Considering I own at least three pairs of La Canadienne's classic wedge-heeled shoes (all purchased through Zappos) it was just a matter of time before I bit the bullet and purchased La Canadienne's Gaetana boot. This boot, unlike its look-alike shoe-cousins, is more difficult to put on and pull off. Once the boots are in place, however, they're so comfortable, you can easily forget you're wearing them. I actually prepped and prepared an entire holiday dinner (several hours of standing) while wearing these boots. But, as I said earlier, they are not easy to remove. The secret is to always wear them with a silky sock or stocking (nylon/spandex/microfiber, etc.) I can get them off by myself, but it's much simpler to have my husband pull them off for me. Never wear them barefoot! You have been warned!

I love these boots - pricey, but worth every penny. I get compliments on them all the time. They look fantastic and can be dressy or casual. They are light and great for travel. They pack easily without adding weight or bulk to your suitcase. They fit true to size. I have worn them for over twelve hours, much of that on my feet (I'm a teacher) and have been really comfortable. I have walked city streets sightseeing all day without my feet complaining a bit, and I'm regularly a Dansko kind of girl and don't tolerate heels well. They are waterproof. They are warm, with the functionality of a snow boot but having a sleeker, fashionable appearance. Plus, they came from Zappos incredible customer service. I will definitely purchase another pair of La Canadienne boots from Zappos. What's not to like?

Great boots! Sizing: I wear a size 7 if barefoot or wearing nylons in Cole Haan, Nine West, Banana Republic and most other brands. I ordered both the 7 and the 7.5; kept the 7.5 because with a thicker sock on (like Smartwool) I definitely needed the 7.5. So if you are trying to decide what size, I'd recommend going up 1/2 size from your barefoot shoes. Fit: I have a 14.5 inch calf (thanks for the genetics, dad!) and this fits fine over my calves. The ankle support is minimal, but completely fine. I don't feel unstable in any way. The construction is good, and the harder ankle portion does not dig in as some other boots do. Comfort: Exceptional! Love these! Warmth: Undecided as we haven't had any bitterly cold days yet. But I love the fact that the sole is thick; that will help. I wish the boot were lined in sheepskin like my waterproof Uggs, but these are definitely much more attractive!

If you are looking for an all purpose/weather boot, look no further! This boot will look great with virtually anything day or night. I was hesitant to purchase this boot due to the high price and it being made only from microfiber, but am extremely pleased with the quality and construction. The boot is sleek and stylish, very waterproof, and easy to walk in. I walk a minimum of 30 city blocks, and countless flights of stairs a day with ease. I have very muscular calves and skinny ankles, but have no problem with the fit. The description is a little misleading as to the padding in this boot (I don't feel any memory foam at all) none the less still comfortable and money well spent.

These boots are amazing! I have larger calves and narrow ankles and these formatted than any other boot I've tried!

This is a wonderful boot. I needed something dressy enough to wear with a dress and skirts, but comfortable enough to do a lot of walking during a month-long business trip to Europe this fall. These boots fit the bill! They are super comfortable, lightweight and waterproof (water beads up on them), but they are also stylish. Several people along the way asked me where I had gotten these cool boots.

Finally found the one - I've been looking for a boot that I can walk to work in AND wear at work - a stylish boot that will still feel comfy walking 3+ miles in a day. I have ordered many and returned them all. But these are AMAZING - the height is high enough to be stylish but you don't feel like you are walking in heels. The slim calf actually slims your legs - doesn't make them sausage-y. Dirt & slush wipes right off. High shaft creates a very sexy look. True to size. I even put leg warmers over them for a little extra warmth in the Chicago weather and they looked so cute. WORTH EVERY PENNY!!!

I went up 1/2 size because that is what they had available in my shoe size and the fit is great, they fit well. These boots are so comfortable, feels like you are walking on air. They are totally stylish, I wear them with jeans or a skirt. I have skinny calf’s and I love the way they hug my calf and are not loose around the calf like other boots

I ordered this style, as well as La Canadienne Ivana, Rockport Harmony Heights, & Lassen Stasia to try on for a trip to Moscow in December. This was the pair I kept and I'm so glad I did, despite the high price tag. I found these boots to be true to size and very cute. They're extremely comfortable; the platform styling gives them the feel of flats more than of heels, but with the added height I like. The tread is excellent and they're waterproof, perfect for tromping around in snow and slush! The stretchy cloth upper makes them easy to roll up and pack, much more so than the 3 leather candidates. The downside to the cloth upper is that any kind of pant other than my silky dress pants, such as jeans, can't be tucked in without looking lumpy.The Lassens were far less expensive, but weren't nearly the quality of either of the La Canadienne styles. The Rockports are very cute, but ran quite small and felt really stiff; maybe after breaking in, they would be more comfortable. The La Canadienne Ivanas are very pretty (they ran smaller than this style). I did wonder if they would show a noticeable crease where they bend in the ankle area. This was a good purchase and I'll get a lot of use from these boots.

Have you seen my photos?! I LIVED in these practically all year long (3-4 months) but seriously. Holy heaven of boots. I love they can be dressy (that photo couldn't attach because I had too many photos in them..hilarious). They are WARM. Waterproof(for real..I never believe this but it's true). Honestly, one of the best boots I've ever purchased.

I have been eyeballing and drooling over this shoes for 2 years and finally broke down and purchased them... I love these! I get so many compliments and they are ridiculously comfortable. I have very thin calves and they are pretty snug (can't really wear with straight jeans) so I imagine someone with bigger calves might have issues with it. But these are SO COMFY!

Love these boots! I bought them in black microfiber. The fit is perfect. I put an arch support in them because I have arch issues.I do this with all of my shoes though. I teach preschool and I am standing for a lot of my day and I can wear them comfortably all day long. I have received compliments on these boots when I wear them. They look great with dresses and skirts. They are absolutely waterproof. I live in Oregon where it rains for the better part of the calendar year and the water just beads up and runs off these boots. My feet stay warm with tights on but not overheated. Thank you La Canadienne!

Fabulous! So comfortable, like putting on a pair of socks. I have bunions so I can be a hard fit but these are great. They do fall a little around the calves, but other than that they are perfect.

The best boot I have ever owned. I have had these for 10 years, in Boston, with frequent use. Always chic, and a quick wipe to remove salt and they look brand new. I am buying again as the sole/heel started to deteriorate/crack after 10 years of wear. These are pricey but well worth it.

I tried these boots immediately upon receipt a few times because I was worried that they gonna be hard to put on and remove since there is no side zipper... a few reviewers said that these boots were hard to put on and remove... but they went on easy and I was able to remove them pretty easily without any help... maybe they wont go with some thicker socks but they were fine with a regular pair of socks and stockings... they also felt pretty comfortable on my feet... again, I mostly wear flats so I was cautious about getting boots with wedge heels... but I strolled around my apartment and they felt comfy... So the same evening I wore them out... I walked around and danced for some 6 hours straight... and the boots did really well... they looked really great with a short skirt, did not hurt or overheat my feet one bit and kept me moving... as I arrived home in the morning and removed them, my feet felt tired but not from the boots... and again, I was able to remove them fast and without any help... the boots did their best to assist me in my overnight activities and I love them... and they are sexy AF... total score!

Wonderful boots. True to size. Perfect for outfits that need a more sleek look. Accentuates the curve of the ankle (they look more fitted than chunky. Perfect boot for wearing with a dress. If your calves are on the bigger end of the scale (like mine) they would not be suitable for wearing with pants in the boot.

My best friend had a pair an I absolutely loved them but expensive so I never bought. Well I finally broke down and worth every penny. I should have bought years ago instead of buying knock offs. These are classy and practical. Love them.

These are the best boots I've ever owned. I first bought this SAME boot over 12 years ago. I retired that pair this winter so I was thrilled to find the same style still being offered. They are comfortable, classic, and obviously last a long time. Do not hesitate to purchase these.

I'm short, under 5' and was worried they'd be too high, boy was I wrong they fit me like a glove and come just under my knee, I usually wear a 6 1/2 but I have another pair of LaCanadienne boots and they were a 6 so ordered the 6. I don't have any problems getting them on or off. So happy with my purchase. I love Zappos!!

I fell in love with these shoes the first time I put them on! I have been searching for casual black boots that fit tight on the calf so I could wear with skirts and dresses. I have smaller calves so this was not an easy task! These fit like a glove. They are stretchy material so they adhere to make calves and look great with skirts and dresses. The best part is they are waterproof and have great traction!

Love this boot! Comfortable and lightweight since it's not leather. The leg opening is fairly narrow. I am 5 ft tall so the size 5 was fine for me. May be too narrow in the leg for some.

These are great all weather boots for skinny calves! I have a hard time finding boots that don't look too big around my legs. La Canadienne's are great. I've worn these in snow, rain, mud, and they hold up well. Great everyday boot! I found it to be true to size. I'm still able to wear these over jeans, and they have a leg-hugging fit.

I love how comfortable and lightweight these boots are, so I'm sad to have to send them back; they just don't go well with my wardrobe. I'll probably go with something with a narrow heel or something more traditionally feminine.

I loved this boot and wished it would of worked out. I am a size 9 and have very skinny legs. It just looked too clunky on my feet.
