I'm a longtime Lowa fan, this model in particular. I walk full days in them, both pavement and dirt, and they're hard to kill. These new ones seem as good as ever. I tend to put Superfeet in them, but the OEM insoles aren't bad. A great rambling shoe.

I bought these for my man and he really likes them. We originally ordered a size 14(his normal size) but they were too small! Glad they had these in a 15 because he really likes them. He likes them because they don't have a lot a of mesh area that rips when he rides his motorcycle. They are nice quality, suede and leather, but a little stiff and take a few wears to break in, which is normal.I like them because they look cool, compared to some hiking/cross trainer shoes. Overall, we are both happy with the purchase.

I normally wear a 9.5 or 10.0, so I ordered 10.0 and 10.5 and they are both too tight across my forefoot. So I did not get a chance to wear them. Made for European feet? I used to race bicycles and the European racing shoes had the same issue, but they are much better now. Am going to try an 11.0 in this shoe, because otherwise it felt excellent. Richard

This is a well made, light and comfortable shoe. Sizing is accurate. Tongue likes to slip forward a little when worn, but this doesn't affect comfort. Perhaps a little overpriced, but hopefully that translates to durability.

Lowa shoes are comfortable from the first moment you put them on, I am actually a police officer and do off duty security work. I am on my feet all day, and these boots never fail me! They ain't pretty, but darn comfy!

Great shoe - I may be a Lowa customer for life. I was looking for a shoe to travel with so I don't have to bring full hiking boots and something to wear out on the town. These shoes fit the bill perfectly. They have a great fit, are very comfortable and good looking. I can wear these all day hiking then with khakis at night. I have a hard time finding shoes as my feet are long, flat and narrow. I tried on a lot of shoes before I found these. Keens were too short, Merrells were too wide and others just uncomfortable. I was a bit put off by the price but I see now that these shoes are worth it. They feel very sturdy and seem to be built to last. If they hold up over time I can see myself just buying this model again in a few years.

Excellent Shoe and EXTRAORDINARY Customer Service! Very good shoe for my indoor use. Have been looking for quite some time for a shoe capable of handling/absorbing the stress/shock of working on concrete but still allow excellent support and resist wear. These fit the bill very well. Knew they were keepers within 2 hours of wearing them. The only consideration I can think of regarding comfort is the gusseted & padded tongue with the way the leather uppers come together at the top of the toe box may cause compression around the top of the toes; particularly if you have hammer toes, bunions, etc where an extra roomy toe box is needed. Purchased this shoe initially from another site then after wearing for 2 hours went back to buy another pair while they were on sale but they were out... Checked Zappos and they didn't have my size listed so called to check future availability and in that process Zappos offered to web-search and found this pair of shoes and at a cheaper price on another site which was all recommended by the operator/sales-person!! Truly outstanding, extraordinary, well-beyond the call of duty! My family will be purchasing many future shoes at Zappos!

Excellent hiking shoe. I have been a Lowa fan for years and the Tempest Lo has been as great as my Lowa boots. The tread is great and the lace system is helpful for quick tying on the trail. I am still in the process of fully breaking them in but they are getting better as I have worn them on hikes. I also wear them as a regular casual shoe.

Great all around shoe! Comfy, nice color scheme, and very durable. Purchased these shoes, a couple months ago and already been in 20 inches of snow and stayed warm and water resistant. Went hiking in them a couple weeks ago, love 'em! Would recommend these shoes to anyone.

Above average - A great looking shoe but I was hoping for a better fit. Good traction on a lot of surfaces. Replace the insole for better comfort.

Older model was a better shoe. In my opinion the current model Lowa shoe is not as good a fit across the toe as its predecessor, nor do I like the zappy design, which is all style and has very little to do with form, Lowa had a winner with the TEMPEST II LO and I wish they were still offering that model. If anyone knows where I can find another pair of the Tempest II Lo's in a 10.5 please let me know.

As always from Lowa, a very high quality everyday, every environment utility shoe. I like them very much. They are very nice looking. I really like the Earth tone colors and comfortable fit. I wear them at the gym, on the hiking trail in the mountains, Disneyland and every other place needed for a high quality utility footwear. And, as always, Zappos is the best in customer service. I will always buy shoes for myself and family from these guys.

I found these shoes to run narrow. They feel like a heavy duty piece of equipment. Heavy but not unreasonably so. Built like a tank. Too bad they don't fit me.

I have worn Lowa shoes before and was encouraged to try these because they were on sale. I'm delighted with them. The firm sole and comfortable fit suit my feet just fine.

I can't say enough about how good Lowas are. I have had 3 pair of Tempest Los and all have lasted much longer than more expensive REI shoes and are more comfortable and better looking. They don't have as many styles of Lowas and they may be a bit more expensive but are well worth the extra money. I usually wear them in the drier months going to leather footwear in winter but still the first pair lasted 9 years. I don't wear them for hiking etc simply because I don't do that much any more but for off-street birdwatching they are the pure quill!

Took these on 3 weeks around Europe. A lot of city walking and 5 days in the mountains over hard terrain going up to 15 miles a day. Great shoe from the moment I put it on. Perfect fit and very comfortable. Obviously when hiking over sharp rocks you prefer a thicker rubber sole vs. Vibram on this shoe, and ankle support, but these made it through the test just fine. They do seem to absorb and hold onto scents more readily than other shoes I have owned though. Be sure to air them out nightly. Would recommend.

These were a gift for my husband to replace the same model he'd had for about 10 years. They are still great light hikers, and seem a bit beefier than the previous pair. He always wears an 11, and we had to exchange them for an 11 1/2 to make sure his toes wouldn't hit the front when hiking downhill.

Given the hefty price, my only disappointment is that the sole tends to wear down faster than the rest of the shoe. Otherwise, I've been very pleased with the shoe.

The shoes are not made to the same standard used in the late 90's. What was once 100 percent is now 97¾ percent simply because the 2 percent have taken more than their share by using cheaper labor. Zappos has always been 100 percent (replacing the defective product immediately)! Threads are not stitched correctly on two pairs this year. These are the best shoes in the world, the only pair I ever wear and are perfect when made correctly.

Lowa's have become my favorite boots/shoes over the years, but this one isn't as comfortable as I've come to expect. Definitely a bit snug in the toe box though has loosened up after wearing (but may tighten again if get wet and dry). Insole comfort (or lack thereof) and the general feel are my biggest issues. Just doesn't seem to fit my foot as well as other Lowas. Shoe itself seems to be built fine as would expect from Lowa.
