I bought these boots for one of my rare trips into the snow- this time circumpolar north, in Norway. I like the way they look and that I can put orthotics inside, and that they are not too heavy. After 2 weeks slogging about in snow and slush I can say that they are waterproof and reasonably warm. But not warm enough for long periods of standing outside and honestly they already show signs of wear after only a couple of weeks. I put stretch crampons over them to manage the ice. If I lived in a truly freezing cold place these boots would be inadequate. And I agree with other reviewers who are disappointed at the steep drop-off in the quality of Sorel's boots. They seems to be far more fashion oriented than durable.

I felt I needed to review as it took me a long time going through others reviews before finally deciding on boot brand and size. I have been wearing Sorels for over 25 years and they are not the same 'ole boot I wore outside in Minnesota winters at a 19 year old lift operator. With that being said I still feel that they are some of the best designed out there and after reviewing many brands, talking to my sister who still lives on the Minnesota slopes and reading reviews I went with the Joan of Arctic. I live in the PNW and get snow about once a year and make it to the mountains when I can. JoA will be fine for me. I am a true 6.5 shoe size. I feel like so many people either are unaware of their true shoe size (and weight) or lie. I ordered a 6.5 and it fits like a 6.5 with wool socks that I wear all winter long. If you are going to be out in below zero, you may want a half size bigger for extra wool socks.

Fit was true to size with room for a heavier "boot type" sock. LOVE these boots!! A bit hard to wiggle into as they are steep to get your foot down into, but once on you'll never want to take them off! I love them and wear them every chance I get. I also get tons of compliments on them and they are super warm and comfortable! So glad I finally bought a pair!

Nothing about this boot met my expectations! So bummed because they "look" like they are gonna be great. I'm from Maine, there's lots of snow and ice. There is zero traction in this boot, the tread is flat and hard (they even slipped on the carpet). I could hardly get my foot through the ankle part of the boot- even when the boot was loosened all the way. I don't have weird or giant feet! The faux fur was very cheap looking too. Footbed was flat and non supportive. Kind of disappointed because Sorel is usually a great brand.

I have moved from a size 9 to 9.5, and most recently to a 10 being the most comfortable. I read reviews and thought I'd be safe with a 10, as I've never worn anything bigger than that. The 10's were a bit snug, to my disbelief, and I sent them back and got a 10.5, which fit perfectly. I hope they hold up well because they are quite an investment.

The boots are really nice. Great quality, stylish and warm. They just fit a bit too wide on my foot. I am still pleased with them. I just have to wear much thicker socks.

I’m usually between 7 and 7.5 depending on the shoe. The 7 fits perfectly

Exactly what my daughter was looking for - and available in 1/2 sizes! We prefer the sorel styles with removable linings as they are warmer than those without, due to the air space between the lining and the boot. Also convenient because you can replace the lining when it gets worn. Quick shipment!

I am 5’11” and wear a size 12W/13M. These fit me well, which means they are probably wider for most average women. They don’t have a lot of arch support, but I do like them. The lining does come out and can be purchased separately when they wear out. I’m contemplating getting an insert and putting it under the felt lining for more arch support. These are so warm! I live in Virginia and bought them more for fashion and for the occasional snow days we get. But they are perfect for people who live in super cold areas. As some have said, you do need to adjust the laces when taking them off and putting them back on in order to get your foot in and out. Overall. I’m giving them a 4 simply because I wish they had arch support.

They are good material, a little hard to put but keep your feet warm and dry they don’t slip and are perfect for snow

Haven’t worn these in the snow yet but they are nice and warm, for well, and seem to be well made. My only issue, and it is a minor one, is that they’re kind of a lot of work to get on and off. That said, I like the look and feel of them.
