Beautiful looking shoe with great fit and comfort. As I lace the shoe my foot seems to sigh with relief from the felt sense of support. It's not just the arch support but the entire footbed feels just right. My medium width foot is comfortable with no toe crimping. The design is lovely, and the stitching along the top visually camouflages the length of the shoe. I wear a size 9.5 / 40, which can look frighteningly long. The stitching brings a welcome aesthetic. Very well made and well designed shoe with soft glove-like leather inside. Love the shoe!

I read all the reviews before purchasing and I am definitely giving this shoe five stars. I own several Naot sandals and nothing compares to their cork foot bed. I have had three foot surgeries and have been experiencing tarsal tunnel lately....I wore these all day and I am pain free! Love them...I have no sore spots, it took me a couple of hours to adjust to the cork...but they feel awesome and are still on my feet! Plus, I had loads of compliments on them. If they continue to please me, I will be buying another color!

These shoes are superior. They have great support and wear like a great sneaker. Yet they can be used as casual professional. I wear them all the time and they still look like new!

Love, love, love these shoes. As suggested by others, I ordered a size smaller than my usual size. While that's working out okay, I'm not sure I'd do it again. I'm a pretty classic 8, and the 38s are okay, but when I order another color, I'll get the 39.

On the information provided by Zappos for the Kumara, I ordered down one size to size 40. Please note that I always always wear a 41 in Naot Elegant and Koru models, but I thought, oh well, they should know. Not. I'm ordering a 41 (from another website, Zappos is out of that size), to compare before I decide which to keep. I can wear the 40s with no socks and I think they'd be fine that way, but I need the flexibility of wearing socks, I think, as I'm buying these for walking on a European trip. I'll definitely buy a spare pair of insoles and rotate them while we travel. The width is a bit narrower than most Korus I try on (mostly they're too wide for me so I stick to Mary Janes, where the strap holds them on), the arch support is excellent, and I really like the sparkly silver trim and contrast stitching on the black leather. Slightly diagnonal toebox with plenty of room for my slightly wide-ish toes on my slightly narrowish feet. Not your usual plain black clunky walking shoes at all. A bit of style! I'll write another review later after I try on the 41s in a couple days.

Love this shoe. It is so comfy. I'm on my feet a lot, I do a lot of walking at my job - these sneakers are perfect - my feet love them. I chose onyx leather with silver - adorable shoe - lots of compliments from total strangers. I purchased my regular size - fit perfect. Thanks Naot for the Kumara. Also, thanks Zappos - the only place I buy my shoes. Always arrive the next day!

Probably the most comfortable shoes I've ever tried on, but have an "orthopedic" look in spite of the cool, silver detail. I hemmed and hawed, and finally finally sent them back.

These shoes are extremely comfortable and provide excellent arch support. I recently had a hip replacement and find these shoes provide the stability I require as I recover.

These shoes are totally worth the money! I am still having a stroke re: the price, but these are crazy good shoes. Can't believe I've not heard of them before, probably 'cause of the price. Anywho, I highly recommend these shoes. I did have to return the 37's, which listed as size 6, but they were much too big. 36's fit perfectly.

I have inward pronation, flat arches, a wide forefoot, narrow heel. By some miracle, these shoes are the most comfy I own. I love them and wish they came in red, navy, etc. Naot makes the best shoes for me by far and I have spent much money, time, etc. searching. When my feet were younger, less arthritic, other brands worked okay but from now on I stick to Naot. Hope you restock the boot called Oyster. Zappos is great!

The NAOT Kumara (in White Leather) is the best casual shoe! I have just received and have already worn practically every day my second pair of Kumara's. I absolutely love that NAOT has modified the leather trim that rims the black sole. On the earlier model of this shoe, the trim was a sparkly, almost gaudy embellishment. This new, plain natural leather trim is much more attractive and also renders the shoe to be much more versatile. The arch support is superb! The toe box is roomy; it is both deep enough and wide enough to accommodate thicker socks, but, also wears well with either no socks are very thin footies. The heel cup fits nicely and surrounds and hugs the wearer's heel so there is no slippage when walking. The sole is fully cushioned and extremely durable. This shoe wears forever! I had my first pair for almost 18 months and wore them for some portion of the day, almost every day for that entire time period. I realized, finally, after receiving much grief from my family about my well-worn sneakers that I needed a replacement. Rather than venture into unknown territory, I was ecstatic to discover that NAOT is continuing to manufacture the Kumara and I pounced on the purchasing opportunity! I am a very happy customer! Try the Kumara today. You will not regret your decision!

Classy-classy-classy. Beautiful leather. So comfortable. I have never been stopped and asked about my shoes as often when I wear these. The images do not do justice, they flatter your feet. I highly recommend keeping shoe shapers in these as you want to wear them a lot. So comfortable for travel. They lasted me 5 years with constant wear and they did not wear out, I am just fussy that my shoe must look perfect, I gave them to a friend who loves them now.

These are amazingly comfortable. These shoes are extremely lightweight but yet have good foot support with plenty of toe room. True to size also.

I have been purchasing Naot from Zappos for a few years since I discovered that I have plantar fasciitis. These shoes are terrific! They are so comfortable. I intended to just wear them for a little while the day they arrived and then forgot and wore them the entire day. They were perfect right from the beginning. No time needed to break them in. The laces are very fine and short, but surprisingly, they do not come untied! These are the perfect shoes. I may decide to purchase them in a different color some day.

Kumara (blue/steel) - I knew these would be great since I have them in white (black trim) and all black purchased 7 years ago. I also knew the color since I have them in a clog style also from several years ago. They require the smallest amount of break-in time because of the cork inner sole which amounts to one wearing. The leather is soft and very flexible. While this is not an athletic shoe there is lots of support which makes it a great choice for all-day running around as well as travel. This particular shoe does run a bit large according to Naot so I ordered a size down and it's a perfect fit. The look is very European and while they do appear a bit awkward while looking down at my feet the compliments I get negate that issue. More importantly my feet are very happy!

Very comfortable stylish sneaker-substitutes. I'm a size 6 for American sizing. Naot size 37 fit well in this style. However, I wear a size 36 in my favorite Naot sandal (style Kayla). Color is better than the photo - nice metallic blue with metallic sheen.

My feet and I aren't speaking. Because I prefer beauty often over function. I've purchased a few Naots over the past couple years and honestly they are some of the ugliest shoes my feet love. I hate paying a lot for ugly. But not the Kumara is both good looking and very comfortable; right out of the box. True to size - which is not always the case for Naot. Good looking comfy for my flat, tore another tendon, you're too vain feet.

The Kumara is the most comfortable shoe I've ever worn, right out of the box. Since I have Morton's Neuroma' s and Plantar Fasciitis in both feet, comfort is paramount. I currently have 2 pair in white, one of which has seen better days. I came back for a 3rd pair and am very disappointed they no longer have white. Other colors are not an option. I live in this shoe.

Love Naot shoes. However, have ordered 2 different sizes and this shoe is not the shoe for me. 7 too short and 8 too wide in the heel. More blue than gray in color. Wanted more of a silver color.

These are just about the most comfortable shoes I have ever had. They accommodate my orthotics, but with the Naot footbed would also be fine for anyone who doesn't need orthotics. Wasn't sure I'd like the color, but it's terrific -- with jeans, for example, the color looks bluish; but with gray or black, the color blends and looks more dark gray. Work well with "trouser socks" or other lightweight socks, and in fact I've even worn them with Smartwool socks and just loosened up the laces a tiny bit. I've had my pair for nearly a year, and from October through May I wore them at least twice a week. (Not wearing them quite so often in the summer heat.)

Fabulous shoe. I have chronic plantar fasciitis and have spent thousands of dollars on orthotics and shoes just to be able to walk for a limited amount of time without excruciating pain. I love the look of the shoe - unlike any other walking shoe. This shoe (or any of the Naot's) coupled with Nikkei magnetic shoe inserts have given me a new lease on life and I'm back to walking 4 miles a day with minimal discomfort. The Kumara is expensive but has been well worth it for me. I'm saving up for another pair in black.

I bought the steele/black combination and was wowed by the color when I first opened the box. The Steele is more of a metallic blue-grey with silver highlights. That is eye-catching and definitely different looking, but not overly flashy. Regarding size I normally wear a 39, especially in comfort shoes with wide toeboxes, but with these, my feet felt better with the 40. The 39 brought my toes up to the very edge of the shoe, but the 40 allowed my toes a little more movement and room to freely slide forward without getting scrunched in the toes when walking downhill. This runs contrary to Naot's suggestion of ordering a size down. After buying these shoes I bought another pair of Naot sandals and also purchased a 40, I stead of my usual 39. The cushioning is great, arch support great. Love the removable footbed feature, although the existing footbed is super and I do not need to add my orthotic. I bought these to wear for long-distance urban walking and they are super. They look like upscale combination of athletic shoes/oxfords.

I love this shoe. It was not comfortable right out of the box, but I wore them around the house to break them in and to make sure I liked them since they are pricey. Now I wear them everywhere. I wanted a sturdy, 'sassy' white shoe to wear without socks when I wore capris and this shoe fits the bill. Thanks to Zappos for the free next day service. I like that a lot too.

Extremely comfortable. I bought them right before a trip, and wore them the whole time. Love the Noat footbed. The sides pucker a little: fit like a moccasin! I'm considering buying another pair in the other color.
