My husband loves these. He wears 12.5 and the size 45 N fits him well. They are lightweight, sleek, and pass for business-casual wear. Great for people working at standing desks.

I have tried gel inserts and they did not help with the pain in my arches. I saw a foot doctor and he recommended cortisone shots, orthotics, sound wave treatment, and laser treatments. The shots I heard had side effects, so that was not an option and the others were very expensive ranging from a couple hundred to over a thousand. A friend recommended Birkenstocks. These did the trick on Day 1 and I have been wearing these for over a month and love them.

Earlier this year I bought my first pair of Birkenstock sandals and fell in love with them immediately. I wore them almost every day in the summer and as the colder weather started to approach I knew I would have to figure out a way to wear Birkenstocks year round. Obviously, the socks and sandals look is not an option (this particular sartorial choice is only acceptable for eccentrics and German hikers). I was aware of the clog design but that's a style I just couldn't bring myself to embrace (they can be attractive on ladies, but on guys, not so much). Luckily, I discovered Birkenstock makes a shoe with a fully covered heel. Just what I was looking for! I ordered them despite the fact that the London's initially seem to be a rather ridiculous looking shoe -- indeed, my wife snickered a bit when I first put them on -- but they actually appear quite stylish when worn with long pants or jeans. The comfort level of the footbed is equal to that of my sandals and I found the manufacturing of the upper portion to be excellent. After my second pair of Birkenstocks in less than a year, I'm happy to consider myself a loyalist to the brand and look forward to purchasing many more in my lifetime.

This is my third pair of Birks and I love them, though not as much as the Basel. They seem a little pricey but so far I'm happy with them. I wear a 37 in all Birks and haven't experienced any rubbing or foot sweating problems as other reviewers have described. They appear to be more sturdy than the other Birks I own. The Keen Jasper is still my favorite ever.

I own a size 43M in the Milan. The Milan's fit perfect with my toes coming nearly to the end, so I didn't know if I should get a 44 in the Londons. I called Birkenstock and they said whatever you get in the Milan, you should get with the London. So I ordered the 43 and my toes pushed in the end of the shoe, and then had to order the 44, which felt just right. So either the Londons are slightly smaller or they don't have enough room in the toe to wear exactly the same size as the Milan, and Birkenstock (in California), was incorrect. Having some toe room, obviously, is great with socks, as I plan on wearing these in the colder months. So like someone has stated, go up a size from your current open-toed sandals. The buckle on the Londons give the shoe a perfect fit with no movement whatsoever with your feet in the shoe. Highly recommended. Weird look, super comfort - These are even weirder looking in person than on the website. You may feel uneasy being seen in them, but you won't care. If you have wide feet and high arches, you won't want to go without them. These are typical Birkenstock comfort and fit. They feel very light on your feet. As with any leather shoe, they take awhile to break in. After that, they are perfect. Compared to typical shoes, Birkenstocks feel bigger and wider. Don't go smaller than your normal size. Your foot will like the unrestricted feeling. Beware, you may not want to wear normal shoes again.

Another great Birkenstock - I've owned my first pair of London's for over 5 years now and after the soles have been replaced 3 times they're still going strong. They run true to Birkenstock size (I'm a 44N) but with some fore-warning they do need adequate break-in time. The leather is good quality thick leather, but some saddle soap will help you. Extremely helpful in inclimate weather for all of those Boston wearers. If you wear a normal size width in regular shoes I would suggest getting a narrow size so it doesn't feel like your feet are "swimming" in the shoes. Order these and you won't feel let down.

The BEST shoes I have ever worn! I've had the same pair of these for 17 years, and I've worn them probably 4 days out of every 7, replaced the soles and heels countless times and the inner cork once, and they are still going strong. I have never worn a more comfortable shoe. They are a little on the dorky side in appearance, but I love these shoes more than any other!

The perfect shoe - These are very stiff at first. I wore them in my house on the carpet for 30 minutes for four days (on the advice of the Zappos Comfort specialist) and could immediately feel the cork insole start to conform to my feet. The leather started softening too, so I decided to keep them. After two weeks, they are the most comfortable pair of shoes I've ever owned. The leather is soft and pliant and the cork insole provides very, very good arch support. They never stink for me, they don't fall off my feet like Danskos do, and I can walk in them all day. I settled on the Birkenstock London after trying seven other pairs of shoes from Zappos. It was worth the trouble.

Great shoe for long days on your feet!!! Third pair of London's I have owned and have loved them everytime! As a chef, I can spend anywhere from 10-16 hours on my feet and these continue to help keep my feet and legs fresh. They also have a considerably longer lifespan than many of the other so called kitchen shoes I have tried. Now that I have found a place that carries my size, I swill never stray again.

Very Comfortable! I am very happy with my Birkenstock's. I have had problems with my feet recently. I had to find shoes that offered support and comfort. These are the best!

The Birkenstock SHOE - I've been waiting a while to get these. If you are the slip on slip off type these are not for you. You must undo the buckle and then do it up. No slip on slip off here. I'm sure in time the buckle will ease up and become easier to use. On the other hand the support is great and standing for a long time is no problem. I like that the cork is not exposed to the weather - So, I hope to have these for a long time and wear them often.

Best shoe ever! This shoe not only looks good but is comfortable and last longer than any other shoes I ever owned. This is the second pair I have bought but I go through shoes in 2 months time and I wore my first pair everyday for over a year. I liked them so much that I bought another pair just like the first pair.

The best shoes I've ever owned ! I bought my Birkenstock Londons 15 years ago. It is only on rare occasions, when I must wear another pair of shoes (for dress, for example) that my feet suffer. With my Londons on my feet always feel like they are on vacation. I wear them almost every day and have since the day I bought them. When the bottoms get worn I simply take them to my favorite shoe repair place and get new heels and/or soles at a fraction of the cost of a new pair. My Londons are almost like best friends. They always take good care of me. I keep them polished and they always look new. I have suffered many foot injuries throughout the years, broken bones, neuromas and even a ruptured Achilles tendon. In spite of it all, my Birkenstock Londons always feel beautifully comfortable. They are the greatest value in footwear that I know!

The best! I own three pairs of Birkenstocks. I own a pair of Bostons, a pair of Milanos and of course a pair of Londons. The London is the best of all three by far! Not much too look at and a little stiff the first couple of days after first purchasing, but once you get it broke into your foot, it is the best shoe and the most comfortable shoe. I am an elementary teacher and I am on my feet a lot. I can wear the London all day long, and even into the night and my feet feel great at the end of the day! I would recommend these to everyone no matter what you do! Trust me they are the best shoe ever made! When these wear out, I will definitely get another pair! (Which will be years from now as Birks last forever!) Zappos has awesome service too! I shop with them all the time!

Back relief - Before I received these shoes my back would bother me a great deal when I shopped or was on my feet a lot during work at home or office. The next time I shopped wearing these shoes I had not one incidence of pain all day. Unbelievable! Although I still have some pain if I'm standing in one spot too long I think these shoes are great!

I love these shoes!! I have worn Birkenstocks for many years. My most recent pairs have been Boston’s but I decided I wanted the effect of a full shoe. The London’s are great!

So comfortable! These are such comfortable shoes, a little stiff to begin with before the leather breaks in, but a truly comfortable supportive footbed right away. Would definitely recommend this shoe. And Zappos were so fast at shipping them out! Very good service and product.

Amazing shoes! When I wore them for the first time, the heel was a little uncomfortable. This lasted only for a day or two, and now I literally never take these off my feet, they are extraordinarily comfortable-- and great for inclement weather.

Great -as most Birks - If you've worn the Birkenstock Boston and liked it, then you'll likely love this shoe. Gives the comfort of the Boston with the feel of a real "shoe."

Love this London shoe - I am on my feet eight hours a day in the hospital kitchen. I have gotten Birkenstock shoes with ties, but finally I got the London, it is just like putting on my clogs and working in them all day. You pay more for Birkenstocks, but in the long run they are worth it.

Most excellent pair of shoes! I have been wearing Birks for several years and decided to get a fully enclosed shoe. This shoe felt great from the start. Love that Zappos has a narrow width, as my other Birks seem to be a bit sloppy on the foot, but now that I got the narrow width these fit to a tee. I listened to the other reviews about the shoe being a half size larger than marked and followed that with ordering. Was a good choice. Thanks Zappos!

God's Gift To Feet!! I normally take a 10 in ladies and I purchased a 40 and the fit is fine. I spend all day walking on concrete floors and my feet are always happy when I get home! When they say cork is anti-fatigue they are 110% right!

The leather softens when used for a few times. Signature Birkenstock comfort and quality. Would recommend wearing socks during break in period.
