I was looking for a sturdy boot to wear in the snow, that had good traction and kept my feet warm. These are great boots and keep my feet nice and warm while my husband and I are out playing with our son in the snow. This boot provides good support and has good traction in snow and on ice as well. I originally thought they'd be too stiff, but I find the support just right for me. These will also work well with snowshoes (they have that ridge at the back of the heel), which was a consideration also, since I'm getting into that. I am just shy of a true 8.5, but find the shoe is fine with just my thin Smartwool socks (just slightly on the roomy side). They will accommodate thicker socks too. If you are going to be out in the snow, I don't think you can go wrong with these.

I bought these boots for Christmas and love them! I wish I would have bought my true size; after reading reviews I went up 1/2 a size and regret it. I have to wear 2 pairs of socks to fit right which I don't need because they keep my feet so warm, living just south of Buffalo I need a good boot and this is it!

I ordered this boot on Wednesday night. Previously I had ordered another item on Monday. Both with regular shipping. However, Zappos upgraded my shipping for the boots at no extra charge and I just received it a couple of hours ago. Both items. I am so pleased with how fast it was shipped to my house. I read most of the reviews and ordered a half size up. I'm usually a 9 and I ordered a 9.5. The boot fits exactly how it should with a little extra room. I am extremely happy with this purchase. I will definitely be buying from Zappos in the future. I do not know how well they are going to do in the snow. I have a North Face jacket that keeps me extra toasty so I have no doubts in my mind that these boots won't live up to that same standard. Happy shopping.

I just received this boot and it is very good looking and comfortable. It has terrific ankle support.

I love these boots! 21 inches of snow and 4 hours of shoveling, and my feet were warm and snuggly the entire time! These boots are a little narrow, so I just wear a light sock; these boots are so warm there is no need for a heavy sock anyway. Gave 4 stars for comfort because they are a little stiff.

Love these boots. Very comfortable and not too bulky. The top is a little stiff but gets better with wear. My last boots were by Columbia and a size 7½. The North Face boots run smaller, so I ordered a size up - 8½ - and they fit great! Zappos was great to work with and may exchanging sizes easy.

The North Face McMurdo boot is great. I am a big baby when it comes to cold weather, but fortunately since receiving these boots I have not experienced cold feet. I did order up a half size as many have recommended and am happy that I did. The boots are well made and I would recommend them without hesitation.

These shoes are fantastic!!! They are comfortable, warm, and kept my feet dry during a rainstorm! Zappos, as always, was great. Superfast shipping and no problems. I got the shoes the next day!

I discovered my old boots were falling apart when it snowed in early December, and ordered these ASAP. Love the fast shipping. Since that first snow, we've had almost 3 feet more, and I wear these every day to and from the office and while running errands. They keep my feet very warm (the windchill yesterday was -30, but my feet were nice and toasty running errands after work). Initially, they were a little stiff, but they've loosened up and are very comfortable. I wear a 7 in every other shoe I own, and ordered these in a 7, perfect fit.

I am very happy with these boots. It's been below zero the last few days and my feet have been toasty warm. I have a wide foot, but I ordered these a half size big and they fit great with Smartwool socks. They have excellent traction, are totally waterproof and have a wonderful soft feeling against my shins/calves. Lightweight and almost cushy like a sneaker, I ran errands all morning with my 18 month old and didn't even notice I had them on. I only wish these boots were taller so my legs could be warm, too!

I received fast delivery and the boots are awesome! They keep my toes warm in cold Maine winters. Of course, they look great too!

Keeps your toes warm! Great boot. They have kept me warm through 20 below Wisconsin weather.

My Best Friends - These McMurdo boots, first pair purchased in hiking store are FANTASTIC! They are just amazing walking on ice...you still need to be careful, but they have nice stability. I wear them for Hiking, snowshoeing and shoveling and had to get a "Clean" pair for "fancy Dress"...you know out and about around town in nice winter clothes! They aren’t "pretty" but they are THE BEST!

The Boot for Feminine TomBoys! Just got these boots in the vintage white/toasty brown and absolutely love them! They are very comfy and supportive, warm and cute. I like the weight of the boot: makes me feel grounded. The color is very feminine along with the style of the fur collar, but the boot is just big and "clunky" enough for us tomboys. The best of both worlds. :)

McMurdo Women's Boot - The boot looks the same but the color was off a bit from what I expected. The boot is very true to size. I wear an 8.5m and my toe was to the edge so I had to go up a half size. The only reason I order shoes from this site is that the shipping is free both ways. It was so easy to print off the return label and send them back while I was waiting for the next pair to arrive.

Terrific Snow Boot!! I absolutely LOVE this boot! I read all the other reviews about it and fell in love instantly. Although, I would have to agree that it's a bit stiff in the ankle area, but it is still well worth the purchase! I am living in my first snowy season and this has kept my feet very warm and comfy! I can go stomp in our yard and build snowmen with the kids! It's great! This boot gets 5 stars in ALL areas! Thanks to Zappos for your terrific customer service and EXCELLENT delivery! Warm sturdy and cute - This boot is a great snow boot. I've had snow boots in the past that did not keep my feet, especially my toes, warm. These do, even wtih snow on top of the toe! They are light, too, which with my bad knees, makes them a really great boot! Cute, too!

Nice and WARM! My feet are normally frozen--with these boots they are nice and toasty, even in 16" of snow! I ordered a half a size up and they fit great. The first few times wearing them they hurt around my lower calf (where they hit), but have since broken in.

Excellent Winter Waterproof Boots - I have been quite pleased with the North Face McMurdo boot. They keep my feet nice and warm, especially paired with Smartwool socks. The couple of days with negative base temperatures and only 1 pair of socks, my toes did get cold, but adding a second pair of socks did the trick. The boots are slightly heavier than an average shoe, but I became accustomed to the weight with a couple days of wear. The traction on these boots is excellent as well. I like the look, too. I would heartily recommend these to people who want their feet warm and waterproof.

Great All-Around - Exactly what I was looking for, though I'll probably get an insert with a little more arch support. Really comfy, easy to slip on. Warm as heck and great tread. It doesn't feel like a bulky boot at all for the warmth provided.

Love these boots! Super fast delivery! I love these boots! The only issue I have is trying to drive with them on and I should have known better! They take a little getting used to when you're walking but it’s what I expected and the warmth and look of the boots make up for that! I choose a less expensive delivery option and expected the boots in 5-7 days. Well Zappos upgraded the option at no additional cost I ordered on a Saturday afternoon and received the boots on Monday!

Great warm boot - These seemed stiff at the back of my calf right out of the box; however, no problems when wearing them. They're a great height for lots of snow and very warm in 20 degree weather. Good traction and they're cute as far as snow boots go. An 11 fit my 10 1/2 size perfectly.

North Face McMurdo Boot - I love these boots. Very warm, need only very thin socks. I bought them a 1/2 size smaller than I normally wear. (6 vs. 6 1/2).
