Great boot - I bought these boots for a trip I knew I would be walking a lot in. They were comfortable for walking in all day and they did not hurt. It even lasted being out in the rain all day. It kept my feet dry.

Great boots! I got these boots in black and I absolutely love them! They are stylish, "edgy", comfortable, just what I was looking for. They look great with skinny jeans; I’ll be wearing them with skirts too. I am very satisfied with my purchase. And Zappos service is the best!!!

Just what I wanted - Needed a motorcycle boot and wanted one stylish enough to wear at the office which didn't look like a biker boot (and would wear with skirts or pants). This boot was everything I hoped for. The leather is soft and beautiful and the heel is just enough too. You can walk all day in them and be good to your feet at the same time. My only complaint is I had to purchase a half size smaller than I wanted because the size I usually get was out. I would have loved to get a wide size too. But again, I am very glad I found these. Oh yes- these are perfect for anyone who likes adjustable calf widths too since they are both lace up and zip up.

Correct choice ~ The toe box is really a little bit narrow, but that is why the boot is so good looking. The tongue of my right shoe is not located "in the middle", but somehow goes to the left side. But anyway the boots are great!

Love them!! I like how these boots look and feel. They are comfortable to work in all day. They felt a bit narrower than marked, I believe, but my foot is narrow so that worked out well for me. As others have mentioned, they do need to be laced each time, but it is not inconvenient since it is lace hooks rather than holes. I am very pleased with this purchase.

Lovely, lovely boot - I bought this boot as a Christmas present for myself and boy, is it great. I live in San Diego, but I am moving to New York this year and I am going to need a really well made, weather resistant, tough boot like this one. The great thing is that with all the above features, it’s also a very stylish combat boot. I recommend it highly.

Great Boot!! This is an awesome boot! I took these boots to Colorado with me and they were great in the snow...good traction. They rubbed my heels a little the first few times I wore them, but were great after that. Thinking of buying the black!

Rockin boots! I love the way these boots look! They are sort of a blend of equestrian/WWII/motorcycle boots, but with a feminine flair. Because they zip and you can tighten the laces, they can be form fitting at the ankle, so they don't look clunky. They feel well made and the leather is of good quality. The Taupe color is nice and neutral and will go with anything. I agree that there's a bit of a tongue sliding issue though. I usually wear a 7 boot, but they feel a bit big in 7. I need to exchange them for a 6.5, but they are out of stock!! So I'm lamenting about returning them as I adore them so much.

Punky & Practical - Timberland's Comforia sole system really is very comfortable- I have bunions and am always looking for cool shoes I can actually walk all over town in- these are them! Waterproof & good traction for rainy days, but not insulated for snow. The zipper makes it easy to take on/off, but you'll always have to re-do the bit of corset lacing at the top of the boot each time. Fabulous punky boot, lots of compliments, and happy feet on long city walks. It looks a little more feminine on than you'd expect, since the ankle can be laced nice and narrow.

Comfort - Love this boot, I ordered it in black. I ordered the size I regularly wear and it fit perfectly. Very comfortable, went on a long walk and the boot was comfortable the entire time. You do have to lace them up every time, but as the other person said, no big deal.

LOVE this boot! Wanted something casual and comfortable to wear with jeans and a sweater. These are perfect. VERY comfortable from the start. Love the side zipper - but don't be fooled into thinking you wont ever have to lace them up ... you will. The laces at the top come undone nearly every time you take them off. No big deal -- just fyi. Would buy them in another color and would definitely recommend them. And I LOVE ZAPPOS.COM!!!

Great boots - These boots are great- look great and very sturdy. The toe box is narrower than any other shoe I have, but okay if you wear very thin socks. (I don't have a wide foot either) Other than that I have no problem with these.

Good looking, earthy-vintage boot - This boot is very good looking with great attention to details. You can dress it down or dress it up a bit. I feel like I could do a can-can or shovel out a pasture -- whatever the day calls for. Very comfortable. I want to get it in black, too.

Walking a lot? Get this boot! Needed a boot for NYC last minute. I ordered 14 pairs of boots as I heard it was raining/snowing and I needed something ASAP (and figured the majority of them would not fit). Well, I ended up keeping two pairs of these boots and they were great the whole trip-lots of standing and walking and my feet never hurt like they usually do. I may purchase a third pair since my feet are so hard to fit and I like these so much. Another plus is the side zipper. Getting them on and off at airports is quick!

Great looking boot - I found this boot to be just a bit narrow in the foot bed causing my little toe to feel cramped. I have a narrow heel and wide foot bed which is hard to fit. By ordering a half size larger, I am able to wear these comfortably with my arch support insert. I love the look and would not hesitate to buy them again.

In love!! It has always been difficult to fit my feet (narrow ankle, wide forefoot)...this boot went on like it was made just for me!! Walking could be done all day in these! I am back online to buy another pair in another color...I love Timberland, have an original pair at home...perfect after 12 years of use!! Great quality, great fit! also, even though these boots look made for being tough, the toe compartment narrows down without squishing the toes, so the shoes still look like a 'woman’s' boot. Love the laces; I can fit the top part to my narrow calves, no rubbing! I truly cannot say enough about how much I love these boots!

Exactly What I Was Looking For! These boots are really comfortable! I can wear them all day in the city and my feet aren't hurting me at the end of the day. The side zipper makes them really easy to get on and off - you don't have to lace up every time!

Walking Boot - I wear these boots to work almost everyday; the color is perfect for almost anything because it is really a neutral. The boots are soft and don't look too manly I can probably get away with wearing a skirt with them. When I received them they were just a little snug across the instep but I wore them around the house and now they are just fine. The toe part is long so there is lots of room so no need to scrunch. I walk a little over a mile everyday at work they have been just perfect for this job. They are cute and useful, why don't them come in red?

Wonderfully comfortable! What a wonderful boot! The fit is great, I'm in them all day and the weight and construction of the boot keep me comfortable, dry and happy!

Timberland Charles Street Lace/Zip Boot - I love these boots! With orthotics they fit my narrow foot great and they were comfortable right from the start. They do run a good half size to a full size larger than marked. I wear a 9, but had to exchange them for an 8 ½ and they were still a bit long. They are much richer looking in person; I bought two pair of the taupe and one of the black.

Finally found functional and cute lace up boots! Great boots! After many searches, these were the boots I had been looking for: comfortable, yet cute, with good traction on the bottom (as I have a tendency to slip while walking!). They look even better in person- I do not think the photo does them justice. And, as always, Zappos delivers super fast!!

Looks really cool with jeans - I got taupe suede w/dark brown, although I would prefer a darker color. The boot looks really cool, but a bit tight, which makes it hard to walk in them for too long, but I haven't been walking with it a lot, maybe they just need some break in time.

Really Nice Boot! Love this boot, very comfortable and stylish. Had a problem with one boot: I used the zipper to get it on and the zipper pulled apart as soon as I had it on and took a step! Zappos had no more in my size. My 13 yr. old son had enough patience to realign the zipper, and now it is fine. My only warning: DON'T USE THE ZIPPERS! The lacing works great, so there is actually no need for the zippers anyway. For the price, if it breaks again, I will try and return it. Zappos service was great as always.
