I was skeptical about which size to order with all the varying reviews. I normally wear between an 8 1/2 and a 9 in regular shoes. I have a narrow foot and (I am only recently realizing) small calves, and the size 8 fit great in these. They are a little more snug with the welly socks and just a little loose without them, but they stay on my feet in both instances. Absolute lifesaver in snow and rain!

After exhaustive research I sprung for the Hunters despite everyone seeming to have them. I must say they are great rain boots. I walk 2 miles each way to and from work and they have saved me! Very durable, comfortable for to wear for long periods. Fit as expected. Would definitely recommend!

I love them! Cannot say enough good things about them. I live in Park City, Utah and I use them everyday. I just wear thick socks, and never feel the cold. They are great to play in the snow because they come up so high. I am usually a 8 1/2 - 9 and the 9s fit perfectly! Zappos was awesome in every aspect and I highly recommend them!

Although I love these boots, they are not a good fit for me. I am not a big person, but I do have about 30 lbs to lose after having a baby. I have swollen calves right now and the boots do not fit over my calves. I have an athletic build and normally run a lot, but even being at my normal weight, 130lbs, I sometimes have problems with these boots being too tight around my calves. They do not stretch at all. I wish I could wear these because the are so cute and come in so many great colors! I ordered the Navy Blue which is a great color and change from my everyday black. It is just the right amount of color. Too bad I cannot wear them.

These are great boots. Period. They are a classic, and they always look good. They are functional and keep your feet dry. They're comfortable. I almost always wear a 7.5 and sometimes I wear an 8. I ordered the 8, and they fit perfectly.

I am usually an 8.5 and I have a very narrow foot. The size 8 was good in the width but I ended up purchasing the Hunter Original in a 9 for the length and it worked out very well. I can make up for some of the extra width by wearing a thick sock or the Hunter Welly Sock. If your calves are on the larger side, it might be a tight fit for you around the leg. Great boot overall, perfect combination of functionality and fashion!

The boots are great! They look good and feel great. I bought Hunter fleece socks, and my feet were dry and warm. I live in NYC and we've had a lot of snow. Also I thought customer service was excellent as I had to return the merchandise for a larger size. Personnel was efficient and very professional. Thank you.

These boots are amazing! They look good and feel very comfortable. I can also wear them in the snow with insulated socks as well as the rain. I am a size 7 1/2, and I ordered a US size 7/38/UK 5. It fit well with a bit of extra room and almost as if it could be a full size larger than marked. I have small calves so I loved the oversize fit on my calves. I love these boots!

I'll add my voice to the chorus: Hunter boots are fantastic! I waited for a long time to buy these, trying to justify the expense. The day they arrived I donated my old LL Bean Wellies. They just felt huge and clunky and uncomfortable compared with these supple, orthopedic Hunter boots. It feels more like I'm wearing sneakers than boots when I use these boots, and I've walked miles in them with no discomfort whatsoever. As for the fit, I originally ordered a size down (I usually wear 8 1/2 to 9, so I tried an 8), but found that they were much, much too tight with anything but the thinnest socks. The size 9 was perfect - I am an average sized person with normal calves (neither super skinny nor particularly bulky and muscular) and these fit nicely with an inner sock - the Hunter Striped Welly Sock - and skinny jeans tucked in. The 9s are a little loose in the foot, but this means that the seams on the welly socks do not chafe, and I've had no discomfort from the extra space. I've also found that the extra space seems to act as insulation in the boot, making these boots very warm for winter use (with the welly socks). With thin socks in warmer seasons, the extra space gives a little air flow so my feet don't overheat. These boots are incredibly comfortable and stylish. The aubergine color is classy but has a little personality, and the long line makes my short calves look longer. I would highly recommend these boots - I've hardly stopped wearing them since they arrived, and I find myself hoping for wet/snowy weather so I can show off their waterproof qualities!

I just bought these after deliberating for way too long, mainly fretting about the calf size and worrying it would be too small. Now that I have them and love them. I would like to provide the calf size information I wish I had pre-purchase: my calves are "large"- about 15 1/2 inches around. Zappos has the circumference of these at 15 1/2 inches I think, which of course made me nervous. These boots fit! They 'just' fit and are quite snug, but not ridiculous or uncomfortable. I can fit them under jeans and again, tight, but not embarrassingly so. I wear tall socks with them (just tall wool socks, not wellie warmers) and scrunch them around the top to sort of camouflage the snugness. I hope that helps anyone out there with the same issue! Also one more thing, I ordered these at maybe 4PM and they magically arrived the next afternoon!

I bought these for my wife, and she loves them. She has a hard time finding rain boots because she wears a size 11 woman's, but the equivalent man's boots never fit due to their width. These fit perfectly. The pink ones look bright and cheery for those rainy days. The only other thing I can say (because they aren't my boots) is that she says "these make my legs look a mile long!" I agree.

The best boots ever! You will enjoy them in the rain and snow. If you are tall, they come just below the knee and keep your entire lower leg warm and dry.

Great rain boot. Love my boots. Keep feet very dry and the soles are slip resistant which is great for me.

These are my new favorite boots. They are perfect for the wet Ohio weather that I have to deal with. They are functional and stylish at the same time. I wear them all the time and they are really comfortable for the long haul. I get compliments about my boots every time I wear them. They are worth the money when you compare them to other cheap rubber boots that won't hold up in the long run.

Another five-star review among thousands. I got these on my way to Boston in the winter, and they were perfect. I don't often need warmth in winter boots, but when I do, thick socks in these work perfectly. I plan to wear them for years and years. They fit very nicely around my calves, which as far as I know are average-sized; but too snugly to tuck pants into (not a problem for me).

Love these boots! Went with the smaller size because they run a little bit big. In many other brands I tend to wear 6 1/2 or 7 but these I am wearing a 6. Not afraid to get into some puddles this spring!

These boots are now a staple in my wardrobe. I always wear them with leggings and they can even dress down a summer dress and tights. Love them.

Great, great rain/snow shoes. I live in NYC and these are perfect for trekking around the city, in the winter I use the fleece liners to keep my feet warm. When the fleece liners are out, the shoe feels a little bigger than size marked but I think that is so you can use the liners (which are worth it).

These boots are exactly what was described, and exactly what I needed this winter; warm enough when worn with Hunter socks to be in the snow and perfect for city streets for keeping your feet dry when walking through puddles...and all with style that is timeless!

Love them! These are a must have in everyone's closet! I even bought a pair for my four year old. They are high enough for her to walk in the huge puddles without getting all wet. I'm in NY and the weather has been horrible... the Hunters were well worth the money spent! Also order a size down because they run big.

For those of you worried about sizing: I bought these as a gift for my girlfriend, who wears a size 8 in most shoes. I took what seemed like the majority of advice with regards to sizing and purchased the boots in a size smaller (a 7) than her usual, but that turned out to be a mistake - they were just plain too tight. We exchanged them for a size 8, which turned out to be quite a good fit, with thick socks or without. She loves them. Obviously, there is a lot of advice floating around, and the range is huge. So I can make no suggestion other than to order from Zappos - their customer service is ace, and their shipping is lightning fast. I can't imagine anyone else being so accommodating.

I live in Connecticut, and the snow has been horrendous this winter, to say the least! They were sold out in the nearby mall so I opted to try these. At the time they ran out of the graphite gray so I decided that perhaps some color would be unique! I was not disappointed! These dark purple boots are a gem. I walk through the snow and slush and even sometimes an icy parking lot for work, and these get me to the door safely. Did I forget to mention that I'm over 6 months pregnant, and these boots are pretty comfortable? I get compliments on these boots all the time! I am normally a size 7 1/2 to 8, but I opted to purchase the size 7 (even for a pregnant lady). It fit just right. It takes a few times to get the boots to adjust to your feet to slip on and off, but well worth it knowing that they will keep you feet dry and secure through the snow, even for here in CT.

Wore these for a weekend in Boston in the snow and slush. They kept my feet warm and dry while looking fabulous. Definitely buy the socks made to wear with them.

These boots are fantastic. I ordered them in a half size larger than I normally wear. I've worn them in heavy rain and in the winter with the fleece liners (in my correct size).
