Pros: Straight out of the box - great fit & super comfortable! I ordered a half-size larger to account for orthopedic inserts - perfect! Less than 2days to break 'em in was also a huge relief for this first timer. Used these tactical boots for work; on and off a delivery truck an average 250x/day and loads of short burst walks/runs in cold, rainy, & icy conditions on mostly woodsy/residential terrains and they did the job they were meant to do. Lightweight, very good support, and great traction (almost too great!) inspired confidence. I felt it was definitely worth the price tag. Cons: 1.The tongue ripped after just 2 weeks - had to return them; not sure if this is a design flaw or a manufacturing error, but the outer material of the tongue ripped, exposing the inner stuffing material, which can easily trap water/snow/ice and that would be a problem for the "waterproof upper." This was an inconvenience that temporarily effected job performance. 2.The laces (nylon?) were too slippery, allowing the boot to flex too much; constantly having to retie them throughout the day also slowed work performance and frustrated both me and my co-worker. Suggestion: replace laces with non-slip type; this may also decrease the friction that probably led to the tear in the suede tongue. Overall: Minus the tongue/lace issues, these boots were awesome, especially considering the price. Hats off to the Zappos customer service team! Great service made this a great experience from start to finish and made up for any issues along the way!

Extremely comfortable footbed! Best I have worn; they feel just like a sneaker. The boots look great. The leather is very soft, which worried me in terms of durability, but so far after a month of normal use, they have no lasting scuffs or cuts. With going up and down ladderwells all day, this is a bit surprising. They are polishable with a bit of time and patience. My only real complaint is that the ankle support feels a bit bulky and stuffy leading them to often feel warm. Fortunately the front and sides are well vented. I've had more expensive boots and cheap boots, but so far these are the best! Well worth it.

Tactical six - I bought this boot because of its looks and hoped it had a good none slip sole for work. In person they looked as good as in the picture and the sole is very slip resistant. They do run very large in the toe region mostly...But when you order from Zappos with the free shipping and returns, made it possible to find the right size with no hassle. Over all, a bit pricy but worth it for the comfort.

Tactical 6: great boot with a light finish - The boot is lightweight and supple allowing full range of high speed low drag motion. While supporting the ankle fully and giving good padding and grip from the tread, the Tac 6 manages to keep weight down. It's like wearing tennis shoes with ankle support. However, the finish on the leather is very 'shallow'. Minor bumps and scrapes take out the nice clean look in nothing flat. A field boot, this is not, but for garrison or foot patrol work, it’s a nice one.

Fit like a sneaker, not good for a work boot - First, let me say, the service by Zappos is INCREDIBLE! This boot is more like a high-top sneaker. The toe is very soft and offers no protection. The laces were cheap and too short for this boot. You might want to order a half size smaller because I found this boot creased behind the toes as I walked and I could tell this repeated creasing would easily wear out the leather. Nice looking boot, but not for construction or industry. Good traction. Not warm for cold weather.

Bought these boots to wear while back home on rotation, but after wearing Lowa Zephyrs, Blackhawk Warriorwears and Converse Stealths, these boots felt stiff and flimsy. Pros: great looks (why I initially got them) especially the lugged sole. Light weight. Cons: the top 2 pairs of eyelets cause the upper portion of the boot to "choke" the ankle. Eventually in order to wear them, I had to tie a knot just above the 4th set of eyelets so that I could keep the boot tight on the foot without slipping but not tight on the ankles. These boots have almost no support and after a few hours I had to take them off to give my feet a break. Also, when the temp dropped down to around 60, I could actually feel it in my feet. I have never owned a pair of boots that were so temperamental to temp changes as these. Admittedly they look great on, but that is about where the benefits end. Maybe Oakley's other boots are better, but these feel like standard GI boots at commercial after-market prices.

These boots have the feel of sneakers. They keep that tactical look and ruggedness. Weather it be in a tactical environment or even as everyday boots. The leater is soft enough that it does not need to be broken in. I have not tried a shine yet. I wear a 9½, but in Oakley that is snug, so consider half a size larger. These boots are sweet other than that.

I've had these boots for almost 2 years and have to say they are the best boots I've bought. They have outlasted any other boot I've worked in and they still have plenty of sole left. Highly recommended for the sheepdogs out there!

My nephew first turned me on to the name brand OAKLEY, back in my day they only made sun glasses. I have now bought my 4th pair! Light weight, great style, and the price is right. I even bought a new pair of Oakley sunglasses so I can look good from head to toe!!!

Great Boot - I am very happy with this boot. Arch support is only moderate, but with a couple of inserts they are great.

Perfect Boot! My New Favorite Shoe! It's extremely difficult to find shoes in my size (12.5), and I had high hopes for these. They exceeded my expectations in every possible way! They fit beautifully and provide amazing support and cushioning throughout the boot. I highly recommend!

I wear these boots for about 10 hours a day delivering food to restaurants out of a semi. They are larger than the size marked- I wear an 11 in Nike athletic shoes, 10.5 in regular work boots and had to get a 10 in these Oakleys for correct fit- so order a half to a full size down from your regular size. I've had them about a month now and they are very comfortable to walk in with great ankle support, supple leather, a shineable toe and require less than a day of break-in. They are not non-slip on greasy floors. The laces are too thin and insole loses cushioning, both of which I've replaced with better items. There is little toe protection (no steel toe, just a thin plastic form cap). They do shine up nice and look professional with the uniform.

Great desert boot. This boot worked out well for me as a geologist on project. You can really feel airflow and your feet are cool. However, these boots are not waterproof, i.e. stepping in a creek. The material is waterproof but the overall boot will not keep your feet dry when submerged. Not a big deal to me but I would have liked to seen that in some reviews to know what I was buying. With that being said, I still love these boots and look forward to wearing them on out on project in Puerto Rico, just have to jump over puddles

These boots are comfortable and durable. I began wearing them to work on 1/1/09, and after 3 months of VERY hard use I am pleased with them. They hold up to cuts and scrapes very well, they are very lightweight, and a break-in period is virtually unnecessary. The soles have held up well, as I walk on solid concrete and abrasive asphalt surfaces all day long. The laces are very thin, and I replaced them within a month after they began to fray. My boot size with this style (US 10) also seems significantly larger than other brands of the same size. The toe seems longer and wider, which causes me to tie them tighter, bunching up the area where the tongue meets the toe. I also needed to buy a larger size insole than I have always used before. If I were to replace them, I would probably buy a half size smaller. All in all, I am happy with these boots, and even with my size concerns, they are still very comfortable.

These boots are just fine in and of themselves. Pretty comfortable. Liked the looks. Kind of stuffy even though they brag about breathing well, but they are boots. And the quality is about as good as a boot you can get anywhere - but that's the problem - for the price I should be getting a better boot. Quality wise these boots aren't anything to brag about. Not bad, but not great. I was going to keep them but I ended up returning them after the loops for the laces in front of the ankle broke within a few times of wearing them. I do lace my boots tight, but they should hold up better than that, especially for the price. Price these lower and I wouldn't complain. (Although I would still return them for breaking so fast.)

Owned less than 3 months and started separating around toe area. Not impressed! Zappos customer service was 2nd to none like always. Refunded my money and I bought a different pair. I will be a Zappos customer for life.

I like the style and they are comfortable, but they only lasted a few months before the shoelaces started to fall apart (kind of peeling away...weird). That's not a huge deal. But see that fabric loop the laces go through between the round eyelets on the top of the foot and the boot-like eyelets above the ankle. Those fabric loops broke. After that, it was impossible to lace comfortably. Basically, they aren't that sturdy and I wouldn't get them again.
