My feet measure 26cm, which according to the size guide and the fact that reviewers rated these boots "true to size", means I should have ordered a size 9. I decided to order a size 8.5, since some reviews suggested going down a half size.
There is at least an inch between my toes and the end of the boot, even with heavy wool socks on. They are extremely wide, and there is a lot of room between the top of my foot and the boot. They look like they're designed for men.
Customer service suggested I order a size 7 (two whole sizes down from my measured size), but I'm not willing to risk the cost of return shipping again. I don't even think a smaller size would fix the sizing issues with these boots.

Normally I take size 7.
They fit small and tight.
I returned this boots and they charged me expensive shipping fee.
Make sure order bigger size!

JUNK I'm very sorry to say. I've had these boots for four winters. They are not used much -- go to town, feed chickens or move in the tractor. They look near new.
BUT I just noticed the rubber uppers are badly cracked on both boots along the sides of the foot.
Sorel Caribou boots used to be the boot to buy for our kind of winters -20F or lower -- not anymore.
I am used to boots lasting decades -- I am still wearing my Raichle hiking boots from 1986. Sure they have
been re-soled and I have stitched them a bit on the tongue and cuff but they have been my everyday work boot since I stopped backpacking and they are still by most comfortable and tough pair of boots -- or shoe for that matter.
I'd also recommend:
I wish someone would tell me!

Hope these are better than the previous three pairs I have had to return every year for the past three years. Boots tend to crack at flex points of foot after wearing for a couple months.

I have had several pair of Sorel Boots from the Conquest to the Caribou, Conquest is Ok but the Caribou is very poor quality in respect to leakage. Now I would figure once you hit the height of the leather in wet conditions you would get possible leaking but on 2 pairs I have had the soles split and leak. No excuse for this, better product out there.

The stories about pianful blisters around the ankle, frozen feet in temperatures under 0 celcius (let alone snow!!) and leaking are all true. I don't think my feet have ever had to suffer this much. The quality is absolutely disgusting and I am very disappointed!!!

The tag on the boots rated them to -41. I as skeptical but bought them anyway. I do some outside work through the winter and used them on a day when it was 20 degrees. My feet got cold. I returned them

I am a plumber in colorado. They do not keep warm. They cracked the rubber the first winter I had them. Happened to my wife's boots twice. Good fit and comfortable other wise. Great if you live in a place where you don't have to worry about the weather elements or you just want to be stylish with poor quality boots.

Loved these boots! Thought they would be with me for years down the road... referred to them as "My Sorels", as if they were close friends...
14 months later the rubber dry rotted. A common theme I saw in reviews.., with only a 12 month warranty...? :( its just not fair.

I have been wearing Sorel's since I was 13. I wore those first boots from 13-39. I was in the Scouts, and wore them a lot when I was younger. The only reason I retired those boots was because the leather was breaking down a little (only a little). I saw these boots and I had to have them. I got the black on black version. I loved them. They look beautiful. They are warm, comfortable, and dry. In about 1.5 years of light use, the rubber cracked. And by light use, I used them to snow blow my driveway a hand full of times and I took a couple of walks in the park. They cracked so bad I can put my whole finger through the hole. I am so disappointed! Others have said the same thing. I would not buy Sorel's again until they address the issue. I don't except them to last 25 years, but I do except them to last a long time. There is no reason that quality boots shouldn't last a long time.

Buyer beware!!! The rubber is of poor quality and will crack after minimal use. Poor quality and not worth the wet feet later. I use to be a Sorel believer. I can't stand beside or "in" these boots anymore.

I thought for the price I was getting a quality product. I was expecting a warm, durable boot. I was surprised after 1.5 years of very light use(maybe worn 20 times in normal snowy conditions) the rubber began cracking on both boots in the same spot. I will try to exchange them or get them fixed, but I will never buy a pair of sorel boots again. They are pretty warm, but obviously poor quality overall. They are not made to last.

I recieved these caribou boots in the mail yesterday and oh my!! I opened up the box and thought I had ordered men's boots! I have another pair of sorels (Joan of the artic & I love them!) and I compared the caribou ones to my others and they were about twice the size! (They are both a 9.5). And these boots are SO heavy. I read the reviews before I bought these and thought people were just overreacting but no, they are very heavy and bulky. I was planning on wearing these daily as winter is coming up but I will be returning these, unfortunately.

I am usually a size 6, but when I received the Caribou in a size 6, the foot of the boot, all around, looked two sizes too big. The boot itself is very heavy and the shaft felt uncomfortably tight. The product looks fashionable and functional online, but it looks clunky and large in person. I really wanted a good pair of winter boots, but I am going to return them.

I bought a pair of Caribou boots 3 yrs ago and by the end of the first winter of wearing them, the rubber was cracked on the inner side of both boots. I returned them to the store I purchased them from and received a new pair. Again, by the end of the following winter the rubber was cracked on both boots. My husband has the same boots and the same thing happened to him, though he was able to wear them for 2 winters before the rubber cracked.
We purchased these boots thinking they would be high quality and would last for a number of years. Very disappointing and frustrating.

I bought a pair of these on multiple recommendations. I was very happy with them at first but after only two months I started getting cracks above the sole/below the rubber upper. I took them back to the store I purchased them from and got a replacement pair. That new pair lasted only three months before I got a HUGE split in the rubber. I took those back too and will not buy another pair again.

Unless you're a construction worker, these boots are way too heavy. They weighed in at over 6 lbs. when i went to ship them back!

I bought these for my daughter to wear at college while walking between classes. These didn't even last a year before developing major cracks or rips in the rubber where it bends. Look elsewhere if you want something durable.

I bought these boots for price shown at about mid way through last snow season. I was really excited to get them because of the quality i thought they had. Well it's the start of a second season of snow and the where it bends when walking has broken down and now my boots LEAK! I am really disappointed in the quality of this boot especially for the price i paid. I have kids and i play in the snow with them. I was not rough on them out of the ordinary and stored them in a plastic tub through summer. This is unbelievable that i can pay this much and have them break down with normal use after less that a year of wear. I would not recommend this product. i switch from another brand that has long been my go to snow products and now am paying the price. Needless to say i will have to buy another pair of boots in less than a year of purchasing these boots.

For one winter, these were great boots. They look great, are very comfortable and warm, provide excellent traction, etc. But the rubber used is just terrible. After one winter, the rubber above my little and big toes - on both feet - began cracking. There are similar stories in reviews here, so I will add mine to the pile. My last pair of Sorel boots were given to me in my mid teens, nearly twenty years ago. They were trouble-free, and I only replaced the removable lining once in all that time. They succumbed to the same symptom as this newer version did. But after nearly two decades. Zappos, as usual, went above and beyond and replaced mine outside of the 365 days normally allotted for returns. Such service surprises me even though I've come to expect it here. As for the replacement boots, they are going on eBay. I have lost confidence in the brand. What a shame.

I bought my pair for a year ago and it have allready started making cracks in the rubber. This have happened on both of the shoes. I live in Norway where the winter is rough and then i need a pair of shoes that deliver. Its not looking good and its leaking when I walk in snow. But besides of this, its a realy a good shoe. Its kinda heavy, but so is the Norwegian winter as well ;-)
The cracks really disappointed me, so i would not recomend this shoe to my friends unless they would like wet feets in minus 25 degrees celsius...

I received these after much anticipation to walk my dog in our snowy, canadian winters. Such a disspaointment. They give me huge blisters on the backs of my ankles where theres a huge ridge where the rubber meets the leather. I didn't return them because i thought i could just "work them in" I've tried wearing different socks, tieing them up differently but nothing helps. I have a feeling that since Sorrel sold to Columbia the quaility i had come to trust in the Sorrel name is no longer there. They look nice yes - but arn't fit for purpose.

I live in Northern Vermont and we take our Winter snow boots very seriously, after all our Winter snowfalls last from November through May! Purchased my first pair of Caribou last year. The sole on the left boot split 3" from the boot body after about five wearings. Shorty after that, a thin slit about 1" long suddenly appeared in the rubber just where your little toe sits. It got longer as the winter progressed. Another split appeared, this time on the right boot in exactly the same place (this time over the right little toe). I wrote Sorel and they referred me to Zappos. Question is: I purchased them a year ago. Are they still guaranteed or am I out of luck?
