This is an extremely well made and comfortable boot. In fact, I picked it based on a comparison to 4 other boots from other manufacturer's (I figured if I'm going to drop in the range of $300 dollars a pair of boots better fit right and be well made). I compared logger style boots, with and without steel or composite toes, and waterproof qualities. Chippewa, TimberlandPro, Carolina, even Irish Setter. Bottom line, the Danner was superior in all ways, comfort, fit, material, workmanship. The only minor issue I found with the Danner regarding fit was heel slip - which was remedied with an aftermarket insert. I have an average width foot, maybe a little on the narrow side. The boot is rugged, and I expect it to hold up to a host of activities, from logging, construction, and even hunting. And thanks for carrying on the tradition of excellent quality and made in America - to some of us that still counts (a lot).

I've had the same pair of Danner boots for well over a decade, it's a name we trust up here in the PNW. Well made American made product.

Fantastic!
The absolute best utilitarian boot on the market! Stitch-down construction insures stability and durability from sole to bed. Vibram outsole has fantastic tack. Looking for a good work, hunting, sport, or hiking boot? Try out Danner, immaculately constructed.

Worth every penny -
This is my 2nd pair of rain forest boots and I don't think I will every buy another boot. Working construction I am on my feet all day and my boots are one of the most important tools I have. I don't think you will find better quality boot than a Danner. Made in America, gor-tex lined and all leather. Before I tried danner's I had a set of other brand boots that cost about $120, they lasted about 7 months and were not very comfortable after about 2 months. Danner take a few days to break in, but my last set lasted me 3 years. If I was not so hard on the leather I could have re-soled them and kept wearing them because they were still pretty comfortable. They may be cost more than other boots, but it cost less in the long run because they last so much longer. Keep them oiled and any one who is hard on there boots should be happy with this boot. The only bad thing I found about this boot is the gor-tex will start to leak after about 8 months. If you are in wet weather a lot it might be a good idead to buy a pair just for wet weather and a pair for every day use.

Worth the money, you will never regret the purchase -
I work construction and do a lot of hunting on the weekends. There isn’t a boot made that has the comfort and durability of a Danner. Excellent craftsmanship and made from materials that will last. I have purchased at least one pair of boots from about every manufacturer, none of them compare to a Danner.

Great Boots -
My closet holds 4 pair of Danners. The Rain Forest is my favorite rough country boot. It is comfortable all day, and looks good too.

I think I'd love this boot after adding a 3/4 insert for arch support and a little break-in. For me, It's narrow across the ball of my foot, but I'm a little wide there anyway.
Perfect boot for backcountry workers in the northwest.

While this boot is very comfortable, I'm not pleased with it. If I'm going to pay $300 for a pair of boots named rainforest, I expect them to be as waterproof as they claim. While I bought these back in November, I only started wearing them two months ago. Today was a very wet day here, and I was walking through knee high grass all day. I thought the bottom of my foot felt wet at the end of the day, but I thought, nah that's not possible. Well, when I took the boot off, the whole bottom of my right foot was wet. Therefore, I will not be buying Danners again, nor will I recommend them to anyone else. I should have stuck with the Matterhorns.
