Keep them in the city; not on the trails - I read so many great reviews about the Zerraports on several online sites, I was excited to have them replace an old pair of Teva Terra Fi. (I love the Tevas, but the fact that they get so odiferous is their main downside). I normally wear a size 7 or 7.5, so I originally bought the Zerraports in a size 7, which was way too small and my heel hung over the back. I then ordered the size 7.5, which turned out to be too big and my foot slops around in them, so their sizing seems questionable. Also, the toe cap does not fit well: It rubs on the tops of my toes and chafes the top of the knuckles. The toe cap on the women's style does not cover the little toe, so if I'm walking strongly, the tip of my little toes catch painfully on the edge of the toe cap. They also don't seem to have any instep support and feel like walking barefoot on a hard floor. The shoes will gather debris and dead skin in the toe cap, icky and noticeable when taking them off. Also, the velcro on the heel strap is not placed well; when the heel strap is fastened - even after adjusting it several times - the male/female sides of the velcro don't match up well. Only about 1/4" of the velcro sticks together and the rest of the strap hangs freely, so it doesn't feel very secure. I bought the shoes for extended hiking, camping, and woodland use (what I used my Tevas for) but I'll only be wearing the Keen Zerraport for errands around town and bicycling since they'd be a liability to the health of my feet for anything more strenuous. These points pertain to the women's style Zerraports by Keen. My husband has the men's and he likes his, but the men's version seems to be built differently (different material on the sides, toe box goes back further and covers all the toes, more velcro on heel strap). I would not recommend the women's Zerraport shoe except for casual wear in the city, or anything not requiring a lot of walking on natural terrain.
