Best pair of boots I have ever own. I work on my feet all day on hard surfaces and hike everyday..Recently hiked Mt. Marcy in the ADK..18 miles of roots rocks and more rocks...no aches at all. This is my second pair and my first pair are 3 years old a little worn but still comfortable. Will continue to purchase these boots as long as they are continued to made in Italy. No OUT sourcing...just purchased another pair for our son!

So far so good! OK for 10+ years I was dedicated and faithful to that other Italian brand 'A' boot.. After loosing a toe nail constantly on each of 4 trips, I decided to switch up and give brand Z a whirl. Wow - super comfortable so far on weekend outings. The big test coming up on an 8 night trip but so far, I have confidence that these will more than make the grade. Good arch support even before I pulled the in-sole's out and place my orthodics in, a nice toe box and not to mention the little stylish Italian flag make these boots a good choice so far. Too early to tell if they will keep me dry hopefully I won't have to find out too soon - But with GorTex I'm sure they'll be just fine.

I have worn a large variety of boots in many different conditions. These boots are by far my go to every time. Some people complain about the leather scratching too easily or scuffing. If you wanted a nice leather loafer then you should have bought one. I have jammed these boots in between granite boulders to stabilize my self and stood in below ankle water for nearly an hour. These boots don't fail. I have at least 150 miles on them and the soles are only just starting to show significant wear. When it comes to a hiking/ light backpacking boot, I will always buy these boots.

Purchased this pair of Zamberlan Vioz GT's after being disappointed with a pair of Danner Mountain Light II's. Right out of the box, the Zamberlan's fit much better than the Mountain Lights (same size) and offered much better internal support. I have put about 50 miles on both sets of boots and the Zamberlans are much more comfortable simply walking the streets or hiking the trails. I am not affiliated with any shoe manufacturer or any retailer and always try to buy American products. I would rate the Danners with three stars and the Zamberlans with five. Since the price for both pairs of boots was similar, I challenge the Danner folks to improve their product in comfort and support. I have to give them the edge in natural brown appearance versus the European black, grey and red design. I don't understand why so many shoe and boot manufacturers are making products that look like a bowl of Froot Loops. I am keeping the Zamberlans and thinking about returning the Danners. Zappos rocks with their customer satisfaction and shipping items in size appropriate boxes. Amazon should take a lesson in that arena. Okay, I have trashed enough companies with truthful comments. I would strongly recommend anyone considering several of the other fine hiking boot manufacturers (they all make an excellent product) to buy the Zamberlans. It kills me not to buy and recommend the Made in America product, but comfort and fit always rules the day with my shoe and boot choices. I wear a 10.5 size, D width and the Euro 45 also labeled 10H fit like a glove. Thanks for reading this novel and enjoy the ride, hike or camp-out.

Best boot I ever owned. 3 years old now. Looks new. Amazing comfort. Just replaced the laces. This boot is top notch. Yes expensive. But well worth every cent. The quality and attention to detail is obvious. No china crap here. Italian workmanship. I can say enough about comfortable this boot is.

These boots fit great and provide exceptional support. I never get blisters but these boots felt great out of the box. It took about two weeks, 90+ hrs, to get these boots fitting like they made for my feet. The rubber was a little hard at first but after a couple weeks I was getting a little better traction on rocks and tree limbs. I am a climbing arborist and work in a very abrasive world with trees, saws, rocks, pavement, gas and oil. The boots are holding up great.

I switched from Asolo boots to these boots. I love the feel and style of Asolo boots but after two years the outer sole should not come off for this amount. As far as this model of Zamerlan, can you say heavy duty, light sporty feel, and solid cabable sole? I do know from being a long time boot owner that these will take some breaking in. This does not mean that they are not comfortable right out of the box. I am just saying that they are solid made boots with a thick leather and tough toe box.

Can you say "solid boots"! I agree with another reviewer. These are somewhat heavy boots that fit so well that they seem lighter and more sport-like than they look. I do know from wearing many boots that these will take some breaking in but I do not foresee this as being painful. No hot spots, very classic leather upper. Also, if you are a hiker/mountaineer like I am and do scree/boulder fields these boots will excel in this type of terrain. They have bullet proof heavy Vibram soles!

I am a roofer. A comfortable tough rugged shoe or boot is a must in my profession. Any shoe that I buy must have a Vibram sole. I've always bought Merrel shoes/boots bugs Zamberlan's are more expensive but they are worth the money.

Got these boots three days ago, and all I want to do now is go hike! There is not anywhere that you cant go in these. For my first hike I took them up a 1 foot deep snow trail for about a mile and then went off up a creek that was partially frozen. with water running up to ankle height I never got even a drop inside. My feet remained perfectly warm with a good pair of wool socks (about 20 deg F). my only complaint is that the ice that is on top of the snow tends to scuff of the leather on the toe, the only thing I would add is a small rubber guard. The traction in the snow was pretty impressive compared to my Vasques (unsure of model). I never once came close to slipping. Everything else that has been posted in on par with my experience. I am curious as to what temperature range is acceptable in these. so maybe someone else could comment on that.

No "break-in" period, I just put them on and went hiking! Though they felt a slight bit narrower, they were still comfortable and this feeling may have been because I always wear Crocs which are usually pretty wide.

So I took the Zappos challenge, and ordered 10 top pairs of hiking books for my Kilimanjaro hiking trip in August. So I have a longer second toe, and a size 10.5 left foot, and 11 right foot, so finding boots was a challenge. Of all of the 10 pairs of boots that I wore around the house and office for 30 minutes, these were the best combination of out of the box comfort, sole stability, and ankle support. I really wanted to like the Zamberlan VIOZ Plus RR, which would have given my toes a little more width, but for some reason the Plus RR has a very odd heel strike which makes the boot roll and it was very annoying. This boot, however, feels great hiking and I have had out for 30 miles (all terrain) and it has performed great. Second place for me was the Scarp Kailesh, and the La Sportiva Omega.

As always, they arrived right on time. Fit was as advertised and they were comfortable immediately. So far I have only put about 20 miles of walking on them and that around the city (but with lots of ups and downs) but they are fantastic. Actually feel lighter than advertised. Getting ready for a month of trekking in the Himalayas and I think these will be perfect. Love them!

These are great looking boots. My only concern is that if you are hiking in them, there is no toe guard so you scuff the heck out of them. Better as winter snow boots as they grip excellently on snow or ice.

Surprisingly lightweight for a boot, good quality materials and workmanship. However, as some of the people have noted, the heel is loose, so I had to return it. Otherwise, this is a quality boot.

These boot are truly made very well. But break in for me is still ongoing. You will be required to break in this boot months before your hike. The boots are expensive and you will not be able to assess if they will work for in a small amount of time and will be nonreturnable. These boots are one of the best I have used and will enjoy them for a long time in the way of stability and support.

Very well made, extremely comfortable, but not for hiking as they are treacherously slippery on wet rocks. Really Dangerously so!

High quality, but very heavy : 3.8 lbs both, not as advertised. Very stiff, like walking in a mountain ski boot.
This is an excellent product for an alpine hiker, but not for a NJ high energy dog owner for daily wood hikes
