8.5 too big and 8 too small A pity because I loved the shoe

These are very comfortable flats with a lightly padded footbed that makes walking easy. The suede is on the thin side so I have noticed some stretching. They are true to size but if you are on the edge I would try the smaller size first.

While these aren't orthopedic or super cushiony shoes my feet and I find them extremely comfortable. Great style, stretch nicely with my foot, but not too much. Highly recommend them. I have the suede taupe pair and dropped salad on my foot and the oily mess cleaned right up. This year I splurged for the leopard print and I'm so glad I did. I'm 50 and I always worry I'll look like Cher when she dressed up in all leopard to be Laverne on the Sonny and Cher show but these are understated and flat so I'm wearing them with EVERYTHING. I recommend you do the same.

I ordered these shoes a year and a half ago in my regular size. They felt too tight so I returned them and got a half size larger. The shoes are even more comfortable than sneakers. I feel barefoot, but with a sole. I took them on a trip to China and wore them every day, trekking around the city. I climbed the Great Wall in them. Over the last 18 months of frequent wear, they've stretched out and are now about a size too large, I can't live without them. I've ordered another pair, this time in my regular size.

I read a ton of reviews then... I run from 8.5 to 9. Ordered first in 8.5 toe box was absolutely squashing my toes beyond painful in black Napa. Then I reordered a 9 in black patent and they fit perfectly. The leather is deliciously soft on the inside and so hard to find these days. I will be ordering more. Note they stretched after 15 minutes for me on the vamp which was tight at first. Just like my ballet shoes in the past. These shoes are beautiful and well worth the cost for me.

I had these in black and loved them so much that when my whole suitcase was stolen while I was traveling, I bought them again as soon as I got back. They are super versatile (hence why I was traveling with them - they go with everything) and comfortable after a very short break in period during which they sort of stretch and form themselves to your feet. The leather is very nice quality, soft but without being so thin that you see clear toe outlines like with tieks. I ordered half a size up from my usual and they were perfect.

I have been searching for a simple and comfortable pair of black flat and I finally found them. These are so simple but perfect to wear to the office and walk around in without killing my feet. I have kind of wide feet and a bunion on only my left foot, which has made shoe shopping not as fun as it used to be. I normally wear a 7.5 but those were too tight so I got an 8 and that was perfect. They are stretching to accommodate my foot shape and are fitted but not tight and they also don't rub. Thank you, Zappos, for allowing me to try on almost all of your shoes to find the right pair!!

Runs small

Love these shoes! I ordered a half size down at first based on the reviews of others but they were uncomfortably tight, so I ordered my true size and am very happy.

I ordered these in both a 9 & 9.5, because of conflicting advice on whether to size up in this brand or not. It was an "almost perfect" shoe for me. There isn't much arch support or sole thickness, so it fits more like a true ballet flat or minimalist shoe. That said, my issue was more with the sides of the shoe, which were a little gappy. My feet are narrow at the heel & wide in the toebox, but they're thin with a mid-to-high arch... these would be better suited to someone with a thicker, wider foot. I wanted to love them, but it was not to be!! Someone else will enjoy them immensely!!

I love the true red color. This shoe runs extremely small. I am returning the size 7 and ordering a 7 1/2 and 8 to find out which will work.

I love these shoes, but they were 1/2 size too small. I have already returned them for the larger size. Very soft and feel great on!

Thanks to the previous reviewer that gave me a head's up that this works for feet with narrow heel. First ballet flat I could comfortably wear. Made me feel graceful as I walked about town yesterday!

These are the best flats that I have ever had! They do expand after wearing so I bought my second pair a size smaller. They come in great colors, too.

These are very pretty, simple, and classic. My 13 year old wears a size 7½ Converse and 7½ Toms, but would probably need a 8½ in these shoes (we tried a 7½ which was way too small, and an 8). Both the 7½ and the 8 cut into the top of her foot. It could be the sizing or just the style/make.

These are beautiful shoes. They are the perfect ballet flats. The black leather is soft, supple and elegant. Alas, not supple enough to fit feet, which are too wide for these lovely shoes. I have a pair in suede, which stretched quickly to fit my feet like the proverbial glove, but the leather does not seem to have as much give as the suede. My feet are medium width, so I would highly recommend these shoes for those with narrow feet. Sadly, I had to return them.

I have many foot problems. Bunions, fallen arches mainly. These shoes are soft, lovely leather and conformed to my feet. In addition they are a classic lovely style. Think Audrey Hepburn.

I love these shoes but I don't know how long I can wear them. I wear a 6 1/2 or 7 depending on the shoe and based on the reviews, I went with the 6 1/2. I have broken them in but the length is still 1/2 size too small. Every time I wear them,my big toe gets sore. Wish I had ordered the 7.

I love my new shoes! They a bit too wide for my foot (narrow foot) but are so cute I bought them anyway. No arch support but I love them anyway. Love Zappos for getting them to me promptly?

These are hands down my favorite flats ever. It takes a day or two with socks to break in the suede, but I am just now reordering after Six years! No toe cleavage! And they look great with leggings and a tunic, jeans and a tee, and dressy casual ensembles.

I highly recommend that you follow their recommendation of ordering a size up from your normal size. Love the shoes!

Unfortunately I didn't take the advice of many who said to order in the next size up and these didn't fit. My foot is wide at the toe and my regular size is an 8.5. I'm going to return this pair and order the 9, they look so comfy I can only hope the new pair will fit!

This is my third pair. I bought the red ones in my regular size following the advice in the review of the ballerina. They were snug at first, but then were perfect. LOVED them. Still do about 2 years later. I wear the crap out of them. These are great quality shoes! Next I bought some black ones off another etailer. They must have been fake or a bad pair because they never stretched out. Or maybe the wrong size. They felt like instruments of torture! I took a chance and bought black ones again, but this time on Zappos. Again, I purchased my regular size and did not size up. They were snug for the first hour or two and now they are fine, just like my red ones. These are my favorite shoes! They WILL be snug at first, but then they will feel like your special shoes.
