This is my second pair of Zamberlan Vioz GT hiking boots. These are my go to hiking boots for total support, comfort and durability. I use them for day hikes as well as 2 to 3 week backpacking (as my only footwear). They work well with a medium weight wool hiking sock. I keep them well greased and when worn with waterproof gaiters my feet stay dry for shallow stream crossings and muddy trails. I'm starting to wear out my first pair. I've been concerned that I might not be able to replace them so I went ahead and ordered the second pair.

My wife loves the boot but I will be exchanging it for the next size up. Compared to all of the other shoes and boots she has, these seem to run smaller.

These are amazingly boots! If I did any serious hiking I would have kept them, but the bottom is way to rugged for my daily sidewalk/dirt path walking. Wish they made a more casual version.

Great, attractive hiking boots, not for my feet. I have difficult feet and they hurt at the side of my right foot, they are beautiful though for the right feet.

Best hiking boots I've tried in 15 years. Crush the Asolos. Hesitated on the price.

These boots made me feel 10 years younger. They performed like magic on the trails. Highly recommend. They felt already broken it and all I had to do was wear them and go.

I bought this boot 3 years ago at REI in Portland Oregon. I went back in December 2016 to hopefully buy my second pair, the salesman told me they never carried Zamberlan for women, I told him I bought my first pair in his store, my husband who was with me also told him the same. He continued to argue the point that they never carried them. I told him he obviously did not want to assist me in selecting any boot, I walked out angry, drove home 4 hours to Southern Oregon, got on my computer and contacted Zappos. I now have my second pair of Zamberlan Vioz GT boots and I am very happy. Thank you Zappos. This is a great boot that I use for day hikes in So. Oregon. I enjoy a stiff, well built boot with ankle support, this is the boot for me!

AMAZING boots! No need to break in - wore them for a 4 mile hike the first day out and no hot spots, blisters, or issues. Sturdy support around your ankles helps with longer hikes and I really liked it. These boots are very solid but not heavy - I never feel like I'm wearing big shoes with them on. Great grip on the trail (can get a little slippery in streams) and totally waterproof. Included footbed is very comfortable and breathable wool. I've never had luxury hiking boots before now but I get it! I'll be keeping these for life.

Probably the best boots I've ever owned! They are hand crafted in Italy and fit as if they are custom made to my foot. Very good arch support and provide an exceptional foundation for any activity. Fit seems true to size. Would definitely purchase again - although probably won't need another pair for years and years as they are so well made!

I really liked this boot - comfortable out of the box, nice leather, easy lace-up, and comfortable around the ankle. I also ordered my regular size and and wore with hiking socks. The reason I returned it is because, compared to the Lowa Mauria, I liked the Lowa a bit better. The Lowa is higher up on the ankle and I felt more support there as well as a little bit better arch support. (However, I am a person who likes and needs a firm support.) The Lowa has a toe guard and the Zamberlan does not. These last two items were not the deal breakers. Had I not found the Lowa Mauria, I would have kept the Zamberlan Vioz GT. Give it a try as it is a great boot.

Awesome hiking boots! I wear a true size 8 almost always - in these I wear a 38. I know, I know, according to Zamberlan size chart I should wear maybe the 38 but probably the 39. Thanks to Zappos and their fantastic shipping/returns, I determined that the 39 is too large and the 38 is the keeper! Can't wait to wear these out and about!

I have had these boots for 3 years and the "style" hasn't changed in the new model. My boots look like hell but they are durable. I wear them for hiking (no kidding) but I also use them as construction boots. They do not have a steel toe, but they look like they do, and I haven't been caught yet (as a renovation volunteer, I see idiots who come to the site in gym shoes, so who would bother about me!). No, the paint spots won't come off as they would if the finish weren't porous, but I didn't buy them for looks. Anyway, I wear a 7 or 7.5 and went with a 7.5 despite several people saying these run large. I don't know anyone who would wear these without boot socks, so I am glad I ordered on the large size. Finally, they were comfortable from day 1 -- what leather boot has no break-in? -- these -- and they are just as comfortable today. Too bad I can't wear them to work. Business casual they aren't unless you live in Portland.

Bought for a Montana hiking trip. Have worn them for a few small hikes thus far and they are very comfortable and no hot spots. A very well made boot. Also, I think that Zappos has the best customer service in the world! Would buy this boot (from Zappos) again.

These are fantastic boots. As others have noted, there is no break-in time at all; they were comfortable immediately. I have long toes, and finding shoes that fit is a perpetual problem. These boots fit! They are comfortable! They are great in snow and rain. My only wish is that Zamberlan would make a WALKING shoe for summer--and make it the RIGHT way in ITALY. I am willing to pay for it!

I've been wearing these boots for about 5 years now. They have been the best boots for hiking and backpacking that I've ever had. I have problem feet, and need a lot of support. These have worked perfectly. Most shoes kill my feet after 2 miles, and lighter weight boots after 5 miles. I can hike all day in the these boots. The boots have held up very well. If I clean them up after a hike, and apply the proofing cream Zamberland recommends, they look like new again. The Gore-Tex has been great--these boots really are waterproof. The only times my feet have been wet is when I got water in above the ankle. The fit is good for my feet. I have skinny heels, but need a wider toebox. They are borderline narrow in the toebox for me, but really just right I guess, because they hold my foot snugly, but without causing any blisters or pressure points. I expect these boots to last for many more years. They're expensive, but worth the price tag.

Bought these for my wife because I have a pair in the Men's Version. Great support for side hilling, and the aggressive tread keeps you from slipping where a lot of other boots will give way. Stay tight all day. Not one sore spot on my feet or ankles. Submerged completely in water and no leakage after a year of use. Great style to wear around town or in the hills.

Wow is all I can say about these boots! I have been ardently looking for a replacement for my 30 year old Vasque all leather hikers. I had all but given up on finding a pair of boots that were comparable to them. My feet are narrow, and I love to hike but my old Vasques were just worn out! Voilà, I came upon the Zamberlan Vioz GT! They reminded me of my Vasques. I am on week two of wearing them, have done walking as well as hiking. Noy a blister or sore spot one. These boots are an answer to my prayers! I am truly impressed with the workmanship and attention to detail. I do wear orthotics inside my boots. The boots accommodate them quite nicely. They are pricy at first glance but if they last as long as my Vasque boots I feel that I will be way ahead in the long run. Plus, these are water-resistant and my Vasques were not. I will have these boots for the long haul. Great fit, great weight, very comfortable, yet flexible.

A boot of excellent quality in both craftsmanship and material. I got this boot because I need a good 'day' hiker. There is enough shoe here for a good backbacking boot. But I was unable to find another good quality boot; (Danner's boot I am interested in is not available in my size at this time)I decided to keep this one and told my friends, "I know it is over kill, but I've got a nice hiking boot." Now I am glad I kept the boot that is more boot than I need. It is very comfortable and keeps getting more and more comfortable. With each wearing it forms a closer match with my feet.

These are super cute and I have heard that they are very well made, however oddly they were tight over the top of my foot - though width/length were fine and generally I have a 'low volume' foot. My husband reported the same problem with a new pair he tried (in Men's). They felt tolerable; possibly if I were just walking around town I'd pick them, but I was concerned that close top would rub when I walked a long distance - so returned.

I waited for like 6 months for a size 8 to be available as people said to order down a half size. Finally couldn't wait any longer and bought the 8.5 and wore a thick pair of wool socks. No break in period. Not as heavy as I was thinking they would be. Overall super happy I bought them.

I got a pair of these and the Gore-Tex lining, after 3 months, started to bunch up in the toe area and felt uncomfortable. I called Zamberlan, sent them to their cobbler, who said it was a defect in the Gore-Tex lining and could not fix them. So I ordered a second pair, and when it started happening again after 3 months, I just sent them all back. Never have had that problem with any other boot.

The bizarre and careless mis-placement of the sole of the heel forces the foot to roll diagonally outward and backwards. Now that I look carefully, you can see this in the product photo: the inner front of the heel projects lower than the rest of the sole. If you look from the back, the bottom of the heel is not perpendicular to the uppers: it tilts. I returned them. I’m afraid I’d break an ankle in them. Style-wise: the style, with its narrowed toes, is favored over comfort. At mile 5, when your feet may have swollen a bit, your toes may hit the front of the boot in a very unpleasant way. There is nothing more agonizing than tight boots on a hike. I guess you have to pay extra for a boot which is actually comfortable.
