I bought the Patagonia Men's Down Sweater for my husband for Christmas. It was a huge hit! He loves how lightweight it is, the fit (he's 5'10, 190 lbs. and I ordered a medium- which fits him perfectly), and the way he can wear it over or under other sweaters or outerwear for extra warmth. Best of all...he even received a compliment from his ex-wife about how great the coat looks on him. Jackpot!

I bought this jacket for my father for Christmas. He is an old backpacker who has not been for a few years. He loves this jacket...it's lightweight, can be compressed and stored away during the day in its own pouch. He is 5'9, 170lbs. Medium was a little tight on the shoulders so we returned for a large which is great, but a little big at the abdomen. Other than that, my mom says he loves this jacket. Zappos service in regards to the exchange of sizes was awesome!

The Down Sweater name is deceiving, because it's really the warmest jacket I've ever owned! Patagonia clothes are top notch!

In case you're wondering and yes, it's worth the price. Extremely light and comfortable; good for temperatures down to 40-45F.

I am wearing mine on shaded walks in the park belayed to my two dogs. Predawn trips up the driveway with the trash cans and hut tours in the high Starbucks. But by God, this is a wonderful down layering piece. Very light, I got the XXL for my 6'2" big belly, big guy frame and it fits great. I looked at another one and it wasn't as well made and the cut was anti-old guy. Do yourself a favor and get a Patagonia. Oh, and I got the Autumn Leaf color, which is kind of a coppery brown, so my color palette matches when I'm picking up.

Like most Patagonia products, this garment is expensive relative to competing products, but in my opinion it is worth it. The workmanship is first class, as is the fit. It is termed a sweater because, while it can be worn as a jacket, its real purpose is to be worn under a coat for additional insulation. This it does admirably. Just the ticket for wintertime on the Dakota plains.

This jacket is super light, surprisingly durable, very soft to touch and warm. It requires very little layering in sub-freezing temperatures.

This is the most versatile jacket around. It's lightweight but incredibly warm. Works well under a jacket for outdoors. My studio is drafty so I can wear this all day without feeling bulky. I bought the men's rather than the women's jacket because I prefer the line and styling. Oh, and I can easily ball it up and shove it into my laptop bag. Pricey but worth it.

I bought this Patagonia Men's Down Sweater as a Christmas gift for my dad. It is well made and of the highest quality. It packs up into it's own pouch via an inside pocket and is lightweight but excellent protection against the cold weather. I highly recommend it.

Bought this for my husband as a Christmas present and he loves it. Packs very small but does the work of much larger jackets and has great styling. Highly recommended. Bought the black to go with almost every outfit.

I gave this to my husband for Christmas and he has not taken it off. He wears it in the house as well as outside and sometimes puts a vest over it for extra warmth. He loves the rockwall color. It was the perfect Christmas present.

These jackets are great. They are very light and very warm. Not as puffy as I had feared so this will be great to layer under a shell. I love Zappos; they shipped the jackets in one day with no extra charge.

A few days before Christmas I realized that none of the local stores carried this jacket that my husband wanted. I went to the product's website only to find that they were sold out, as were almost all other outdoors-wear online stores. If they had the jacket, they also had an outrageous expedited shipping rate. Then I found Zappos.com - they had the exact jacket, in the right size and the right color, and with FREE overnight shipping! That sealed the deal and as promised, the jacket arrived on Christmas Eve. And as they say, the rest is history :) Oh, and the jacket is everything my husband had hoped - good quality down resulting in a very thin jacket that he wears as a layer under an exterior shell.

I got this as a gift for my father-in-law. It’s the perfect gift for someone who is cold all the time. It’s light, compact, and great for layering. I’ve seen him wearing it all the time. It’s water resistant. I’m not sure if he’s worn it in the rain yet.

Love it, and I got it quick. Ordered the Patagonia Down Sweater for myself one night around 8 pm, and I got it the next morning, with free shipping! Kudos to Zappos. I've had the sweater (more like a jacket) for a few days now in WI and have shoveled in 15F, gone to the grocery store at 2F, and tested it out walking in temps well below 20F. I'm amazed at how warm this light jacket has kept me in these conditions, with really only a regular shirt underneath. My new favorite jacket.

I bought this for my husband, and he loves it. According to him, the sweater is very warm and light weight without all the bulks. We received the sweater the very next day. With Zappos there\'s no need to go out to the mall no more.

The Patagonia Men's Down Sweater earns 5 stars in all categories for the follow reasons: First, it's a Patagonia product. For anyone not familiar, Patagonia is a top shelf outdoor products company. They have been around since the 70's, are wholly owned by Yvon Chouinard, and are dedicated to one thing: making the absolute best product for the intended purpose. That does not mean cheapest, or even most affordable, but it does mean highest quality. Patagonia products are expensive, but because of their active commitment to preserve our environment I happily pay the price. Now about the "sweater". This is the perfect insulating layer for the high country. It's extremely light for its warmth factor, extremely packable, and extremely comfortable in a wide temperature range. My first use of mine was on a four day trip to summit Granite Peak (at 12,799 feet the highest peak) in Montana. I wore it alone and under a shell, in temps between 35 and 50 degrees (early August) and winds from calm to 60 MPH. I was comfortable (not too hot) in this range in this jacket. It allows full freedom of movement. The quality is superb. It's a no frills, ultralight, insulating layer. It does everything the product literature promises. If you can afford, own one!

Light, compressible warmth - Light, warm sweater for layering or to be worn by itself. Medium was a true medium. Zips up tight at neck; draw cord at waist. Fits in small stuff sack. Great warmth to weight ratio.
