These boots are crafted extremely well. Be warned: There is a "break-in" period, and you may have to get some insoles, along with some tall socks if these are your first pair of boots. You will need them, especially if you generate a lot of body heat like I do. I ended up getting some Thorlos socks that Zappos does not carry that allow for more ventilation. There was no heel support, which was disappointing and sometimes painful when I'm on my feet for an extended period of time. The boot itself is extremely well-crafted, and I can't thank Zappos enough for being fast and great.

Great looking and feeling boot. High quality USA made. I have a narrow foot with higher arch. It doesn't fit as snug as I'd like, but still very comfortable and not broken in. I'd even go to the 8.5's when I should wear a 10 or 9.5 in regular shoe.

This was my first encounter with buying shoes without seeing them and trying them on prior to buying. I thought it would be a huge hassle. The first pair of boots I ordered didn't fit and I didn't like the color. The return was really easy. Then I talked to a customer service rep that helped me order a different color and size that I got in two days. Perfect fit and look. As for the boots, I love them. I suggest ordering one size smaller than you normally wear especially if you have a narrower foot. I highly recommend both the Frye boots and getting them from Zappos.

I purchased these boots (in a different color) for a friend as a gift. They were of such good quality that I wanted a pair, too. I bought the vintage/distressed chocolate for myself and couldn't be happier. The boots are very comfortable out of the box. The only thing about their styling that is new to me is that the upper diameter is smaller that expected. I don't have a very large calf, but they were snug at first. They have since worn in fine. I like the squared off heel better than most engineer boots. Also, the sole is very thick and well-made. One of the reasons that I chose the Frye boots is that they are still made in the USA. Awesome boot and will buy more!

These boots have thus far proven to be a worthy investment. After a standard boot break in period, they feel as comfortable as anything. I fully expect them to last for many years to come, as I have seen this happen with a friends boots from the same brand; it’s going on about 7 years now and they are in immaculate condition. The grip on the bottom of the sole surprised me, as previous boots (cowboy style, not work or hiking boots) did not have much to offer here. These boots were just the opposite. Also, the rubber portion of the heel is about twice as thick as in other boots I own, meaning that unless it becomes a comfort issue, I will have a tremendous amount of time before I need to have this part of the heel replaced.

I ordered my sneaker size 10.5, they arrived a few days later. Felt just a bit too sloppy around the heel. Zappos offered to ship a size 10 pair next day (!) to see if they would fit any better. They did, but they seemed a bit too narrow in the toe. I ended up keeping the 10.5's but I did add some cushioned soles to fill in the extra space. They look and feel great. Thanks, Zappos!

These boots are absolutely beautiful and very well made, but I did have some sizing issues with them. I wear a 9.5 D in regular (oxford style) shoes, but I have tall arches, so I tend to order my running shoes in a 9.5 W and my pull on boots in a 10 D. However, these boots in a 10 were still a bit small. I had to order the 10.5 before they fit properly.

I purchased these boots for my 27 year old son. He's picky about his feet and shoes, how they fit and how they look. He opened the boots, put them on and didn't take them off. Literally. He came down Christmas evening in his boxer briefs and boots with drink in hand. Reminded me of Pierce Brosnan. I think they just might be his most favorite footwear of all time. He loves them. Says they are true to length and a tad bit wider than usual. And Zappos? The greatest of all time. Won't buy shoes anywhere else. Ever. Happy New Year!

These boots are the real deal. In so many ways. I will begin by saying they require a break in period. What good things don't? About fifteen all day wearings, with a day off here and there for good behavior. They feel good. Real good. All day long good. But let's face it, these are boots, and it's about how they make you feel, right? I'm a forty-six year old guy, and I haven't walked so tall since my last pair of Frye boots twenty-eight years ago. I'm not about stylin' but these boots are stylin'. My wife loves them. I've had half a dozen women comment on them. When's the last time that happened to you?

A gorgeous, very comfortable boot. It takes a bit of efforts the first few times getting them off and (especially) on, but they are well worth it.\r\n\r\nSize-wise, I wear a half size smaller than for my usual sneakers, otherwise there\'s too much extra room in the boot. That could explain the slight difficulty to put them on.\r\n\r\nI only wish the leather was a little bit thicker. Not that it is thin at all, but some of the wrinkles due to the aging of the boot felt somewhat deep.

I was very satisfied with Zappos. The personnel was very considerate and friendly. The first pair of the Frye Harness boots I received (chocolate vintage leather) in the 10½ medium width, the stitching on one of the pull straps was coming apart. I called Zappos and they were more than willing to send me another pair without paying for the second pair. The second pair was in excellent shape. Both times that the boots were sent arrived at my house within two days. That was excellent shipping! The first pair did not come with a return shipping label, I called Zappos and they emailed the return label and the boots were shipped back. The service at Zappos is great. The boots are darker than I expected and they are more of greyish dark brown than they are chocolate. I normally wear EE in all shoes but I had tried on a 10EE prior to this purchase and it was too wide so I went half a size up in the medium width and they fit pretty well. Initially, the right boot was really snug but has since begun to soften up and conform to my feet. Compared to other Frye harness boots I own the insoles in these particular boots are stiffer, inserts will help. The more I wear them the better they fit and I am liking them more and more. I would recommend Zappos. Their customer service is really great, and in my opinion Frye boots are pretty good too.

I love my boots. They look great, they feel great, and every time I wear them I get compliments from people. The service at Zappos is awesome! Don't be scared to call them and ask questions.

I wanted a pair of these when I was in high school 40 years ago. My wife buys a lot of shoes from Zappos, so I checked out the website and was pleased to find these boots were still in production. Zappos makes it too easy to spend money. ;-)

Boots are comfortable out of the box. Wore them all day without breaking them in.

I love these boots. They're comfortable, keep me warm when riding, and the best part my girlfriend thinks they look hot. They run true to size. Only complaint is the left one is a little difficult to get on but this may just need to get broken in.

These look great and fit true to size. My husband wears a 10.5 and the 10.5 was the perfect fit. They stretch a little after wearing around. And can't say enough about Zappos' excellent customer service.

Excellent boot! Comfortable, stylish, functional, holds up to wear. Good for casual wear and even work wear (where steel toe isn't needed). I couldn't be happier!

Always trust Frye. This is my 4th pair. Outstanding quality and durability. I usually wear a 12, with FRYE I go 13, they seem to be cut small for their size. Zappos of course rules. Quickly becoming my 'goto' for all fashion. They surprised me by overnighting my boots. I had no idea, I mentioned to the phone lady I was going to an event and should have ordered earlier. I really love Zappos. I miss the long gone days of excellent customer service. Zappos never tells me 'no'. I wish Best Buy and most other vendors would take a lesson.

The most comfortable boots ever put on! The same style for about the last 150 years...a classic. The vintage look is awesome.

I got these boots for my boyfriend for his birthday. He loves them! He wears them all the time, they are comfortable, fashionable and look good. They are also easy to slip on and off!

I love my boots. I originally purchased my actual size then did have to return them because they were 1/2 size too large. Zappos was so accommodating with the exchange. They have awesome customer service! The boots are great. They look great and are comfortable, although a bit hard to get on at first. My husband got the exact same ones in guys. He loves his, too! There is quality all the way. We are happy customers!

Very nice boots. They seem slightly larger than stated size, but I knew that before I bought them and wanted to leave room for some insoles to add some cushion so they seem perfect with the insoles I added and now that they are broken in they are really comfortable. I am looking forward to wearing these boots often!
