Dansko clogs - The sizes are a bit tricky, but overall it is a great, comfortable shoe! I do a lot of walking in my line of work, and I have found the best pair of shoes for the job! The look is fantastic, and the comfort seals the deal!

I had the same problem as Anonymous on 2005-10-05. I ordered the Black Professional Oiled in the same size (38) as my brown pair, which fit great. They were on the large side, and especially one of them (I can't remember if it was the left or the right) was noticeably looser, it flopped around so much it was annoying. Sure enough, I got out a measuring tape, and the distance between the top of the back of the shoe and the top of the part over the instep was about 1/4 inch longer in the floppy shoe. I sent those back, Zappo's is great about returns, and I ordered another pair, thinking this pair was defective. Now these are the same size, but they are on the small size, and my left shoe is a little too tight when I wear thick socks. I'm starting to think that Dansko is having quality control issues lately. If you find a pair of shoes that fits, these are the greatest shoes in the world. You just might have to try a few first. These shoes have great arch support and are really comfortable. AND they are great "rain" shoes, keeping your feet dry on days when it's raining cats & dogs.

Elena - If you are looking for comfort this shoe is just great with the look of old matrona's shoes.You really forget how they look as you put them on for 14 hours a day.I only wish that Zappos would let customers know were the shoes are made, not just this one but all of them. It will help to make the right choice.

Great shoe, but a tad big - Great looking shoe- but then as a nurse, I LOVE my clogs. Only thing- they seem to run a bit big- have to wear a very thick sock to prevent my foot from moving more than I'm used to. No break-in period needed. Got them, and promptly flew across country (luggage, flights, connections etc)a couple of days later. Walked all thru Chicago for several days. Only thing, wish they were offered 1/2 size smaller- would get lots more. And Zappos got them to me in record time! wonderful company. Have told lots of friends about the site.

Almost perfect... I am pleased for the most part with this shoe. I am a medical student so I needed shoes that would be good for being on my feet all day for clinical (and still look good). Unfortunately, I cannot wear them for too long because my toes go numb. Other than that, they are comfortable. They are the first pair of shoes (other than jogging shoes) that I don't have to use band aids or moleskin. I am trying the Clarks Hannah shoes and see if they still do the same thing with my toes.

Dansko Prof Oiled - This shoe is really nice, and very comfortable. I am not my feet a lot at work and need to wear a closed toe and heel she, even when it's very hot. This shoe has been great so far in comfort and look. On the website it was recommended that I get a half size larger if I was in the 1/2 sizes (cause it only comes in whole sizes), but when I got it, it was too big and I had to return it for a smaller size.

Great clogs. Been wanting to try these shoes for a while now. I am a pretty solid 7.5, so I bought a 37 and a 38. The 37s were way too tight. The 38s were a little loose. I put a pair of Dr. Scholl's insoles in them, and now they are perfect, although they still need a little breaking in. I can't wear sneakers at work, and wearing heels kills my back and feet, so these shoes are a comfortable, yet professional, alternative. Love the brown oiled color I bought, and will get a black pair next.

Not bad for a first pair of clogs - I've had my Dansko Professional Oiled clogs for three days now. I'm still trying to break them in. The leather is tight and leaving marks on the tops of my feet. Also, the insteps are a bit hard. I am hoping that they will break in as I wear them. They do seem to alleviate my overall foot and back pain when I wear them, though, so that's a plus.

Dansko Professional clog review - A little tight in the area where the top of the shoe actually covers the top of the foot. Not enough space (for my foot) on the top of foot.

Great shoes - Well worth the money. Great for all day wear. I ordered 1/2 size up.

Wife was skeptical - Got these for my wife for Christmas. She's a size 8 normally so these should have been fine. However, to her they felt way too tight. Even tho I advised her this is a sturdy shoe made of high-quality leather which a break-in period would undoubtedly help, she was convinced they wouldn't work for her. While I was planning to return them, a friend visited who happened to be wearing the exact same size and model. I suggested she try her friend's Danskos and, lo and behold, they fit great! This helped convince her that they might after all fit fine after a period of breaking in. We kept 'em and now she wears and likes them a lot, with one caveat: at times they still feel uncomfortably tight across her right instep. We were thinking it would eventually loosen up, but another friend of hers reported the same problem with her Danskos that never did go away. So we plan to get them stretched a bit, and then they should be fine.

Great classic clog - I've been wearing my "forest oiled" Danskos for the past three weeks and have enjoyed them. They're handsome and comfortable. I recommend these clogs to anyone who wants sturdy, substantial footwear.

Boots better? I loved these shoes - they were very comfortable until my bum ankle twisted due to the top of the shoe being wider than the heel. Went down and broke my elbow. However, if you have strong ankles, these shoes are GREAT! Does Dansko make lace-up boots? :~)

Good for the back! I have scoliosis and often have lower back pain if I do a lot of standing or walking (I work in a chemistry lab). I can't even tell you how great Danskos have been! I can wear these shoes all day, and my lower back DOES NOT HURT. I bought a pair of the open backed clogs and loved them so much that I just got pair of the closed backs clogs. I love Danskos! I highly recommend them if you have lower back pain!

Great Shoe - I have flat feet and stand on my feet 8 hours a day. These shoes have great arch support. I would have given them a 5 star, but the bottom of my toes are a little sore at the end of the day. I have talked to people who said that my foot will mold to them and then they will not bother my toes. So I am hoping that will be the case. I find these shoes rather stylish for their purpose and they clean up real easy.

This is my third pair of these shoes - however, this pair was very tight across the top of my foot (which my other ones weren't) and I am going to have them stretched. I've heard that they are hand made and that accounts for the variations. I'm sure once they've been stretched that they will be as comfortable as my other pairs.

Ow, Ow, Ow but I love them. I normally wear a 7-1/2, and was told that I needed a size 38. They felt a little snug but was told they would "give" a little after wearing. I've worn them now for 4 days out of 5 this week and my feet are killing me. I love the look. I have wanted these shoes for 3 years. Finally came up with $110.00 to buy them but wish I would have argued with the saleswoman longer and insisted on a size 39. The top of my foot had a ridge across it from the shoe. I do not have fat feet. They are rather thin feet but these shoes, even with stocking type knee-highs are too tight. Wondering if they stretch after a while. If I could exchange them, I would but they have been worn. If I get another pair, I will get a size 39, not a 38.

Dansko Professional Oiled - I like my shoes very much, but they do require some breaking in. When I first got them I thought they were too small; but then I tried on a pair of the next size larger and they were way too big. So I kept the shoes and am in the process of breaking them in. They still feel tight in the toes but others who have these shoes tell me to be patient, that they will stretch out and be the most comfortable pair of shoes I'll own. I'm not at that point quite yet, but they are getting better. I love the look of them and hope I'll get to the point where I can wear them everyday.

Good ones! I work in TV production so the thought of nurses shoes didn't even cross my mind. I run around making things happen and my feet always seem to suffer. Until one day someone mentioned Danskos. I researched and investigated these 'proffessional' shoes. I found out that doctors, nurses and even chefs swear by them. So why not try them. I'm sure they are on their feet me then I. So I went to Zappo's and bought them, which was easy as pie. I love them! They feel a bit heavy until you get used to them, but your feet will thank you as you round your 14th hour of work. I say get 'em. 3 out of 4 doctors and 1 TV producer agree, Danskos are good ones to invest in.

4 star rating - I am a bartender and I wore these shoes to work and was pretty happy. Usually most shoes take some sort of breaking in but these required very little. My only complaint was that they are a lttle tight at the top of the foot. I had a little blistering the first day but the next time I wore them I had no problems. Also they were very good on support and cushioning especially since I usually wear sneakers to work. I love them with pants but most of my bartending shift requires a skirt. These are not my first choice to wear but they are much better than the "belindas'" that I had purchased. I see myself wearing them 2-3 times a week out of the 4-5 shifts that I work.

Feel too tight... I am a true size 8 but have a wide foot. Lately I've been buying 8.5's in other shoes for the extra width space. So, after reading a suggestion about going "up" a size for the half sizes in Dansko's, I bought a size 39 (women's size 9). I was extremely disappointed to find that they feel really tight to me. The length is good, but the part that goes across the top is really tight. They also feel narrow to me. I am a server and my boss wants us all to wear Dansko's. I wish they fit better. Otherwise I think I'd like them a lot.

Feels true in the toe box, but is bigger in the heel and overall wider than I need. I normally wear a 9-1/2 to 10 and the 41's were close, but not perfect. The inner support rubbed on my arch for the first 3 days, but that seems to have disappeared. Overall, I'd give this shoe a 4-1/2 because of its looks (I got the blueberry oiled, and the blue is very dark so it could go with black clothes) and comfort, which is now starting to become apparent after the first week. I'm on my feet 50+ hours a week as a full time clinical instructor and a part time ICU nurse, so they're getting a workout. Will be buying another pair.

I am very pleased with the Dansko clogs. I work in a hospital and am on my feet all day long. My calves no longer have the chronic pains in them during the night when I am trying to sleep. I think the arch support is the perfect height.

I love this shoe! but... I really love this shoe, but there is one thing that affects me. It’s kind of weird, but after I take them off, the back part of my left hip starts to hurt really badly, like a nerve is being pinched. I have no idea what it would be, but I notice it only after I wear these shoes. I hope it will soon go away.

They run small! Great shoes, but they run smaller than advertised.
