Very comfortable, sturdy, and all around great shoe. Feels about 1/4 size bigger than an average 11.

Very comfortable and durable shoe, I wear them for landscaping and stays dry and wet every day. Zappos was very great to work with and shoes arrived very quickly.

I love them! I have been bummed that Keen does not make wide width women's shoes and only go down to a 7 in men's. Thanks to very helpful reviews at Zappos telling me the men's run half a size small I figured it was worth a try. My hiking feet are so happy that I did.

I first purchased around 2003, and have been wearing them since. I still have the origional that I use during the summer months trekking through water while I fish.

These shoes were purchased for my husband. He absolutely loves them because of the strong stability and great arch support. Plus Zappos was the only store that had the size he needed, size 14. Thanks Zappos, this is the best place to purchase anything!

The new benchmark- Keen Targhee has set the benchmark for this type of shoe. All the "trail shoe" companies have attempted what Keen has nearly perfected. For extra heel lock, cross the laces through the tongue loop, thread each lace under the heel-strap loops- to lock behind the leather loop anchor. You can snug heel well with this lace configuration. I hope this instruction is understood. Hopefully Keen will continue to improve this model, i.e. additional lace options.

Super comfortable, great shoe for all kinds of environments. I originally bought them to go hiking around Maine and ended up wearing them everyday after that.

Great shoe. Took some time to break in. I work outside in Hawaii and I really needed something that was extremely waterproof. 45 days in and no leaks. The one small downside is that you cant tie the shoes real tight or else they will pinch across the top of the ankle.

Keen used to be a high-quality shoemaker, but their quality control has gone dramatically downhill over the last several years. For shoes that cost over $150, I expected better than this. The outside edge of the left shoe showed obvious gapping in its trim area, where none existed on the right shoe. I observed similar defects on some of the Keen’s I bought in this order. Also, the forefoot area is a good 1/4” narrower than previous versions of this model. That may not seem like much, but after walking around on concrete floors for 10 hours a day, as your feet swell, even slightly, you may find that it matters quite a bit. I rated them as “narrower” in width, for that reason. I also found this same narrowing of the forefoot area on all six pairs of the various Keen’s I ordered, so if you want a nice, roomy toe box, I suggest you look elsewhere.

I found the heel to slip excessively and returned them. No way to tie the top laces tight to the top part of the ankle - the top loop follows the gray strap and pulls tight at the lower part.

Mixed experience: I like the look and general feel, but there are two significant drawbacks: 1. They're really slippery when wet! I'd expect for a hiking boot they'd have good grip when wet, but they're dangerous on floors or smooth rock when wet. 2. Within about two months the seam on top started to come apart on both shoes. Again, really surprising as the look like high quality boots. As for fit - they're nice and wide, but actually run pretty short, so my toes are a bit pressed against the front even though I ordered a half size larger than I normally would.

Alright, I guess - Everyone who has written a review of these shoes must have written it right after they bought the shoes. Wear them a month... go ahead. In a month, you'll see the toe starting to separate from the rubber. I thought perhaps it was a defect in the particular pair I bought, so I returned them and Keen sent me another pair. It happened within three weeks with the second pair.

purchased a pair of keens in the Gargoyle/midnight navy - my son really liked the deep gray and black color combination - sadly, this shoe is misrepresented on the site. In real life, the shoe is dark brown, not black as it appears. I had Zappos send a second pair, thinking it was just an odd mistake with the wrong shoe in the wrong box, but the replacement pair was also dark brown. We gave up and he kept them - but I'm thinking Zappos should change the photo to reflect what the shoe really looks like. *I had a customer service rep check his monitor for me to make sure that it wasn't a monitor problem on my end.

I loved this hiking shoe! The shoes are high quality, have a very stable feel when walking around the house, and I really wished they had fit. The toe box was a bit shallow and the E width wasn’t quite wide enough. I’ve ordered the men’s version in EE width. I sure hope they fit!

I have a high arch and wide feet. I need toe room or they run and get sore spots. These are like food protection, comfortable, too. My go-to shoe.

Love this shoe. I previously have the Keen boot, but wanted a shorter version to wear around home. Very comfortable right out of the box. I did order 1/2 size larger than I normally wear, and am glad I did. My feet love these shoes!

This is a great, durable shoe. I needed something for when I go camping and didn't want a full blown/hardcore hunting boot. This is a great, waterproof option. The shoes come stiff, but break in quickly. It seemed to run a 1/2 size large. All in all, highly recommended and not a bad looking shoe either.

For hiking shoes and general use I buy almost strictly Keen now. I have experimented around and found them to be extremely durable and comfortable, especially if you have wide feet like myself. The Targhee II so far have been very resistant to water and very durable while enduring hiking some rugged and rocky mountains. Highly recommended.

These are excellent shoes. They have a well constructed sole, that is very supportive and immediately comfortable. I have flat feet and get great support without feeling as though though there is too much support. They are not as hot as other waterproof shoes that I have worn. If you look at the photos, you can clearly see these are wider cut shoes. I am not sure how it would work for narrower feet but these fit me perfectly without feeling cramped. They are highly recommended.

I am a big Keen fan. Have 5 pair of various styles. They always fit perfectly. This is the first one I ever got that felt just a wee bit short in the toe box. At first I thought it would be a problem, but I wore them right out of the box on a two week cruise in the Sea of Cortez hiking the desert and sand dunes. They felt fine. No problems. So I will give it a 5-star. Might be a little tight with really thick sox, or if you are busting down a really steep long trail, but I am going to guess that this is just a one time anomaly and not a big problem. I would still recommend ordering your regular size and try it out at home for a few days, just to be sure. Great intermediate shoe with solid support without the extra weight and warmth of a high top hiking model.

These are wonderful shoes! They give great support, and I can wear them all day. They're fabulous on hard, rough terrain or stone.
