Excellent shoe for those with foot problems - I have all kinds of problems associated with my feet. First of all, I have pronated soles; I have heel pain, and a bad back. Even orthotics rarely help ease the pain of walking. I am a student in a city, so I commute to school everyday and it involves a lot of walking. I did some research and settled on these. So far I'm very impressed. They are expensive, but I took the chance and I'm pleased with the result. They are very comfortable, almost like walking on pillows. They have ample support and sleek good looks too. I wasn't a fan of the elastic laces, but fortunately they supply standard shoe laces as an alternative. I would say that these run fairly narrow, so if you have any question as to whether you require wider shoes or not then I suggest going with the Wide version. I ordered both the narrow and wide, and the wide fit better, but is still a bit narrow. I would say that the "wide" is equal to any standard athletic shoe. There really are no downsides. The only thing is that the shoe is a bit pointed on the tip. It makes my feet appear longer than they are. I would prefer a blunter tip. Also, these shoes do require a solid break-in period of several days. So if you're not happy right away make sure and give them a couple days and you'll feel the difference! This was my first order from Zappos, and it was the fastest, most affordable, and all around best online ordering experience I've had in a long time.

Shoe for neuropathy and comfort - Since I have found out that I am a diabetic and have significant neuropathy I have been searching for a comfortable shoe. I have worn the Brooks Beast and while comfortable does not compare with the Asics. I read about this shoe in Readers Digest and thought that while, maybe, some hype might be included I ordered it anyway. Without question the best decision I could have made. I have never in my life worn a more comfortable shoe. I work out every day and am very active and this shoe has made a significant difference. I cannot imagine buying any other athletic or comfort shoe. Congratulations to Asics on making a great shoe. There is nothing that compares to it. The comfort and flexibility are without comparison. This is not to denigrate the Brooks but the Asics is deeper and conforms to your foot better then any shoe I have ever worn. Kudos to Zappos for getting me the shoes in less than 12 hours. The gentleman who waited on me could not have been more helpful. A great shoe and if you have any foot discomfort do not think about it at all, buy it. I have orthotics but I don't need them with this shoe.

You will get used to them! Ok - you unbox them and the first thing you notice is the elastic strings. Yikes! They actually sent me regular strings, just in case. The tongue is attached to an inner lining and your first reaction is: "These won't work!" For the first few days, I suggest a shoe horn. Once the shoe slips on, the first thing you notice is that they are warm. I found that comfortable. I think the shoes are snug, supporting, and just fine for my needs. If you think the elastic strings won't tighten, think again. They're a different kind of shoe, so don't panic if they're too snug(unless they are the wrong size). I have had mine about 3 weeks and they slip on nicely and tie tightly although I do double tie mine because the strings did seem to come undone a bit too easily. Great buy and I would buy another pair.

"Hot Spots" on the Soles of Your Feet? Read This! I'm 69 and recently I started having a burning sensation on the soles of my feet -- like walking on hot beach sand in August! Turns out the diagnosis is "Peripheral Neuropathy," an odd medical problem involving nerve damage. A 5-star review by a woman whose husband also suffers from this problem prompted me to order the Gel-Cardios. I was walking in running shoes, and they were making things worse! The Gel-Cardios are wonderful! They immediately reduced the painful "hot spots" and almost eliminated them (but remember, I'm in the very early stages of this illness, so this reprieve may not last). I love the Gel-Cardios and plan to order a second pair. I've even shown my Gel-Cardios to a couple interested physicians. God Bless the lady who wrote that first review! And God Bless Zappos!

Comfort! Great everyday shoe for problem feet. Wore them on vacation with complete comfort-even on a 12 hour journey home.

Fantastic - My husband has peripheral neuropathy and a wide foot. He could never find comfortable footwear. He found these so great that he ordered a second pair and is telling everyone with foot problems to get them.

Excellent relief for tired old feet... It's been a long hard search, but I am so happy to finally have a pair of shoes that not only fit well but feel good all day. I've been recommending them to all my friends & relatives--they've been ordering them too!

Diabetes - We ordered these shoes for my husband who has diabetes with ulcers on his feet. They arrived overnight and the fit and comfort are much better than any other shoe he has tried.

Great for those who stand! Wore a pair every day for 8 months of massage therapist training (scrubs & white leather required). Now that I work in a spa, I switched to the black leather to conform to dress code. Still have happy feet and back even after doing six hours of massage!

Very comfy shoe with lots of shock absorption, but I'm not sure how stable it would be for serious training. I like it for errands and shopping, or situations where I will be on my feet for a long time. The inner lining is spandex so the shoe slides on nicely and doesn't pull your socks all tight in the front, but the heel is a little slippy. Asics sizing seems very consistent across styles so if you know your size from another Asics shoe these should fit fine. It's nice that they include elastic laces and regular laces.

Gel-Cardios are Winners - Fit: They initially felt narrow, but rapidly molded to my feet. They had great support in every way, except for "off trail", uneven surfaces. These are great for walkers and everyday wear. I wear them with black, when I would normally wear dressier shoes, and get away with it. These are one of the few sneaks I've found that give me true "all day" comfort, and my feet can't even go barefoot on anything but carpets. They have very good cushion and rebound. I particularly like the elastic shoe strings. When they are set loose, I can slip my feet into the sneaks without using my hands. When set snug, the sneaks work well in cardio workouts, hiking, etc. I am totally satisfied with Zappos delivery...very quick!

Wicked comfortable - Bought these for a trip to Rome...wanted comfort without looking like a sneaker-wearing American...x-tremely comfortable walking many many miles each day for two weeks and, in black, didn't scream tourist!

I Love Asics - I am a dyed-in-the-wool Asics wearer. I wear them for work, where I need an all-leather shoe. Asics fit the bill, and are comfortable all through the day. Zappos is one of the few places that I can find all-leather Asics. Thank you.

Comfortable sneakers - These look good (I have the dark color) and are quite comfortable: although they are not quite as wide as I wanted (I did get EE).

Versatile Walking Shoes - I am a runner and a walker. Only Asics will do. It is great to see that this shoe in 11.5EE is true to size as compared with sneakers, and that Asics did not limit the shoe to whole sizes or one width. These satisfy the need for "black shoes," when crossing Boston or various other terrain. Always happy to see stylish black sneakers from Asics.

Highly recommended - This shoe came to my attention through a review in a Reader's Digest article. My husband has Diabetes, and our son in another state has foot issues related to Lupus. I sent the link on the Asics in the RD article to our son and he immediately ordered a pair from Zappos. He received his shoes the following day and by the end of the day he called and said he was walking in comfort for the 1st time in months. I then ordered a pair for my husband. Next day-here they were. They happened to be a bit snugger than he likes, but that was due to his choice in size request. So we painlessly returned them and received his new pair within 24 hours. He also is a total convert and won't even consider putting his beloved boots back on his feet. They look GREAT, too. No one would ever believe they could be 'comfortable shoes' by looking. Zappos provides unbelievably amazing service. Thank you so much.

Love these shoes! My husband who has Type II diabetes was having a terrible time finding comfortable shoes. One of my friends had read about these in Reader’s Digest and recommended them to us. My husband used to take off his shoes continuously, even in restaurants. Now he says that his feet are happier in these shoes than out of them.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! These shoes have been a godsend. I've had tarsal neuropathy for about 15 years and started having trouble with plantar fasciitis last year. This significantly interfered with my walking, which controlled my blood sugar very well. The day these shoes arrived I was able to go on a 2 mile walk for the first time in 6 months.

Great Shoe - As a diabetic, was looking for a shoe that was as comfortable to wear as a Brooks Beast. This is a very comfortable shoe, though didn't beat the Beast!

Happy Feet in MN - Wow - I have been on a mission for the perfect, comfortable shoe for my husband who is diabetic and has neuropathy. Asics Gel-Cardio is that shoe. The fit is perfect - the shoe looks great and he can walk, work and even work-out with no pain, pinching or rubbing on toes. He doesn't even use/need his orthotics! I love Zappos -- where do you find your fabulous, customer service oriented staff? They are the greatest! Waiting for the correct size to arrive in the black style.

Great Walking Shoe - The Asics Gel-Cardio were a little more expensive than I usually buy for walking shoes, but so far, I believe they're worth it. I weigh about 180lbs and the cushioning seems to be just about right for that weight. I hope these last a long while, but when I'm ready to buy again, I would definitely consider this shoe. I'm also pleased with Zappos. I was a little reluctant to buy shoes on line, but all went great. I was told it would be 2 days but they were here the next day.

Cardio comfort - Asics Gel-Cardio makes you feel like you are exercising on a cloud! Unbelievable quality for the price....more expensive brands don't compare.

Best Asics shoe yet - I have been using Asics shoes for years, but this is the best one I have ever had. The fit, feel, stability and looks are exceptional.
