Super cute, but pretty stiff in the ankle/calf (even when tied loosely). I got some serious blisters on the back of my legs the first time out for a walk so I have not tried them again. I plan to use them on non-walk adventures for a while and am hoping they get more flexible in time.

I really want to keep these boots, but I have high arch and hardly could get my foot in. Once it is in, the length and width are good. Decided to return them.

I have had these boots for about 3 winters now. They keep my feet warm and dry which is great, but they are so wide! I do not have wide feet, so they feel very clunky when I wear them even with my thick warm socks. I definitely cannot drive while wearing them.

It's a fashionable winter boots. But it's difficult to put on and take off. And it's a bit heavy, not good for wearing it for walking around whole day. But it's nice for heavy snow day.

I was so looking forward to wearing the Sorel boots that my husband got me for Christmas. While the boots live up to their name for warmth and water proofing, getting them on and off is a chore. The turn at the ankle is too narrow - and a sharp edge inside one boot scrapes the skin each time I put them on (I'm not overweight). I would buy Sorel again, but with more caution.

As a longtime owner of Tofino boots, I decided to upgrade to the Joan of Arctics for a warmer and more heavy duty option. Was disappointed to find while warm they are very heavy and difficult to walk in compared to the Tofinos. Additionally, I have been unable to break them in despite repeated wear and they consistently cause blisters. Had hoped for more with this more expensive option.

I couldn't get my feet into these boots so I can't tell you anything about them other than that they looked good.

I normally wear a size 11. The boot was so small I could not even get my foot into the boot, barefoot without a sock! The ankle portion was so narrow I could not even get my foot in. Will return and try a size 12.

Even though these boots have a nice removable insole, overall the boot needed to have sturdier sides to support my daily 5 mile walks.

I've had these for a couple of years and can never wait to wear them because they are so pretty. The only thing I found extremely disappointing, though, is that I find they have very little traction. So while I love to wear them, I have to be selective. I can wear them on plowed and shoveled streets but not sledding with the kids. I wish I could wear these all winter, but I find myself looking for something a little more surefooted in the snow.

I do love the style of these boots, but when it comes to warmth and ease of getting in and out of them I'm not a fan. Unless I'm wearing thick wool socks, my feet easily get cold in these boots. I can almost feel the cold radiating up through the rubber soles. They take some effort to get on and off - maybe a 1/2 size larger would improve this. Or a side zip.

I love the look of these boots but I have two issues with them 1) when you take them off the liner always pulls out and it's not easy to get back in. Eventually the snaps that supposedly are there for the purpose of keeping the liner in place will fail and then it's gonna be expensive if not impossible to fix. 2) the sole is not meant for icy conditions, not nearly enough tread for that. Other than that they are nice boots for winter in Idaho.

I am very pleased with how the boot looks and that it keeps my foot warm. Unfortunately, it is VERY snug when sliding your foot into the boot. My foot barely makes it around the bent part to slide into the flat part of the boot. Once my foot is in the boot, it fits great.

I bought these for taking walks here in beautiful Bozeman, Montana. Unfortunately, the tread design is more for rain (and maybe that was in the description) and not ice. Also, I bought my usual Sorel size of 6.5 but it was too short in the toe even though I wear thin socks year-round. I'd like more of a heel since walking in any flat shoe hurts my calves (years of wearing heels to work). If you live in a rainy, wet and muddy climate these would work but not for snow and ice.

I ordered the dark grey in a size 9. I agree that there had to have been some kind of trick to getting your foot in them. Winter ski and tubing weekends with kids are stressful enough without holding up the group because you can get your boots on. Secondly, once on, they are extremely heavy and bulky. The quality is solid, though. However, I feel like I could not walk well in the snow or get around easily in them. Lastly, they are not very feminine. I felt like I was wearing men's work boots. They were very wide and bulky overall, but the foot fit fine. I sent them back for something lighter and I was glad I did, because I am already clumsy in the snow. Maybe they are cuter on a smaller foot?
I'd also recommend:

I have the Sorel boots in a different collection which I absolutely love! We live in the Colorado mountains so I use them all the time. They keep my feet super warm and dry. I purchased these in the same size, however the Joan of Arc are way too big. So have to send them back.

I have several pairs of Sorels and they keep my feet warm walking the dog in CO winters. I loved the green color and the height of these boots. However I returned them. I did not like that the fur is not removable. I am also used to more cushion and a thicker sole. This sole felt flat (prone to slipping on ice) and too close to the ground. It's probably just because I am not used to it but I didn't want to take a chance and returned them.

I have a lot of Sorel shoes. This is my first pair of this style. I had a very hard time getting these shoes on. I had to change into thin socks and really pull as hard as I could. They are super tight around the ankle as your foot is going in. Once they are on, they fit good. They are true to size and warm. They are a little wider than I would have liked. They make my feet look wider than normal. I loved the style and warmth of the boot so much that I kept them. I just wear thin socks when I wear these. Not sure if I received a faulty pair, or if all of them are manufactured with a tight ankle upon entry.

I liked but didn’t love these boots enough to keep them. They are a bit clunky and heavy for me.

Struggled to get foot in past ankle once on was ok. Just don’t see taking 15 minutes to get on and had to have pulled off. Live the look

These are my third pair of Sorels, the first two were so comfortable, warm, and of such high quality that despite wanting them for years, my other pairs were still holding strong and I had trouble justifying buying them. I finally pulled the trigger this winter and while they're still incredibly comfortable, but compared to past pairs, they're not as warm and they fit much larger.
I live in Northwestern Pennsylvania and our winters are brutal, even with wool socks, these aren't as warm as pairs I've owned in the past. They also fit much larger.
Honestly I would return them, but I immediately wore them outside without considering I wouldn't like them because I had had such good experiences in the past.

I have been wearing North Face snow boots for years and recently borrowed a friend’s Sorel boots for a ski trip. I thought they were warm, stylish and comfortable, and decided to get my own own pair. I am soooo disappointed because I absolutely love the look of these boots but the instep is so low that I can’t get my foot in. I ordered a 6.5 which is the same size as my friend’s boots and the size I normally wear. I do have a high instep and sometimes boots are a little tight on top of my foot but I’ve never not even been able to get my foot in the boot. Odd.

Looking for lace-up snow boots as I can’t get pull-on boots on since my ankle surgery. Unfortunately was not able to get these on because they didn’t open up wide enough. Back they went... :(
