These shoes are very stylish and sturdy and warm, however, they are also very heavy - seems like I'll have to spend my first few snowstorms getting used to walking in them before I feel comfortable.

I read the reviews before purchasing boots for my wife. I have Sorel boots that I bought in 2012 and I love them, they fit perfectly. Other reviews on the woman's boot said they were very difficult to put on and take off. Luckily my wife has a small foot and ankle/calf or else we would have to return this boot as well. I just don't understand how so many people can have the same issue yet Sorel hasn't made the necessary changes. The boot is tight on my wife by she is going to put up with it. Its not actually the boot but the insert that is the issue. Why won't someone take the bull by the horns and fix this??

These are great boots. My first pair lasted 30 years. However I have a hard time getting them off.I got a half size larger but I keep pulling the liners out when I take them off.I think the instep is too tight.

I bought a pair for my girlfriend. She needed a waterproof, winter boot with a high traction sole to walk our dogs in the mountains around Park City, UT. She chose the Men's Caribou because they're have the 'dimpled' sole and are about 1 inch taller than the Women's Caribou and offered a bit of extra room for warm socks. So far, she's very happy with gray color, the high traction, and warm toes. In the future I might give them 5 stars, but can't until we can evaluate their longevity.

These boots are great. Only issue was the sizing -- if in doubt when ordering, size slightly larger than you think you need. I'm usually a 7, but my toes are right at the end of these boots (without thick socks).

I purchased these for a trip to Vermont and to have a decent pair of snow boots when shoveling snow - it seems to be snowing much more here in NJ than last year. I am so used to shoveling in rain boots that allow my feet to freeze and hurt after 10 minutes, even with thick socks on. When I wore these, they kept my feet warm all day. They run a little big. I usually range between a 7.5 and an 8. I ordered an 8 and found them still a little roomy. The only thing I didn't like was that they were heavy, but that could be because I'm used to wearing cheap rain boots. If you're looking for a boot to keep your feet warm in the cold weather, I definitely recommend these.

I usually wear an 8, but I followed the other reviewers' suggestions and purchased a 7. The boots themselves are huge, but they are a great fit with the lining. Getting my feet in and out of the lining takes several minutes, but the boots are warm and a great value.

I own a pair of size 8 Sorels in a different style so I ordered these in a size 8. Disappointed that they were too small. Currently no size 8 1/2 available. The quality of the boots is exceptional, very disappointed that I couldn't put them to use right away.

These are great boots. I spent my first day wearing them at a festival on a frozen lake and my feet never got cold and they look very good too. I thought Sorels ran big so i bought size eleven since i wear 10 1/2. I was wrong. The 10 fit better so I traded them out. My only issue is the right boot liner is fitting poorly against my ankle an causes some discomfort. Hoping it goes away with time.

Awesome warm stylish boots, that'll keep your feet warm and dry. They remind me of garden boots, but less rubber and more fur. When I put them on for the first time, I realized how wide they are. I usually have a snug fit for size 9, but these gave about a 1/3 inch of extra room. I definitely recommend them for cold weather, walking around while there's snow.

The Caribou boot is just what I needed for Chicago weather. They are extremely warm and comfortable. I love that they are waterproof too. The only thing I would say was a negative, they are a little heavy-but that's what you get for wanting heavy duty boots!

Much too heavy. My husband walks as if it weighs a ton. I think he would have liked it more if it's lighter.

I am very pleased with this purchase. The boots were pretty much true to size (maybe a tad large, but this is easily corrected with thick socks) and extremely comfortable and warm. While the leather color is very attractive (I ordered the grey boots), the waterproof rubber soles definitely make feet look double their size. You won't be worrying about this too much though since your feet will be cozy and protected from water, snow and ice.

Boots are high quality made and very warm, but very heavy for everyday wear. I am exchanging for another style Sorel boot that's not quite as heavy in weight. I would definitely recommend this boot to someone whose main purpose is for extreme warmth and durability, that doesn't mind a bit of a heavier boot.

The boots seem to be made from good quality materials. They are very warm. The lining on the inside does have a tight fit, and they are a little heavy. The actual size of the shoe runs a little big, but the lining around the top runs small. However overall they are great.

Even though I don't need a boot that can withstand the levels of cold that this boot can, I bought it for wearing on walks with my dogs. A lot of people don't shovel their sidewalks, so it gets quite icy. I have tried several other boots but this is the only one that I feel confident in. As noted in other reviews, the felt lining is very tight and difficult to get on and off at first. I wear just a very light sock and I found after several wearings, the boot becomes much easier to get on and off. I bought a 1/2 size smaller than usual and it seems to be the right decision, although I think once the felt becomes compressed, the boot is starting to feel larger in the ankles, so we'll see. I tried using the "fit guide" tool on the website - but it was way off!

LINER IS TOO TIGHT VERY VERY HARD TO PUT THE BOOTS ON. I'M GOING TO CUT THE FRONT OF THE LINER TO MAKE IT EASIER TO PUT ON.

Just got these as a Christmas gift, and the first thing that I noticed was the sizing. I had to order a size down from what I normally wear, but wish that they had half-sizes to get a really perfect fit. They are great in the snow, and incredibly warm, but I also ended up adding an insole in them to make them feel a bit more comfortable. For an all-around boot, I wouldn't necessarily point someone toward these, but as a "cold-weather" or "snow" boot, you can't get much better than the Sorel Caribou.

if you are looking for a serious snow boot, then you have come to the right place. these boots are even more substansial than i was expecting. i was originally looking for a saturday-running-errands kind of boot that would also be a good snow boot. i will not be wearing these to run around town on saturdays, but i will be using these to shovel lots of snow. the boots are quite heavy and bulky. also very warm with the liner in there. i bought a 9 which i normally wear and they fit just fine. looking forward to owning these for years, the quality is unmatched by other boots on the market.

I love the boots when I am wearing them. The lining is tough to get on and difficult to get off.....They would be better if the middle of the lining (where the tounge would be) was elasticized.

I haven't worn these out in the snow yet...will try them out in about 3 days though. They are extremely well made, durable, thick, and warm. They are a true 11 Medium. I am an 11 wide normally and therefore have to wear thin ski socks to accommodate for the lack of width I usually require. (They don't come in wides). But if you wish, you can order the exact same shoe in a man's size if needed. They are not lightweight but instead are pretty heavy. They probably need to be that way for the type of weather they will face.

I bought these to go on a ski trip. They are a lot bulkier then they look on the model. I am normally a size 9 to 8.5 so I got the 8 and without socks they swallow my feet but with thicker socks they fit perfectly. If I take the insert out they are really big on me. I have heard wonderful things about their durability and I hope they will last me a long time.

My 13 year old son loves these winter boots. This is his second pair (due to his foot growing not wear). I personally think they are heavy but he doesn't complain.

My family has relied on Sorels to keep our feet warm in the winter for years. I wanted dark brown boots with felt liners to match my coat but could not find any in women's so bought men's. They are cozy but I'm wondering if they would be warmer if the liners were wool. Also, the liners have a sort-of stretchy front panel that I assume is supposed to "give" enough to easily get the boots off and on. However it does not work! I cut open the panel and sewed a piece black elastic across the opening at the ankle and midway up the calf. Now they slip on and off without a fight and pulling off my socks. I think they'll work for me--hopefully for the next 15 years, just like my last pair of Sorels.
