I just bought my second pair of the Howland Penny. The first pair lasted me about a year before I wore the toes out. This is a casual driving shoe and I always wore it with no socks. The leather is so soft & comfortable. My only complaint is that I wore the toes out pretty quickly, but when you have a sole that does not extend to the edges of the shoe, and leather as soft as this, that is not unexpected. I will retire my old pair to driving, running quick errands, and bumming around the house. The new pair will be worn everywhere else this summer...until I wear the toes out on them!

They fit right in the front and loose in the back. There’s no set description to choose from.

I was obliged the return these shoes to Zappos because they were too small. Either my feet are larger recently or the shoes are now running small. No complaints otherwise; the style is great.

These look great, but are very uncomfortable. I have never required a wide shoe, but this shoe was so narrow that it was very uncomfortable and I had to return. Great look and quality, but just too uncomfortable.

I got the wide and even that was far too narrow. Will be trying a different brand!

THis shoe runs extremely narrow. Purchased for my husband and returning sadly.

If I have had one pair of these CH shoes, I have had a dozen. Always size 12. Last pair I bought was really tight so I went up to the thirteen. Really tight again. And I am not retaining water. Look to be high quality, they last, look good. Just two for two on "too tight". Price was very good so I'll try to stretch them in.

Too big in the back. They flopped.

Very flat shoe. Love the style and look but it was very tight and I couldn’t wear with socks at all. A shoe stretcher help but it is still narrow.

Ordered the Wide width, but had to return because it was too narrow. Otherwise, I liked the shoe. Would have kept it had it not been for the width/fit.

I'm going to join the naysayers, based on fit. I'm a women's 8.5C and ordered a 8.5E (or EE if that's what Cole Haan calls wide). If that seems odd (usually a women 8.5 is a mens 6.5 or 7), the length was based on Zappos' calculate your size measurements. The shoe fit ok width-wise, but was easily 1.5 inches too long. That means that, even if I ordered the correct length for my foot, Cole Haan's E/EE width would be way too narrow my C width foot.

Decent shoe. The front toe has no rubber so the leather is wearing down to the point of A hole very fast. That is why I wasn’t hesitant to buy this shoe. Wish I wouldn’t have bought it and gotten the other coles I have that I love in black!

Very stylish shoe, however, it flared out on the sides and didn’t snug my feet the way I would have liked.

I found the shoes to run narrow unlike the Cole shoes I have purchased in the past

These were very narrow so be cautious when you order, had to return them.

Have had two pairs of these Cole Haans and both wore out in the front part of toe within a year of buying them. Thought the first pair was a fluke, the second was even quicker. Probably won't ever buy another pair of cole Haan loafers. Overall comfort was ok, although I did have to put different insoles in to make them better

I bought these for my brother for his 75th birthday. He fell in love with them! They were so comfortable. However, there were holes in both shoes in the bottom front. I bought him another pair this week. Can I please return them and receive credit for the return since I already bought another pair? Linda M Marconi

Classic styling but very narrow. Appear shiny and more cheaply made than my old Frye drivers. Very narrow and difficult to break in. Overall satisfied but not sure I would purchase again.

These are a bit narrow in the toe box.

I ordered this shoe for my husband. We are having a hard time finding a shoe in this style that is wide enough to fit his foot. He could not get his foot (normally a wide) into this shoe even though it was ordered as a wide.

Although this shoe is a great shoe, it wears out faster than any other shoe I have ever had. I am very disappointed with how quickly the shoe wore out. Other than durability, this shoe is great!!

The biggest issue with this shoe for me is the width. It is definitely narrower than expected. I have never had to buy wide shoes.

Unfortunately, this is not truly a "wide" fit. I orderd the 7.5 W (my usual size, including in other Cole Haans), but Howland Penny in W is really a D or narrower.

A review said this item ran narrow order wide. Usually I use a medium, but followed the reviews suggestion--it was right, but not enough. This really narrow, need an extra-wide which is not available.
