Just a good solid hiking shoe. Roomy toebox. Greater value. Feels solid enough for a 2 or 3 day trip with 50 lbs pack.

Very comfortable. Fit felt true to width and length. Only drawbacks are the top two speed lace eyelets/hooks which can snag on things occasionally. The sole is a soft rubber compound and will wear out fairly quickly.

Great Value - Good boot for medium duty. Did not want or need a big heavy duty leather boot. Boot is lightweight, but sturdy for household chores and light to medium hiking. The tongue could be a little wider toward the top to keep debris out.

Value for money - I like to walk a lot around town and need a shoe that will support me and my often too heavy back pack. I had ground two pairs of EMS walking boots into the dust. I tried Zappos, which is convenient as EMS and REI are miles away from me. The fancier boots were uncomfortable, but the Hi-Tec Outlander is comfortable. It is a little too heavy as a boot; you can feel it a little too much. It is also not exactly beautiful, which does not bother some but does attract comments. Above all, this is value for money.

Great Lightweight Walker - I've put maybe 10 miles on these boots since they arrived. I think they're a very good value in a lightweight hiking boot. They're very light, yet they still feel pretty substantial, which makes me think they'll last awhile. And they're really comfortable. If I still backpacked like I did when I was younger, I doubt these boots would be suitable for those 30-40 mile backcountry trips, but for day hikes and street walking, they're perfect.

Good hiking shoes - I got them to replace my hiking boots that I had completely worn out. I'm very happy with them.

Great Day Hiker - I've rated it four stars as it's NOT a backpacking or wilderness trekking boot for rough, rugged wilderness terrain or climbing that demands hardness and stiffness for support plus durability on sharp rocks. They're also not rated as waterproof. That said, it IS a great, lighter weight boot for day hiking on trails with perhaps some modest climbing -- for which its foot/ankle support and comfort are excellent. These required zero break-in, a first for me, and they breathe quite well. All at a superb price compared to other boots I've found in its class and I'm well pleased!

Hi-Tec Outlander - Bought a pair of Hi-Tech Outlander hiking boots for my brother...He has a wide foot, can be difficult to fit, but he really loves these boots, says they're very comfortable...I bought a half size larger than his usual size and they fit perfectly with a heavier hiking sock...

Hi-Tec Hit - I bought this shoe for my spousal unit. He said the shoe wears as expected. He is very familiar with the Hi-Tec brand and is happy with them. I must add that he is very difficult to please (who would know better than me?) and hates shopping in malls, etc. Now he has discovered Zappos! Yay!!!

Not durable - These fit well, are sturdy and comfortable. They appear to be great value for money, but they have only lasted 4 months. The heel is starting to come off the right boot and both heels have worn down fast.
