I've owned over 10 pairs of ariat boots and my last 5 being these ariat roughstocks. First of all I love the thickness and quality of the leather. The rubber bottoms are fantastic. And most of all the height of the heal is perfect when paired with the composit they use. These are a real man's pair of work boots. If you work horses, cattle, hogs, or do farm work. Even if you just want to have a nice pair of boots. These are what you need. Dont even look at the other options. Get this!!!

First, I would like to direct my unique opinion to Beth Cross with the intention of reaching out to those who are looking for a good boot. You have my permission to remove this post if it is not worthy of Ariat's goals.
My opinion is unique because I found these boots at a donation center. I was attracted to the western leather cut surrounded by the scoundrel castaway footwear with very little future. I first noticed the boot shaft was standing firm at the ankle. The leather was over dried and there appeared to be some cracking where the upper foot bends at the toe. The heel and soul were intact and without wear and in my opinion more that 99%. The size 9D was my foot size by the foot scale, but by most standards means nothing now day's. I rarely find a true size 9. I tried them on and they fit and walked quite well regardless of the dry out. I bought these boots and used my saddle and leather skills and began working the boots with concentration on the lower boot and toe bend to allow the leather to retain it's memory without using saddle soap and avoid the harshness of lye during the life saving process. it was at this time, I discovered these boots were of a high quality name brand Ariat. The restoration was a 100% success and my finished work was identical to the photo's online.
I read a review of an owner of these boots that was not satisfied with the quality and it was his review that I felt compelled to write my review. It is important to know if a product can stand up to it's own name and I am reluctant to call those people nay sayers. There can be many factors that can cause the failure's demonstrated in those photo's. Ariat has the rebar line and the lime in concrete is known to cause stitch failure. Their rebar line has a distinct style to meet that standard. I am also reminded of a famous music company that moved it's sibling line to Asia and had a horrible problem with QC rejects being stolen and reassembled and then sold in auctions overseas, and then some that found their way to the U.S. market as counterfeit. I am not suggesting any of my opinions were the cause of those problems. I do understand quality leather.
My background in quality leather began in 1965 in Huntsville Texas when I was 10 years old. My grandparents belonged to the Cattleman's Association where I began working the tail end of rodeo's. It was that summer that I met Luke Coffee and had the time of my life and the inspiration of a brand new dream. After I finished school I worked scrap yards and rail breakers and continued with metal fabrication and welding. I never lost my love for animals or doing a show and I have kept most of my boots that have traveled across this nation. Several of my boots have been restored to Saturday night specials and I have been told countless times "Thems good lookin boots!".
If you love the pebble grain and stirrup reinforcement of the 10002227 Heritage Roughstock, the way I do, then don't hesitate. These boots are made to work all day and when the animals don't cooperate and make you work all night also, then you need the comfort that is equal to the ride of a Tennessee Walker.

I have owned 7 pairs of ROUGHSTOCK ARIAT boots over the past 15 yrs. and would never think of buying anything else, I have tried Lucchese (WAY OVER PRICED for what you get), I've tried Tony Lamas among a couple of others and NOTHING compares to these ARIATS !! hands down THESE ARIAT ROUGH STOCK BOOTS ARE THE BEST ! I have worn these boots in just about every kind of weather conditions , I have climbed power poles with these boots (I'm a lineman), stood on hard pavement for hours on end even in cold northeast winter weather and have never had tired feet or even cold feet. I'm taking these boots to my grave with me so I will be sure to have comfortable feet when I cross through those pearly gates to go to the dance party ! LOL

Love these Ariats. They fit perfectly although the squared toe makes them look larger than their size. I wear them to work with a one mile walk each way and they are more comfortable out of the box than any other boots I have owned (about 10 pair over the years). The leather is a soft-looking finish but takes a clear shoe polish just fine, which makes them a couple shades darker than they did when new. I would definitely buy these again.

I bought these boots two years ago. I use them for farm chores, and to ride both my APHA stud and my Harley.
Comfortable, clean up nice for more formal occasions, and durable. Couldn't ask for more.

Size: for ariat boots designed for riding if you will be actually riding I suggest going with your regular width and a 1/2 size longer. Heel and mid foot will be glovelike with plenty of toe box room without feeling too long. That goes for dancing too.
If you will be wearing them for relaxing, strolling, otherwise chillin, try regular length, one last wider. The fit will be more heavenly slipper-like. And since riding boots encourage a stride with heels underneath you (as opposed to in front of you), one tends to stand straighter; your back will rejoice. These are also very lightweight.
Build: Chinese assembly and needs a once over to finish. If you can get over that you'll notice the beautiful materials that just pop with a wax. The design is spot on to my eye.
Price: lots of style quality and comfort in the deal. I'd happily pay more for Mexico or US assembly, but this is

I have had a pair of Heritage Roughstock boots for 6 years. They have been the most comfortable and best lasting boot I have ever owned. Worn boots my whole life (52 years) and just can't brag enough about these. Clean them up, put leather conditioner on them and replace the insoles every year and they just keep on going.

This is my first pair of western boots. I've never worn anything like this in my life. What can I say ... Boots are very comfortable right out of the box. Size fits correctly, not tight and not too loose (according to YouTube video "how to choose the proper western boots"). I did not even imagine that boots could be such a comfortable thing. :)

My dad bought me these 7 years ago during my senior year of high school. Since then, they have been my motorcycle boots, my dress boots, my work boots, my only pair of shoes even when I went to the Walmart at 2 AM in my flannel pyjamas. I've loved these things down the bare heel, had them resoled, and continued loving them. While I no longer wear them for work, (we have a steel toe lace up requirement) I do still slip them on whenever I leave the house for any reason. They've been with me through every step of my adult life so far and I don't plan on getting rid of them anytime soon, especially after the excellent resole job that was done. These might even make it another 7 years if I keep them off the bikes and Ariat can send me another pair of the ATS insoles. NOTHING beats those insoles, I promise you that. I would 150% recommend these to every single person looking.

I bought these boots for my 17 year old's birthday. He LOVES them! He said that they are not only really neat looking, they are surprisingly comfortable. I practically have to peal them off of him myself to get him to take them off!

I bought these boots about 7 months ago and you cant ask for anything more out of a boot. I worked at a dude ranch in Colorado being a wrangler for 3.5 months and I abused these 15 hours a day 6 days a week through the worst of conditions and they are holding up extremely well. I have gone though 3 pairs of insoles but the boot is in great shape. This is the most comfortable boot I've ever worn, lasts with torture, looks good and gets lots of complements. I'm not sure what else you could ask for in a boot. Also, I ordered the boot half size smaller because I knew I was going to wear thin socks in the heat of Colorado and the boot molded perfectly to my foot.
