Hot in every way - Every time I wear these boots, I get compliments. They go great with tight jeans tucked in, or baggier ones rolled up. One friend told me they have a supermodel look on, which you'd never guess from the pic. I did go a half-size larger as recommended by others, and I'm not 100% certain that was the right choice, but they're still incredibly comfortable, attractive, and do the winter trick.

These are the best boots as I live in upstate NY where it snows, sleets, and rains during this time of year all the time! Perfecto!!

Comfy boots - When I wear these with thin socks, they're a tiny bit loose, but no problem. Thicker socks, they're perfect. I love these!

Cozy winter boots - These Sorel boots are both cute and functional. Not as bulky as they look online (but definitely not as sleek as regular city boots). They are amazingly warm and comfortable and I love the fur trim. Be aware that they run a little large. I'm a solid size 8 and the boots felt like a 9. I sent them back and got a size 7 and they were perfect! I did have to work at it to get my foot in, and I admit at one point I didn't think my instep would make it, but once it did, they were perfect! I am a huge fan of Sorel, so I'm excited to have these boots for snowshoeing, hiking, sledding, and to wear after skiing and snowboarding. They are cute enough to wear around town too! Zappos next-day shipping is amazing - as always.

Very warm - These boots are heavy duty yet still attractive. They do run a little big.

Awesome Boots - These are the warmest, most comfortable boots I've ever had. Not to mention they're super cute, too!

Truly fashion-functional - These are so warm my feet sweat! But they're worth it...the weather hasn't gotten extremely brutal yet, but I suspect these boots will take care of me. The only problem is that they're a bit cumbersome in taking them off, but they will make up for it in the snow and slush. They're bulky but girly nonetheless.

Fashion meets comfort! I often buy size 9 shoes (with heels) or 8.5wide. I purchased a size 8 on Tuesday and I'm wearing them tonight (Thursday) and they feel great! Very toasty & totally cute. They'll be great when we go camping over Thanksgiving week, ski lodge this winter, Christmas shopping in Tahoe! So well made I know I'll wear them for years... Love 'em

Sorels rock! Having lived in cold weather climates before, I am no stranger to Sorel boots. I would not buy any other when you want warmth, comfort, and style. The Joan of Arctic boots are no exception. They look awesome and the fit will be perfect with heavy socks. I usually wear an 8 ½, but got the sz 8 and they are still roomy, so I would order down. I now live in Tahoe and it hasn't snowed much yet, but I can already tell the quality lives up to the Sorel standard. I highly recommend them!

Love them!!! I have to tell you my husband’s first reaction when he saw these boots - Wow, those are some cool looking boots!!!! I can't wait for us to get hit with some more snow so I can wear these boots. The design is great! They have the classic Sorel look with some femininity and flare thrown in. As far as the size and width, I typically go between a size 8 and 8 1/2 (more towards 8 1/2 these days). I first ordered a size 9 but they were too big. I ordered a size 8 and they fit perfect. The width is just right and there is still enough room for me to put on a thick pair of socks. I could not decide if I wanted the black or oatmeal color - have to say I am very happy I chose the black. I am so excited about these boots!!!! Can't wait to show them off.

Great Snow boot - Thanks Zappos for getting these to me before Christmas! You think ordering the day before Christmas EVE it would come after Christmas, but they came the next day on Christmas EVE and I was so happy to have them before Christmas since it was a present from my mom! Now about the boot...I love them. They are totally adorable snow boots. They are a little heavy though so I wouldn't recommend spending an entire day in them. I love that the lining with the fur trim comes out of the boot, so you can wash it. I think in the spring I'll try wearing them without the lining as rain boots. They are pretty bulky and run a little large. I got a size 7 and I usually wear a 7 1/2 and they fit perfectly. Got these in the cream color and love them.

If you need to keep your feet warm & dry, look no further - I bought these for a romantic getaway in the mountains. My husband and I went on a 3 hour hike in the forest tromping in thick fresh powder snow and my feet were warm and dry without a single discomfort the entire time. Don't let the laces fool you, I pretty much slipped in and out of these (with a tug or two). Plenty of room for an additional pair of socks. I was complemented twice on these boots in one day, in snow country where they see a lot of boots! Perfect.

Wearing them EVERYWHERE! These are the best boots I have ever owned. I reach for them every day as I'm walking out the door. They keep my feet dry and are toasty warm. Very comfortable too!

The best boots I've ever owned - These boots are great! They are roomy which allows me to wear even my thickest wool socks without my feet feeling squished. They keep your feet warm and dry even trudging through slush and snowbanks. They even make shoveling a little less of a chore. Ok, I'll admit maybe that is stretching the truth just a bit. I hate to shovel snow but now at least I don't have to put plastic bags on my feet to keep them dry! And as for looks, I get at least one compliment a day! The b

Very good shoe - This is a really cute shoe that is super comfortable. It is also pretty supportive to the foot. My feet were definitely warm enough. I’m not that tall so the shoe hits about mid calf.

Great boot! I love Sorel! Waterproof is terrific! It is definitely wide fitting, but I still took my original size - do not need to go up. There is just room for your toes. I think they will be very warm boots, which is great because I just need something for the cold winter months.

Very cute boots that are well made. The only problem is, they are not comfortable for my slightly wide foot. They say they run "true to size", so I bought my usual 6.5, but they were tight around the shovel of my foot. Comfort is important when your feet are tired from skiing, or when you're walking through the snow. If Sorel offered a wide width, I think they'd sell quickly. Sadly, I had to return.

This is a well-made beautiful boot, with heavy laces, nice suede, and thick rubber bottoms. The only problem is, they are not comfortable. The length seems right, but they are narrow in the shovel of my foot. I have wider than normal feet, so I was going to go up 1/2 size for comfort, but the AI on the Zappos site said they did not recommend size 7, and they recommended size 6.5 (based on my past orders I guess). So, I ordered the 6.5 and they were tight. When I take off my ski boots to put these on, I want them soft, comfortable and cozy, and these are not, so I will be returning them. I should also add they have no arch support, so might not be good for walking long distances. They are very cute, so I might recommend them for narrower feet.

I purchased my first Sorel boots over 10 years ago (Cate the Great). Cate the Great unfortunately seems to have been discontinued but I wore them during Snow-mageddon in Seattle, WA. It was definitely easier to walk to where to where you needed to go in my neighborhood. These Joan of Arctic boots are *almost* as cute. But I'm also really liking some of the new details like the tongue that is the same material and color as the rest of the boot and attached, so that snow doesn't get in from the side and there's no need for re-centering. I also wear these in the rain since the bottom "shoe" portion is rubber and the footbed is comfortable and warm. When walking in the rain in the fall/winter, the streets are freezing and uninsulated boots are freezing (you might as well be bare foot). I did the Hunters with the fleece sock liners and it wasn't enough. If you're only in and out in the rain/snow, that's different. Something so "heavy duty" may be a bit much.

I love Sorel boots (great out east and PNW). My first purchase was a pair of Cate the Great boots, which Sorel doesn't make anymore. The only thing I didn't love was that the tongue kept shifting. That is solved in this Joan of Arctic pair. It still has the faux fur that comes out of the top and the waterproof "shoe portion". The thing that really surprised me when the boots arrived was how perfectly it fit. I am a true 5.5 and I had ordered a size 6. I won't be wearing these with thicker socks like I used to. Instead it will be a zero cushion wool sock.
