Recently started taking aerobics classes again after a long 15 year hiatus, so bought these Avias because the price was right and I'd worn Avias in my early aerobics years. I love the way these look, but they didn't initially have that "like a glove" feeling and my heel slipped. I added some gel inserts and now they are great. After only about 10 wearings, I can't comment on longevity. I have been wearing Brooks Addiction for years of walking and they do fit me perfectly without inserts, but cost twice as much. I'm happy with these!

Great shoe, especially for the price. I'm an avid walker, and I went miles in these right after pulling them from the box. Only two (small) complaints: 1) the cuff around the ankle comes up a tad too high and chafes just a little, and 2) the nice wide toe box narrows precipitously just before my toes do, leaving them a little cramped, despite the generous width at the ball of the foot. But overall this is a dandy shoe, the kind that gives your step a happy bounce.

Not all bad - Felt great right out of the box. I have severe plantar problems and am very active both at the gym and around the house. I'm on my feet most of the day, caring for 3 small children. I usually wear through my shoes very quickly and this one was no exception. Before I wore out the support, etc, though, a seam on the outside of the right shoe broke and my pinky toe could stick out. Not good. I am very hard on my shoes and I wear tennies like these every day. I felt that it fell apart quicker than it should have. Probably fine for light use.

Comfort and stability - I have high arches and a sloppy gate. These give me stability and feel snug and secure but not tight. The only thing I noticed with the Avia running and cross training shoe is that it feels a 1/2 size smaller than their walking shoe. I wear 7.5M. My daughter noticed same thing. We both had to go a 1/2 larger. Their walking shoes seem even more comfortable and true to size. I also wear an orthotic in this shoe fine.

Shoe Fits & Feels Really Good - After purchasing two other pairs of Avia shoes from Zappos, this pair fit and felt the best. I teach step aerobics and this shoe feels really good stepping, providing me with the support needed. I also recently spent 6 days standing on my feet for 10 hours a day. By wearing this shoe I was able to do so comfortably. I love Zappos and appreciate their return policy, as it can be hard to find a shoe that fits. Thank you Zappos!

Dependable shoes. Avias are consistently comfortable and they well made. They last a very long time.

Not bad at all. This Avia has a raised heel and a cradle to keep you in place in the shoe. It's not bad at all. The leather is slightly stiff, and is much better after an activity like weeding. My only real complaint is that the sole has huge openings which pick up lots of gravel, and when you live on 5 acres with a gravel driveway that can be an issue. But it's a great shoe otherwise. The heel is a little cumbersome for fitness walking, but okay to go the store or walk the dog. Nice wide and tall toe box. Shoe is just a little short in length but not short enough to make me up the size.

Avia sports shoes - These are great looking shoes, but I found that they did not give very good shock absorption when on a hard surface for very long. I am a registered nurse and am on the go/on my feet all day and I find it very difficult to find a good support shoe that looks fashionable at the same time.

Ouch! I put on an old pair of Avias and couldn't remember why I had switched brands. Needing another pair of cross trainers, I opted for this one in my usual 7W. Out of the box, they were comfortable and I was delighted with the arch support, the look, and the feel. However, after grocery shopping for half an hour, the rubbing on the small toe of the left foot was unbearable and I limped thru the store to complete my errand. Very sad about needing to send these back.

Would have liked more - As an instructor for a high impact aerobic dancing class, I am on a quest for a great studio shoe, and this is a "still waiting" shoe while I continue to look. I prefer a mid-high shoe, which is almost impossible to find anymore, and when I laced the shoe up to the last hole, the shoe bit into my foot when I moved laterally. The cushioning is okay, but I did need to put in my own inserts as, like most shoes, the insert they provided was thin as paper. C'mon Avia, I generally like your shoes-step it up!

My first Avia regret - These shoes look awesome, with the green trim and the sporty black stripes. But unlike other Avia sneaks I have owned, they are horribly hot! I wore them for the first time today, and they don't seem to have any breathable leather in them. They are as uncomfortable as all-synthetic shoes, which I would never purchase. I will definitely be more cautious when buying my next pair of Avias!

Planter fasciitis - These shoes gave me planter fasciitis. They are not true to size and very inflexible. Don't buy them for intense activity.

I had been looking for a comfortable all around gym shoe for quite a while and couldn't find anything in any of the stores. Most shoes these days seem geared for runners and I just wanted a shoe I could wear on the treadmill and do some Zumba classes. This shoe is great for my needs! It is soft, supportive ( I have very flat feet, so I need lots of cushion) and very comfortable. I would highly recommend them. Additionally, this is my first time ordering from Zappos and it will not be my last! The shoes came quickly and fit great. They do seem slightly larger than the stated size, but if I tie the laces tighter, they are fine.

I love these shoes. I bought a similar style a couple years back -- they are perfect for working out at the gym.

This is my second pair of these shoes. I do a lot of step aerobic classes and weight training classes and Zumba. They give very good foot support. I tried a few other brand of shoes, as I couldn't find these in the stores anymore and had to take the others back as my feet hurt from the others not supporting my feet properly. These are the best cross training shoes I have ever owned. I have been working out for over 25 years, so have been through a lot of shoes. I love these shoes! Very comfortable. The only thing I could say bad is the shoe strings are very long. You can just cut them down to size.

I have a wide foot and was looking for a good cross-training shoe that would provide flexibility for comfort while walking and yet also be supportive for side-to-side movements like during an aerobics class. This shoe provides both excellently! I just ordered my 4th pair. I usually have to get a Wide (C-width), but this fits my foot perfectly.

A very comfortable shoe, terrific arch support, and the price is right. I love Zappos, there is no better place to shop for shoes.

Very comfy. These shoes are soooo comfy, I didn't even want to take them off when I was finished working out. They look a little bulky/dorky, so I would never wear them except when at the gym, but they are good for the gym.

Great sneaker! This shoe was sized correctly, wide width was generous and truly a wide, nice cushioning. Will definitely get this again. Good arch and heel cup.

Avia sneakers still a good bet - I've been wearing Avia cross-trainers for years, and as usual, these have not disappointed me: they're reasonably priced, attractive, and comfortable. They tend to last a long time, too. I'll definitely keep on buying them.

Avia A104W review - Great shoe; however, must be worn a couple of times before it feels completely comfortable on your foot.

Luv the colors, luv the fit - This is the 5th pair of Avia I have ordered form Zappos. Luv the fit and colors; I put bright green laces with this one and it really pops the color. I like to have all colors to go with my fitness outfits. Can’t way to get some red and black.

Avia - This is my first pair of Avia sneakers. I love them!! They were true to size and are very comfortable.
