Comfy with amazing grip - I really dig the soles on these shoes. They stick to slippery mud, wet tile, etc. The Gore-Tex works great in 3" puddles. Highly recommended. Maybe get a 1/2 size larger if using dual-layer socks for hiking.

Perfect Fit. No need to break-in. Perfect fit. My first time to purchase a pair of shoes online. Thank you Zappos for a very smooth and timely service! These shoes are perfect! Excellent insole and arch support. I didn't even have to break it in. It felt like Salomon took a cast of my feet and tailored the shoes to fit well. This is Gore-Tex material so it's waterproof, just walked this new pair in the rain this afternoon. Get the Elios XCR!

The best shoe I ever had - I actually bought a pair at a store called Bob's and they felt unbelievably comfortable, but I could not find anyone who carried a selection of Salomon shoes. So I went online and the rest, well I think you know the rest.

Salomon Elios XCR - Excellent shoe… wish it came in a black+ combination. I buy Solomon because their sizes are consistent and they fit me. There are other brands that do not fit me that are the same size so it makes it difficult to purchase by mail.

I'm a disc golfer and I've been looking for a shoe with the comfort, traction and durability that I need, and I believe I've found it. And waterproof too!! I can dunk my foot in mud (by accident) then just stick it in the water (on purpose) and rinse it off. COMPLETELY waterproof unless water gets in over the top. Overall I love 'em and I'll be buying Salomon from now on. That is, unless Bite Shoes improves their disc specific shoes. =)

So Far So Good - Initially, I felt the Elios XCR was a bit stiff and early everyday wear to break them in produced a few hot spots. After a week however, I took them out for a 4 mile cross-country walk and was very pleased with the shoe's performance; although it should be acknowledged that these shoes offer little ankle protection as they’re not designed to be used as rough terrain hikers. I feel Salomon's are great moderate terrain hikers for anyone with little to normal arch height, as many hikers offer extensive arch support that can be uncomfortable for those of us with unpronounced arches. This is my second pair of Salomon's and I will continue to purchase these well made shoes. I would suggest going at least a half size up for anyone wearing half sizes. These shoes also look great with jeans.

Salomon Elios GTX - I've had these for 2 months. This is my 3rd pr. of Salomon shoes. My last pair was the Exclaim (discontinued) which I still wear after 8 mos. of heavy use. (Had to add diff. insole to alter arch) I find most Salomons to have high arch support which I need. Though some I've tried actually have too much. The Elios is about right though I wish it had more cushioning, esp. in the forefoot. My aging feet need it. Also it feels a little unstable probably due to the narrow heel platform. I have narrow feet and the shoe fits snugly enough but the sole could be a bit wider. The shoe does seem to run 1/4" shorter than the avg. size 13. Well made durable shoe otherwise. The gore-tex version is hot in warm weather; I haven't worn them yet in wet conditions. One last minor complaint is that one shoe has a slight squeak. I probably won't buy again but it as better than most I've tried in this type and I'm hard to fit. Your luck may be better...not a bad shoe.

My shoe review - I am happy with the looks and quality. Although I feel that the size is smaller then marked.
