Beautifully styled bag but handles frayed and cracked at base within 4 months of use. Looks bad.

This is my third Hobo International Carlotta handbags. The pros are that these are beautiful handbags, with a gorgeous bright red cloth interior. It has two pockets inside and one large one on the outside. There is also room for the traditional size cell phone (someone needs to remind designers that smartphones are in style) and pens, etc.). Cons: They don't stand up to daily use. The dye has come off the straps and the bottom corners of the bag. This is after 6 months of use. If you're the kind of woman that changes handbags daily, you'll get far more usage than I do.

Straps end up cracking - I loved this bag when I first bought it--super sleek and stylish and great for organizing stuff...then about three months later, the leather on the straps started to crack where they naturally fall over, and the bag ended up looking cheap. I was very disappointed that this happened considering the price and the reputation of Hobo.

This was beautiful, perfectly organized and well made but the straps being rolled and hard meant they fell off my arms a shame.

This bag has great interior pockets for organization. The leather is beautiful to touch and very well matched. The color is true red and as shown. I like the longer straps for wearing on my shoulders. The style is great for business or casual. The front exterior pocket has a strong magnetic closure and the interior has a great clip for keys. Classy bag.

Great bag! I bought this bag in red years ago and wanted to replace it with a black one. It is basically the same bag but with improved features. Sturdier leather, better zipper, better pocket configurations and now with a magnet to keep the outside flap pocket closed. I'm a Hobo fan and it's worth mentioning Zappos is great, too -- fast and free shipping.

This bag is just perfect. I have been looking for something this stylish, with this much room for a long time. What I love is the simplicity. No heavy metal adornments or chains. It's big enough to fit a netbook or iPad into, as well as all the other essentials. Can't say enough about this bag.

I love this bag! It is just the right size for two glasses cases, a wallet, small make up bag and even a book! What more could I want? And it does all of this and still looks good.

I have had this bag for two years now and continue to love it. I will buy it again when it is available in red (hint, hint). Great design/placement of organization pockets. Just big enough to hold documents and a small water canteen and all the other things that end up in my purse without feeling loaded down or bulky.

Absolutely love this bag! Shiny black leather and gorgeous red lining. Holds everything! Functional yet classy and elegant. Hangs just right over the shoulder. The only possible glitch is that top zipper keeps sticking and I hope it doesn't break. Thank you Zappos for incredibly fast shipping!

Great business bag! This bag is fantastic for business, although not sturdy or large enough to carry a computer. The straps are long enough, even over a winter coat. It holds all my purse items and file folders- with lots of wonderful pockets to organize. I've gotten tons of compliments on the red color!

Awesome! This is the bag I've been looking for - beautiful leather, very well designed with lots of pockets in just the right sizes. And it arrived overnight!

Excellent choice for a sleek look while toting a lot... I am very pleased with this bag! It has tons of compartments, large and small. The leather is high quality, and most important to me-lightweight so it doesn't drag on my neck or shoulders. My only regret is that the shoulder straps aren't a little longer, but for most women this would fit.

Hobo Carlotta - I have two, black with hot pink interior and this tan color with the blue inside...My main reason for buying them was because of the linings. I CAN FINALLY FIND WHAT'S IN THE BAG BECAUSE THE LINING IS NOT BLACK. Yea!!! Since I've been using these bags, I no longer have the need to carry a pocketbook. Love them, but yes, they do smell when they first arrive, but it eventually dissipates with use.

Hobo Carlotta - This bag was exactly what I wanted! It's roomy and has just enough compartments.

Hobo Carlotta Handbag in Cognac - This is a great tote. It's very lightweight, but holds a lot. I was worried after reading another review that it might smell when it arrived. But was happy that it arrived smelling just like great leather. Very happy with my purchase!

Hobo International Bag - I would have loved a carmel or dark inside instead of blue, but the bag is great! Only problem is the horrible smell it arrived with. I couldn't touch it without coughing and have not been able to use it yet because of that.

I haven't had this long, so can't say how it will hold up, but have had other Hobo International bags that have been great. I bought it because I wanted a bag that I could easily put my iPad in, and it works. Love the red lining!

Love the handbag, size & style. Quality is great. I would like it even more if it were softer leather but I'm very happy with the purchase.

Just what I wanted. This is a wonderful bag--good-looking, lots of smart pockets, and deep enough to put a book or magazine in without having to leave the bag unzipped. The handles are long enough to fit comfortably over a bulky winter coat, and the leather has a lovely look to it. My only quibble is that the top zipper is hard to get started. It often gets stuck, and I haven't quite figured out why. The good news is that the bag is so deep and fits so securely under your arm that anyone looking to lift your wallet will have a hard time. Highly recommended.

This bag will hold a letter-size file folder, but any portfolio-type protective folders are just a smidgen too long so the top won't zip. Because the sides taper so sharply toward the top, it is also smaller than it looks.

Awesome purse. The best feature for me is the light-colored lining. I can see the contents so much better with a light-colored lining rather than the standard black! I also like how sturdy it is - it stands up nicely. Beautiful purse - worth every penny!

I have loved Hobo bags and been very happy with them. Lately, I have been a bit disappointed. This bag does not look worth the money. I think the color would not last and it would soon look worn. Not much longevity here to my thinking. It was also too deep for me. I'll try another Hobo bag. I love Zappos and am glad they carry them.

Let me tell you how much I love this Hobo bag! I had one previously that I purchased at a local department store and used it until I completely wore it out. So I decided to get another one and was thrilled to see that Zappos had it. I have an issue with the new one - they are using a new zipper. Sounds silly I'm sure, but the old one was small and black and worked just fine. They've replaced it with some new, industrial-strength, silver/chrome one that is just like shark's teeth! The zipper edges are sharp! Just be aware of this.

This is a beautiful bag. I bought it because I needed a black tote that stood straight and didn't slouch. The handles are the perfect length, the leather is beautiful quality and I love the front pocket. I read the reviews about the handles cracking over time. I change bags frequently so I didn't think it would be an issue for me, but just in case, I called Customer Service and asked if I could return it if the handles started to crack. They said it would be considered defective if that happened, so I could return it. (Of course, wonderful Zappos, I knew that would be their answer!) I kept all the original packaging, but I don't think I'll need it. I have carried it more than any other bag and no signs of cracking. Still beautiful and getting lots of compliments.
