - The shoe is very comfortable. I have edema and my feet swell up. I ordered wide and also a half size larger. They’re great.

Great walking shoes! These are awesome walking shoes! So light and comfy. I am a girl with huge feet so I ordered 11 7/2 men's size they are really bulky, but so so extremely comfy!

I have purchased shoes from Zappos.com before and knew that I would receive the shoes that I ordered immediately and without any problems.

Outstanding value. After buying my first pair and wearing them for a few days I ordered a second pair. Very comfortable and easy to break in.

These are comfotable but unfortunately fell apart after only a few months of occasional wearing. They came apart at the seam!

I have had heel pain (Plantar fasciitis) for the past six months in my right foot. I started to get heel pain in my left foot. My wife has been using these shoes for several years now and kept telling me to get the A339M. I finally ordered them from Zappos because they had the best price and free shipping! What a difference these shoes have made! I am a big guy and I had just shelled out a considerable amount for inserts for my other shoes and they seemed all right at first but my heel pain never went away. I have been wearing these Avia shoes for about four days now and have no heel pain when I walk or stand. I should have listened to my wife sooner. Thanks, Avia, and, Zappos, for great shoes and service. You have a new customer!

These are very lightweight. They are good for speed walking so far, I probably have 40 miles on them. They felt a little narrower than I was expecting but they seem to be forming to my foot, which is a bit wider than normal.

These shoes are really comfortable for walking. Great arch support as well. I ordered a half size larger as some reviewers suggested for Avia shoes. They were right on. You cannot beat these for comfort, support and inexpensive to own. Try these and you won't regret it!

Wish they made a EEEEEE width. These are a little tight for me. I have tendency to run shoes over to the side. Very light! Good arch support and heel spur cushioning.

A great shoe for the price! At work, I stand and walk alot. I wore old tennis shoes or boots and my arches would cramp in my sleep. After wearing these shoes, I was amazed at how my feet felt after an 8 hour shift. After 2 weeks, they were broke in and I wonder why I waited so long to get new shoes. These are great shoes with very good arch support. Treat yourself! You can afford to!

These are comfortable shoes, but the width is a little narrower than expected for the 4E size that I purchased.

Hello Zappos shoppers! While I had read the other reviews and saw that these shoes had a high arch, I didn't quite realize how high it really was. I've tried to get used to wearing these shoes, but the high arch is rather difficult for me to get used to. If you like high arches, you'll like these shoes. My low comfort rating is based on this fact alone - otherwise a good nice shoe.

These shoes were way too narrow! I purchased a 4E pair and unfortunately they felt closer to an extra wide or maybe 2E. I got stuck with them as my only pair of shoes on a trip out of town other than work shoes, so for the majority of the week my feet were killing me. Know that they are at least 2 width sizes smaller than stated. Zappos, as always, was great with the return.

These shoes would probably be better for light use. I wanted them to walk the dog every day for a couple of miles per day and I am finding that they don't have the cushiness or support that I require. They feel worn out after only a couple of weeks.

I bought a pair of these in 1993 and am still wearing them 11 years later as my favorite shoe for work every day. The shoelace began to fray a couple of years ago. Now in 2014 the veneer has begun to crack and peel and the Avia nameplates peeled off the bottom of the sole. They are still my most comfortable shoe. It is time to get some new ones. I hope they still make them like they used to.

These are the best sneakers I've ever owned - they are very comfortable and fairly lightweight. They appear to be of good quality material and workmanship.

These are the most comfortable shoes I have ever worn. Lightweight, good looking, no break in, just put them on and go. I am on my third pair and don't know what I will do if they quit making them. Zappos service is amazing. I ordered around 3pm on Tuesday, and UPS delivered them around 4pm the next day. Unbeatable service!

I have written other reviews about the company and the sneaker. Nothing has changed - I'm sure people will agree with me that this sneaker is one fantastic value and you would be hard pressed to find a more dedicated and professional company to deal with.
