I am so sad to return these! They are completely adorable and feminine but just don't fit correctly. I ordered the same size as my other Ariat boots (a half size smaller than what I wear in other shoes), but unfortunately I can't get my foot down past the heel/instep area. I have slightly wide feet but can normally wear standard-width shoes with any issues. I also have slightly large ankles. The leather at the heel is very stiff and doesn't seem to have any "give" to allow the foot to be pushed down into it. I tried using the pull loops, standing up into the boots, etc., but my feet just wouldn't budge, so I have to send them back. If you normally order a half size smaller than usual in Ariat boots, you might want to rethink that for these and order your regular size instead.

This boot is adorable and true to the great workmanship that Ariat Boots are famous for. Unfortunately, for me the boot was just too WIDE around my legs, which made my legs look like straws sitting in a Big Gulp cup. I am by no means a petite gal and consider my legs of average size. Just know that this boot is great if you are planning to tuck your pants into them, but dresses may present a problem if your legs are slimmer or even average in size. With that said, I am going to opt for some Dr. Martens instead.

First off, I did not keep the shoe, so I am not a great person to review it. That being said, it is a super cute, sturdy & comfortable shoe! The reason I did not keep it was because my legs are just too skinny and the shorter length of the shaft looked really funny on me. If you do not have unusually skinny legs and don't mind the shorter length, this is a great boot!! I also compared it to the Justin Gypsy (which was really wimpy in comparison), and Ariat probaby, (taller shaft, but just nowhere near as cute), and the fatbaby wins!!!

Based on what others said I kept them even though they weren't super comfy at first - the heel slipped and it was tight across the instep. But I'm glad I kept them; every time I wear them they are more and more comfy and of course super cute. Two cautions: they are a little shorter in height then I really wanted and the leather seems to scratch easily.

Well, I hated these boots at first because they completely tore up my feet with blisters. They tend to run on the small side. My mom has about 5 pairs of Fatbaby's and she swears by them. Now that they are broke in, however, they are not so bad. I wear them all the time. They are durable and keep my feet warm in the winter. Other Ariat Fatbaby's I can wear a 9 1/2; these I had to go to a 10. Because of the reinforcement on the top they tend to be on the tight side. Personally, I think I will buy them used next time because breaking them in was murder. Mainly the problem was on the back of my heels. They are reinforced, but the stitching sliced right into my heels. I have a lot of scars now. Ha!

Great boot - This is what I wear almost every day. The Bomber brown color is very neutral and "urban-appropriate". I was worried that the detail might seem too fussy, but it really doesn't. The boots hold up well, and keep my feet dry in the rain. My only complaint is that they don't come in more colors, etc. I would love to see them in a funky, moss colored suede, for instance. You could pay a lot more without getting a better boot.

Pretty Good - I haven't worn western-style boots in a long time, so the adjustment to this type of shoe has been a little rocky. They slide on my heel a little, but I'm afraid that a half size down would cause my toes to hit the end of the toe-box. The heel slippage takes some getting-used-to, but as these break in the fit bothers me less. I really like the look. They appear grayish on the website, but they are truly brown. Almost like a well-worn suede.

Ariat's Fatbaby - I really like this product. Takes a little getting used to the boot around the calf and the arch support could be a little higher. Overall good.

VERY cute, but need break-in period - These boots are very cute, and go with so many things, but they do require a break in period. These aren't a pair that you are just going to put on and wear all day the first time that you get them.

Fatbaby boots - Bought these boots for motorcycle riding. Not much of a boot person myself, but the fit has been quite comfortable. I wear a size 11 and it was true to size, with ample room in the foot. The heel is a bit large but inserts have prevented much slippage. Very cute, too!

Great work boots - I bought these for work, I am in construction. The sole is perfect for the jobsite. I got the Ostrich and get SO many compliments. The top of my foot rubs a little on the top of the boot, but they are wearing in nicely. Not too hard to get into or out of, even after a looong day at work. I would recommend these if you need a really durable and comfortable boot. If you have thick feet or high arches, wear around the house to see if you will be able to get used to the snug housing.

Love the fit and look of the boots, but the tag on the boot strap rubs my calf and I have to put bandaids on if I am not wearing tights! Since it is summer and I like bare legs, it is a bit uncomfortable!

I read several reviews that said these felt a half size larger than marked, so I ordered a 6.5 (usually wear a 6.5 or 7). I could barely get the 6.5 on my foot, and when I did it was actually painful. I have very wide feet and a high instep. I exchanged the 6.5 for a 7 and they fit much better. They are still a little snug, but they are stretching out and I can slide them on my feet without having to pull excessively.

Not the boot for high arches - Great boot, beautiful! Not the boot for people with high arches unless you're willing to put in the work. It took me quite a bit of pushing and stomping to get my foot in there. Great fit once I wore them in a bit... True to size.

Love these but... They do not work for those of us with very high insteps. It is all you can do to get this boot on and really tough to get off. Once on, they are very roomy in the toe box and even fit my larger calves’ just fine. Love they way they look but the tops of my feet complain! I always have this problem with pull on boots so, back they go! Bummer

Really Nice Looking Boot - These are really chunky and round and I love that in a boot, especially a western boot. They are so much cuter than the original pointed western boot styles. These feel a bit larger than they are sized, but I wouldn't say that they are a half size larger. I wouldn't recommend them to anyone with a high instep being that I do not have a high instep and my foot just makes it in. Once your foot is actually in, they are very comfortable. I did have to break them in a bit getting them on and off where the shaft and the ankle meet. Overall I would definitely recommend these boots. Really Nice!!!

Fatbaby Boots - These black-and-cream boots are fun to wear and pretty comfortable, thanks to the roomy toe area. They're also much cheaper than my favorite Fluevog boots!

Cute boot!! They are becoming increasingly comfortable, just a week into wearing these boots and they are feeling fine! The size is true, they are just a bit snug across the top of my foot. Nice!

Cute boots! These boots are really cute with jeans. They are fairly comfortable, but I wouldn't walk any great distance in them. They seem to run a little wide, so I went with a smaller size than normal. Overall, nice boot for the price.

Ok - These are ok boots but I have not figured out what to wear them with, the short wide top seems to make my legs swim in empty space. The instep is too tight for my high arched foot. I might wear them for fashion but not comfort...I am returning them.

Friendly Boots - In my world, these work really well. I wear my red ones to work every day (retail store, on feet all day), and the brown ones are for kicking around on the farm. I ride in these, not too wide for stirrups. Perhaps a little chunky on the bottom, but that'll wear down some. Easy on and off. Very cute. Short tops makes them nice in summer.

Very cute boots - These are very cute but a little stiffer than I had expected (which is why I gave them 4 out of 5 stars). The color is nice. The leather looks good. The fit seems true.

Break-in period (or buy tights) I love these colorful boots--I bought two pairs, actually--but so far have worn one pair only once. The boots require a break-in period. This is because the leather around the calf-part of the boot is extremely crisp (you might say, sharp) and I got some cuts and welts on my calves during the first day of use. I still love the boots, though, so I'm off to buy some thick tights to avoid more injuries!

I ordered a pair of Fatbabys with big hopes they would be the answer for my wide feet to be comfortable at work where cowboy boots are required. They were adorable! Unfortunately, the wides were not wide enough for me and were more rigid than regular cowboy boots. So waiting for them to stretch wasn't going to help. I ended up purchasing men's wide square toe cowboy boots that would stretch. I was also disappointed that the uppers were not leather and that some reviews said they would show wear fast. That said, if they fit, they're probably worth the price if you cover the upper with jeans.
