Here's the deal on these awesome shorts; order 1 size DOWN if you're a RUNNER and order your size if you're using them for other purposes. I am training for 2nd marathon and ordered these shorts in a medium. They rolled up like daisy dukes (like another reviewer said happened to her). So I ordered the small to see if being tighter would make them stay in place. The small was PERFECT...no rolling....just pure compression and comfort. I actually wear these under my Nike running skirt. I also kept the mediums for cross training workouts...but I need the smaller size for running. I am 5'8", 165lbs...not a "small" by normal standards....but the small was exactly what I needed. I have very muscular legs...but as a 38 year old mom of 2, I also have a little lower tummy and some jiggle on my upper-inner thigh. These shorts fix that and make running a dream. They covered that upper inner thigh perfectly and held in my lower back and tummy. I wasn't sure about the length...but it was just right for me. They fall about 4 to 5 inches down the leg. If you want a longer running short, but you don't want the full capri...the CW-X Triathlon Short are awesome. The padding in the Tri-Short is not super-thick so it doesn't interfere with running. I wore those the last 2 years, but have lost a lot of weight and am ready for the shorter running shorts. I am a huge fan of CW-X...ran my first marathon with CW-X full-length Stabilyx tights. I wear the CW-X bra which is only one of 2 brands that actually work for me. The other one is "Moving Comfort". The bottom line is with CW-X, I find I actually need to order a size down in order to utilize the compression aspect them most efficiently...that goes for the capris, shorts, full tights and bras. These are the best running shorts ever - short without riding up when I run. They provide fantastic support and make any run easier.

I am 5'4", 120 lbs, with athletic thighs. I did not think these shorts would work for me. I was convinced they would not fit my thighs or would be uncomfortably tight at the leg openings. However, I love my CW-X tights so much, I decided to give them a try in a size small. I am happy to report that they are very comfortable. The leg openings are snug but not uncomfortably so. I wore them for a run and a leg workout. No pinching or riding up. Love them!

Perfect for tri's. Nice and short with very little padding. Perfect for racing. I would wear something with more padding for training. Also go up a size.

I enjoy these shorts as much as my CWX tights. They are supportive, stay put and don't ride up. The only suggestion I have is if you are "between sizes" go for the larger size.

I bought these for a 50 mile ultra in early July. They were awesome! I had no pain in my back or hips from the support.

The CW-X Pro Fit Short is great. It is good looking and comfortable. I train everyday and compete in races at least once a month. This short provides excellent support. I highly recommend it!

Another fabulous product from CW-X! These compression shorts are a must for any long distance runner who wants support in the upper thigh and hips. Tight, but not uncomfortable, these shorts have never chafed me in the waist or legs (with the use of Vaseline or other lubricant). I have completed a 22 miles of a 44 mile relay and a marathon with these shorts and they have become my go-to shorts for all my warm weather races. I ordered a small as I am 5'5 and 120 pounds. They fit exactly as I expect, just like my CW-X compression tights.

I love these compression shorts! I bought a second pair and will definitely buy more. I was having horrible problems with my hip flexors until I bought these shorts. Now, I cannot exercise without them. I am no longer in pain and the shorts keep my muscles from bouncing around when I run. I highly recommend them to anyone who exercises.

Great shorts for the long run. They help me maintain good posture through 2-3 hours runs. I also coach high school T&F and recommend these shorts to help with injury prevention over a long season.

Fantastic product! I have several pairs of running shorts but these are by far the best. They look great on too, even if you don't have a perfect body. There's compression in all the right places. I recommend ordering one size up.

Very comfortable but... I love CW-X products, great quality and support. However, I did return these shorts because although the back support is great and a killer woman's fit -they are little bit to pricy. Zappos.com return policies are phenomenal and worth every extra penny. GO ZAPPOS.com!

CW-X Pro Fit Short - Excellent tight fitting shorts for my girlfriend and A+++ for fast shipping.

Good Purchase - I like the fit of these shorts with the exception of the length of the leg. If they were just an inch longer they would not catch me in the biggest part of my thigh and would not ride up when running. The hips and waist however are perfect. The compression is great and generally I love them.

CW-X Pro Fit Short - great lower back and core support - CW-X has done it again - made another fantastic product! These shorts offer great lower back and core support. They are comfortable and they look great! They do not have leg grippers, but they don't ride up like regular running shorts. I highly recommend them - take it from someone who is training for an Ironman and is recovering from being hit by a car!

Great shorts! I wish they had a little more compression, but that maybe more of needing a smaller size. I wish they made a XXS. If you are under 95lbs you may not get a much compression as you are looking for

I'm 5'8" and 145 with all my weight in my hips and thighs. I ordered a medium and loved the way they hugged and fit. However, I agree with other reviewers that if they were 1 inch longer they would be a perfect fit. That being the case they hit me right at the biggest part of my thigh and would have chafed.

Very comfortable for running and since getting them, I don't want to run in anything else. If you want compression shorts, order by the size chart. I'm 5'6 and 110 and the XS is right. If you don't want a snug compression fit, spend your money on something else. These aren't super-short; I'm pretty modest and still can wear them without anything else on top. My only complaint: These are very short in the rise. I find myself pulling them up to conceal the plumber's crack, then right back down again to avoid the binding sensation in the crotch. In spite of that, they're still the most comfortable thing I have to run in.

Ran in these shorts for a half-marathon. Love them! Had to order one size up ( and wish they were about an inch longer -agree with the reviewer about where they hit on the thigh), but they hold everything in, look great and don't ride up-even on my curvy frame. Expensive? Yes--but they work better than the cheaper ones I've tried.

Liked the way they fit, offer a lot of support, exchanged med. for a lg. Runs small.

These are definitely super compression. I usually wear a small (size 6-8), sometimes a medium. So, I ordered these as a medium given the prior reviews. They are super tight and cause bulging over the waistline as everything is pushed in which is visually pretty unappealing. While they do compress the muscle groups which is good, it seems to go beyond the level of basic comfort. In hindsight, I think a large would end up working better.

I thought these compression shorts were the answer to my prayers after suffering from the dreaded thigh-chafe. These shorts DO solve that problem, but the waistband is another story! The back seam rubs a spot on my lower back completely raw – very deep, very painful and I've got a nasty scar as proof. Same deal with the front. The drawstring, which is oddly necessary though they're very tight, just chafes so much. I've kept them because, well, I'll take the waistband chafe when my thighs have had enough, and they ARE very supportive. These do require some awkward adjusting to battle ride-up during the first 1/2 mile, but once I'm warmed up they stick just fine!

Potential, but too short for me - I have full tights from CW-X, which I love, so I was excited to try these. They felt great when I tried them on and did provide great mid-section support. But, unlike the comment above, I had terrible trouble with the legs riding up. Within about a half of a mile, they had ridden up so high it looked like I was running in a pair of daisy dukes. This in turn resulted in some pretty bad chafing by the end of my 7 miles. Very uncomfortable.

This item caused major chafing. Not happy with these running shorts. Seam was raised. Regular Nike shorts were much better.
