Great shoe. I suffer from mild plantar fasciitis and this shoe gives me the support I need. I sometimes take my dogs for one-mile walks in these and my feet don't hurt a bit. The toe holder is comfortable after a short break-in period. This is my second pair of OluKais and I am a satisfied customer. Note that the picture is at least one to two shades darker than the product appears in person.

Outstanding Product! I wanted to hold off in writing a review until I had the chance to wear these amazing sandals for a month. I am glad I did, and can say, much like many other reviews, these are the best sandals I have ever worn. The first 2-3 days are tough, unless you have broken in a pair of leather sandals before. The strap and the thong are much stiffer, but will adjust eventually. Just wear them. What has really impressed me is the foot bed. About 5-6 years ago I purchased a pair of Merrell sandals, of a similar quality, although they had a microfiber foot surface, and more of a cross trainer outsole. The heels, in particular were much thicker, and at the time, I felt were more supportive and comfortable. The thong was severed in a one off accident 3 years ago, and I have been searching for a replacement ever since. They discontinued the model for some reason. I have purchased 2 other Merrell products, a pair of Reefs, and 2 pairs of Teva’s since. None of them have compared to that original experience, until now. I will say the construction and design of these sandals is nothing short of beautiful. What concerned me was the relatively flat heel, and now that I am wearing them a month, and getting used to them, I believe I prefer the design. These sandals really do become a part of your feet. Whether on pavement, grass, or sand, or water they just feel like they are part of you. You will build up a callous of sorts on your heel to naturally absorb the impact of walking. I actually have more energy and feel as though these sandals support my entire spine and the way I walk. I am considering purchasing a pair or two for relatives, as gifts for the holidays, but don’t think I can do so without buying another pair myself. I purchased the “dark Java/toffee” combination and the strap is considerably lighter than the model in the picture; however, I like the contrast better than as pictured, and if I had taken exception, the Zappos buying experience is there. The “toffee” foot bed is very cool and shows the detail of the scroll work after a week or so. (it is very light unless you get it wet at first). Bravo!

I love these OluKai flip-flops, they are so nice and comfortable, I want to call them shoes, anyway, I will never wear another brand again, thanks Zappos!

This is the second pair of Hiapos I've bought recently- my son liked the first pair I bought for myself and wanted a pair for himself, one of the rare times when a 17 year-old agrees with his father on matters of taste. They are extremely comfortable, with good arch support, reminiscent of having a Chaco or Teva-type sandal on your foot. They're also handsome (imho) and well-made. Mine survived a recent spearfishing trip to the Exumas where someone borrowed them to climb the razor-sharp limestone at the Thunderball Grotto, and then jumped in through the hole in the Grotto ceiling. I rinsed them off with fresh water, and after the trip treated them with Sno Seal which helped restore the leather soles where they'd been cut and scratched. Since a good portion of the sole is leather, interspersed with raised rubber pads, I'd be careful about taking them off-road in rocky areas. I'd recommend treating them also with a waxy leather treatment like Sno Seal or NikWax, will help with both waterproofing and abrasion resistance. Both my son and I wear 11.5's and found they ran true to size.

Just got my Hiapos...unreal fit, style, quality and comfort. OluKais are the best sandals, slaps, flip flops out there, buy some!

Great flip flop. The fit was perfect and worth the money. I have another pair of OluKai sandals but these are superior in looks and quality.

Great sandals, love my Hiapos. My second pair of Olukais, after literally wearing out my previous pair. Decided to spend a little extra on the Hiapo model this go-around, and love the additional details and the all-leather construction. Highly recommended!

OluKai makes the best flip-flops on earth. The Hiapo are beautifully constructed and extremely comfortable. As for the Zappos buying experience, it was flawless, as usual.

They have changed the sizing since 2008! I ordered these in 2008 for my then fiancé, and he wore them for our honeymoon and every summer resort-casual event that we have been to since. I finally made him replace the old pair and had to order, return, and order again because the sizing had changed. The new US size was one size smaller than on the last pair, but the corresponding EUR size on the two pairs was the same.

Great footwear for flip flops. I agree a bit pricey but comfort beyond any other flip flop. I have had my Reefs feel totally flat in comparison. Bought on vacation in Maui, and will seek again when these are worn out. My feet are worth it!

I was a bit skeptical about spending so much on a pair of flip-flops but am really glad that I did! These are by far the best made and most comfortable flip-flops that I have ever owned! I do not see myself wearing any other brand.

The OluKai Hiapos are great! they fit well, feel comfortable, and are attractive both on/off your feet.

I wear flip-flops whenever I can and THESE ARE THE BEST. Yes, I read the reviews before I invested the money, and I know it's what everybody says blah, blah, blah BUT IT'S TRUE!

These fit like a glove from the first time that I put them on. They are great flip-flops even for work. They look great and feel better. OluKai, my Doc Martins of flip-flops, the only right choice.

Super comfortable and super supportive! It's only been a few weeks, but so far I am real pleased. I am hoping they last since they cost so much! It was hard to get over the price tag, but these sandals are worth it! Great feel, great fit. No issues whatsoever.

These were my first pair of OliKai sandals. What a revelation! Always wore cheaper flops, purchased at local Surf shops. No more, these are my brand from now on. I've since purchased three more pair of sandals and shoes made by these folks. The quality is outstanding, the size was fairly accurate, and the style is way cool. I know they are a lot of money, but believe it or not, they are worth it. This isn't a cheap, pair of rubber flops. These are high quality leather, extremely well made, and fit my feet like a glove. I now understand what another reviewer wrote when they said they were concerned about them being stolen. These will get noticed, so, better hide them in your beach bag when you kick them off! I"m guessing if you have flat feet, you shouldn't bother with these. They are designed for moderate to high arches, and would definitely be uncomfortable.

Fit true to size - boyfriend received as a gift from me and he wears them almost every day after telling me 'he's not a flip flop guy'. These are not flip flops, they're highly supportive casual shoes that look great!

I have a similar pair in black as well. Love the quality and the comfort. I have a low arch and these sandals are ideally suited to ensure comfort in that area. Beautiful, rich color and worth the investment

For starters, these are the most comfortable sandals I have ever owned. They aren't like over-the-top, walking on clouds, comfortable so don't expect some unreal measure of comfort - but they are definitely a comfortable shoe, with great arch support. GET A SIZE UP, two if you like some room near your toes and heels. I normally wear a 10.5 in adidas and nike styles, and an 11 hugs my foot perfectly - maybe 1/16 inch past my toes and heels. The design and materials are top notch, this is definitely worth the extra money if you are sandal shopping.

These sandals are everything I had hoped for.The quality is top notch & the comfort is blissful.Do be aware that the fit on the Hiapo tends to be of a smaller size.

I consider myself very picky when it comes to shoes. They have to fit right and work and still look good. These are by far the best flip flops I've owned. When I first put them on the arch support seemed to big but after a few days, they feel they were made for my foot. They do seem a bit heavy for flip flops but this must be due to the quality that's put into them. I would highly recommend them. I normally ware between a 9.5-10 and the 10 fit perfect.

I've had my Hiapos for almost a week. From the time I took them out of the box, they were comfortable and fit perfectly. Could not be more pleased.

This is my third pair of OluKai's and my favorite. Comfortable, excellent arch support and very nice looking.

These are the very first pair of thong-style sandals (flip-flops) that I've ever worn that are comfortable beyond belief! They have excellent arch support which helps my back and spline. I recommend them highly and will certainly buy another pair of OluKai's soon.
