I have always worn Birkenstocks. I bought this pair for my 11 year- old son (Birkenstock sizing is unisex) because he has been getting recurrent ingrown toenails. He loves them! He says they are the most comfortable shoes he has ever worn and he has not had an ingrown toenail since he started wearing them. The habana oiled leather was more expensive, but I wanted him to have a pair that he really likes, and it is a beautiful finish, even after being waterproofed!

Love these shoes! I own about six pair of Birkenstocks, and these are my new favorite.

I love these shoes! They are the most comfortable shoes I have ever had! They fit perfectly and look great. I was looking for a shoe that alleviate knee and back pain, this shoe fits the bill. I've worn their sandals in the summer but this is the first clog I've tried, and they are just as awesome as the sandals. They're pricey, but worth it.

Fantastic, don't want to take them off. I had some Birkenstock sandals years ago and decided fashion-be-damned, I'd get some comfortable shoes for work because I'm on my feet a lot. Turns out they look pretty cool, even with a suit, and I'm getting lots of comments. Highly recommend them and Zappos had the best prices and service. Awesome.

The best shoes on the planet! This shoe is the most uncomfortable shoe for about a week or two. ONCE you have formed it to your feet, it's the most comfortable shoe you will ever have. I work in the medical field, I’m on my feet all day, these can pass for clogs style shoes underneath scrub bottoms, but have the back of the shoe required by OSHA. I HIGHLY recommend this shoe to those people who like COMFORT as well as a nice style. I HATE pointy shoes, or narrow square end shoes. These have a nice rounded toe that FIT and LOOK GOOD around a foot. Look no further. I've had these shoes for over a year now...I'll never buy another brand.

Fit was fine but leather was too stiff and tongue long enough to rub the top of foot and leg. Having to return.

Width doesn't seem to apply to people with high insteps. I hoped that the startup on this shoe would give me instep room. It doesn't. I can't understand why shoe manufacturers don't allow for sizing that addresses instep height. This show looks great for my use, but I can barely get my toes into the opening.

These shoes do not run large. A little wide yes. Ordering down a size will cause the arch support to fall too close to the ball of your foot. Order your regular size and deal with the fact that they don't fit the same way as your athletic or dress shoes. They're not supposed to. Good comfortable shoes that have excellent arch support.

First off, I'm a fan of Birkenstock shoes. But the thickness of the leather on this particular shoe is thinner than I would have expected with no interior lining. The sole with no attached heel is thinner than the my other Birkenstock shoes. It is more like an enclosed sandal.

These are not pretty shoes. Even the narrow is wide. But my feet never ever hurt after wearing them no matter how much walking I do. I wear them to work with dress pants wide legged enough to cover them up for the most part. They aren't my style, but for the comfort I'm willing to compromise. I bought a second pair so I'd have back up.

Too big - These shoes have molded insoles that make them limited to fit. They are about a full size bigger than normal European sizes.

The foot bed felt like the right size, but the upper is too big. I have lots of Birkies and this is the first one I have ever had a fitting problem with.

I could not love these anymore than I do! I’ve been wearing Birkenstocks for almost 40 years and I can’t believe I’ve never bought the London before. I opted for the suede and got the light color and it’s beautiful. The shoes are a little loose, but feel very similar to a clog. They were a little stiff initially, but within a day they already started to mold to my feet. I love them. I did buy some suede spray and will spray them when it comes just to protect the color. Incredibly pleased. Excellent arch support and typical Birkenstock comfort.

These are so comfortable. At first they are stiff and a little tight across the arch. I conditioned them with leather honey; a lot of black dye got on my rag, but they softened up and didn't look as ashy as before. The tongue was pressing against the front of my ankle, so i spent 10 minutes bending it up and massaging it, then left it curved up under the strap for a couple hours. The strap was also stiff and squeaky but stopped squeaking after I bent and massaged the straps. These have a lot of toe space. These are my first pair of Birkenstocks. I read about fake birks and wondered, but Zappos is an authorized Birkenstock dealer. So even though the shoes were wrapped in plastic bags and had leather shedding off the straps, and they didn't have the leather symbol stamped on the footbed nor numbers stamped under the buckle, these are still high quality shoes and look genuine. lol.

I have owned several pairs of Birkenstocks over the years, mostly sandals and a pair of Boston clogs - all size 39 regular foot bed. The Boston clogs were suede and really stretched out to sloppy fit. Re. the London shoe, I could barely get my foot into the 39 and purchased size 40. It feels a little loose, I'm breaking in the beautiful leather walking around the house and deciding if they are too big. Otherwise perfect as usual. I plan on wearing with socks...or barefoot.

I wear a 40. Based on reviews, I ordered a 41. It was too big. Returned for a 40. It was hard to get my foot in. I unbuckled and wore barefoot for 2 days in the house. Day 3 Thin socks and then medium weight socks. They are buckled in first hole amd I love them. They become better each time I wear. I did massage the right arch on mine by pushing down a bit. Now they are amazing. Medium width foot. Plantar fasciitis and diabetic. Love them.

Omg these are great. Be patient. 2 days later I was dancing in them. Lol I had to work on the right arch.. it was a tiny bit higher so I stood on it w my heal...then massaged the cork w my thumbs...not a deal breaker for me since cork gives. I love these. I had originally gone up a size per reviews. No. I finally ordered my regular size 40. They felt right barefoot...and I knew they'd give...after 3 days I'm wearing a mid weight sock and have now buckled them in the first hole. I unbuckled to work them in. So happy and appreciate Zappos' patiene w me. This one worked and worth the price. Buy them and give them a cha.ce, but make sure they fit right barefoot. I did that w another pair...broke them in barefood since everything lined up w my feet and the shoe (Birkers you know what I'm talking about).. Happy girl.

I needed to go up one size for proper fit. These are comfortable with or without socks. Quality leather and workmanship.

I haven't had any Birks for twenty years. I used to be a Birkenstock sales rep but had worn them before that job. Break them in as you would contact lenses and after thirty days, not only are you 'in', but you're hooked. So glad to be back in them! No hiatus ever again.

I needed a closed back shoe for comfort. This shoe fit the bill perfectly! Very happy with fit, quality, and appearance.

Initially I was a little worried about how tight there were as my feet have flattened out over the years and I have an dropped arch in my left foot. It took a few wears but they stretched out to perfection and the arch support has done amazing things for my foot. Brought the inflammation down and reduced the pain I have in my second toe due to arthritis. Love love love them!

my husband has now worn the soles out on these! LOL he loves them sooo much.. sad that the amount of walking he does at work is too much for them to handle..but he doesn't care wants another pair! for a big guy (6'5" 290lbs...its hard to find truly comfy and supportive shoes..ill buy him a new one every year if he wants!

When it comes to practical, comfortable and well-made shoes, over the years since the Sixties I've always had a pair of Birkenstocks at hand. This is my first pair of Londons and I can already predict they will become my "go to" shoes for daily wear. Happy to have them!

I love these shoes! I bought them to wear to work; I’m in healthcare and work shifts that require me to stand on my feet for 12 hours. They are not slip resistant, but the arch support and general feel is excellent.
