Great shoe. I normally wear Florsheim 13 EEE since that's the only brand/size that fits me but this shoe was nice and wide. Much more comfortable than most of the Florsheim’s I’ve owned. Looks great too!

Nice for the price - These are good shoes, but they did take some time to break in (I have a some wide feet, too). The leather looks good and the sole isn't rubber which gives it a higher end look. I would give the shoe higher marks, but I have some nice $100+ K. Cole shoes and those look better than these. For the price, these are worth the money.

I finally found shoes I enjoy wearing - I just turned 18 and I've been looking for months now on different things to wear because throughout high school I've worn A&F clothing and flip-flops. I never liked tennis shoes because I think they look terrible with jeans. I recently discovered dress shoes and then found out about dress boots and these Zengaras were my first pair. I love them - they're comfortable and much more stylish than I thought they would be. I wear size 11 and got them in 10 1/2 due to the reviews I have read and they fit just fine. They do have a slight smell of gasoline as well, but nowhere near as strong as I feared it would be and it seems to be going away. I also ordered these shoes a bit after 1:00PM and they got here in less than 24 hours, so what Zappos said holds true. I love the shoes and I will definitely try Zappos again when I want to buy more.

Smell like fuel - Like many of the other reviews, I found that the shoes wreak of the smell of fuel. The first time I wore them a woman at my dinner table kept remarking that she smelled gas. It is starting to smell better but still have the smell. The look and feel are real nice for an inexpensive shoe and I will be real happy with them once the odor eases.

Great deal - Great shoe for the price. Very comfortable and breaks in quickly. Exterior wax does have a strong leather smell, but this will wear off quickly. You may need an insert if you do a lot of walking.

Smells bad, looks great! Shoes showed up with an awful smell of a gas and oil mixture. I called to exchange the shoes because of the smell, which Zappos was nice enough to do with no problem. New pair showed up with same smell but not as bad. I'm keeping the shoes because they look great with my suit! That's how nice they look. I hope the smell goes away.

Buffalo Tan - Excellent shoes. Extremely happy with the overnight shipping. Even though I ordered after 1 pm they still came in early. I get compliments for these shoes all the time, which look flashy as well as formal.

Seam ripped just after a year of low use. At least they were comfortable.

I really liked these boots, but almost immediately the loop on the back to pull the boot on broke. Also, they last less then 6 months. I need to replace them because the soles are worn.

Funky looking toe - The shoe fits a little big and the toe is too boxy. Not the right one for me.

Overpriced, under impressed - This shoes smells terrible! Shoe is very uncomfortable. Almost like walking barefoot on concrete. Leather looks like its plastic. Do yourself a favor, and go with a different shoe.

Nice Shoes, but the smell part is true - I read the reviews before buying the shoes and thought it couldn't be that bad... unfortunately the smell is pretty strong, and while I don't mind it, other people have smelled the heater trying to figure out "what's burning" while I'm in the room.

It's true, they have a very strong gasoline smell. I purchased these even after reading the many reviews commenting on the strong odor of these shoes. I took them out of their covers and aired them out for 2 weeks before wearing them, but there was still a strong odor. To me, it smelled of gasoline, but other people around me said they smelled cigarette smoke. It was very noticeable. I wiped them down with shoe cleaner and put neutral wax on them, which greatly reduced the smell, but 3 months after purchasing they still have a very noticeable odor. It's unfortunate because they look sharp and are comfortable. Also, I wear a size 13 in nearly every shoe but had to get a 14 to fit in these.

Sharp but loose - This shoe fits strangely: the toe is long and wide, so the front does not fit "true to size" but the heel does. It also is "breaking in" (creasing) very quickly. Looks great on; good value for price.

These are great shoes! They do smell, but that wears off quickly. This is my second pair of the same exact shoe. This time around I was not impressed! The Heel Loop broke after two months. And now the Seem split on the right shoe. I had the last pair for two years and had to replace them because I wore out the sole. I wore them everyday for work. This pair lasted nine months same wear and tear. NOT Impressed. But then again for the price I cannot complain that much. I am going back to Cole Haan, and Kennth Cole.

Got these the other day and they look better in the picture for sure. The flat flare is a little more than I wanted on the toe. I might have kept them though if the smell wasn't so ridiculous. It's from the rubber used on the sole and as you wear them and it's worn away I'm sure the smell is renewed. I don't know how much of that they have, but they need to get rid of it. It's bad. And definitely not worth it when there are similiar priced items that don't smell like a burning tire heap.

Surprised to see such high ratings for a shoe that everyone seems to agree smells like a chemical wasteland. I like the fit and cut of the shoe, but the chemical smell is overwhelming and it does not fade. I've owned these for a year now and tried multiple cleaning products and nothing helped.

Unsatisfactory Quality - I liked the look of theses shoes, and they fit reasonably well - a bit tight at first, but that is to be expected with new shoes if you don't want them sloppy later. I really wanted burgundy, so I had applied burgundy shoe cream, which was working well, but the first time I went to put them on for a special event, the pull strap on the left shoe ripped apart. I never actually got to wear them. I do not plan on buying this brand again. I have purchased several products from Zappos in the past and have always been satisified and will continue to buy from them, just not this brand. I will probably go ahead and order the Florsheims which were my other choice.

Impressive... I bought these forever ago (in tan) and just wore them recently and I must say they do smell funny, but it's not that serious. They do give the illusion of a pricy shoe at a bargain. I plan to buy them in black also. I've been interested in some Chelsea boots for quite a while and these piqued my interest. They cost half as much as Timberland and 1/4 as much as the better brands. For the price they're worth a try.

Good Shoe - Great shoe, just the rubber sole has a heavy odor.

Great Shoes, Little Comfort! I bought these shoes last year ('07) and within two days after ordering them I received them, very surprised! I've read other reviews mention a certain leather "smell" that they had, it did have it but it wasn't as strong as people made it out to be. The sole is very HARD (very uncomfortable) I bought insoles for them and feel better. Overall, a decent shoe for the price!

Nice boot but... Great look for casual or business, comfortable, outstanding price. It is true about the weird smell, I believe it has to do with some type of substance that is "painted" over the boot to make it shiny in appearance; after a couple of wearings in areas that were creased, the substance actually pealed off! I contemplated sending it back, however, because of I liked the boot so much, I ended up wiping of the pealings and cleaned the boot with a leather cleaner and then polished it with a black polish. Normally I wouldn't do this, but the price is so great and with the looks, comfort I decided to keep them. After the cleaning/polish it looks fine. The company really needs to stop with whatever "glaze" they put on the boot. That said, worth it because of the price.
