Ordered a half size large than my actual fit to allow use with heavier socks in sub freezing temps. The length was perfect, and the inside room excellent for my purpose. I wore the boots for a short while, and found them light weight, and comfortable, with no hard contact points. The waterproofing appears to be first rate, and the construction heavy enough to survive tough use. The boots are not unattractive given their purpose, although the lugged sole appears to be a bit of overkill at first glance. No doubt they'll provide plenty of traction in snow, mud, and slick surfaces. Pleased with the purchase so far, and suspect they'll last a long time.

Felt a width to big, I would get a width size smaller if I order them again.

Yes I would recommend the shoes only tell them to go a width smaller.

This is an update after wearing these for about a year. My main complaint is the comfort from standing for long periods of time. After about six hours my feet start to really hurt. After ten hours I can barely stand anymore. Everything from my feet to lower back is in a lot of pain. I actually have trouble getting out of bed the next day…my joints are really sore. These shoes have been like this since I bought them, but it was not as bad and recently seems to be getting worse. I have tried several inserts and they do help, but not much anymore. The fit around my foot is perfect (I wear a 12 5E). If it was not for the standing comfort these would last a few more years, but I just cannot take it anymore and now am searching for something else. In my previous review I mentioned they are not very good for traction on a slightly slippery floor, I would like to emphasize this and say they are terrible. Working on factory cement floors they are very slippery when the floor gets a little wet. If this had better traction and were more comfortable when standing for long periods of time it would be the perfect work shoe for me.

My 3rd pair, they seem to hold up well in the work I do and are comfortable. Can't find anything locally on the shelves, and it is sent to my door step. A great deal!

Many miles of backpacking. For back country, this boot is not sturdy enough. But for decent trails, great. FYI: Propet 9.5-3E is equiv of New Balance 10-4E (at least for me).

The boots look and feel great. Whoever else mentioned that the laces were too long, you were right. Way too long! (Better than too short!) I enjoy them.

I've had these boots for 6 months now. They have held up well. They were very comfortable from the start. If the tongue were smaller they would lace up easier and the shoelaces needed to replaced. But other than that they have been good boots for the money. Ordered them and got them the next day. Great service Zappos.

Cheap shoelaces needed to be replaced. If tongue was smaller they would be easier to lace up. Very comfortable and durable though, and the price is right.

Service was great and quick delivery. I bought these boots several months ago and they are fine, fit like a glove. So I bought another pair recently, same boots but they changed the part number. The left boot feels too big and my foot is loose inside it. So either my left foot shrunk (not likely, the old boots still fit fine) or the quality may have slipped.

I will try these boots again when the time comes.

Cliff Walker - Lacing to last hook caused discomfort, so came down one from it. Shoe seemed longer than size 9, although width (3E) is excellent. I'm impressed w/value, shoe quality offered @Zappos.

OK - I purchased this hiker because of the size (I have a 5E width. I am very limited to what will fit). The size feels a little larger than stated. Comfort level...it’s not a hiking boot, but comfortable for general wear. (A good "gel" sole solves the problem.) I work in cold storage and the boot is fair, for warmth. After several weeks my overall rating would be 7 (scale 1-10).

Good with orthotics, but- Works good with orthotics. Good support. Cushy feel, but it doesn't breathe. My feet feel cold and wet. Probably will take a hole punch and make some holes on the side so there is some air circulation.

Good solid shoe - A good buy! They were comfortable, although a little stiff, right out of the box. They offer good support, and are solid without being too heavy. I'd buy them again.

Great value, probably the best shoe at the price point - The shoe fits and I've certainly paid more for less comfortable shoes. But ... the shoe is bare bones and the foot bed seems nearly flat. I have wide feet and most shoes (even if labeled EE or EEEE) hurt with normal wear. These don't. I can wear these all day w/o discomfort. OTOH I wouldn't go hiking in these.

Comfy walker - This boot is very comfortable. Nice weight. It seems to be good for working/standing on concrete as well as outdoor terrain. I will buy more.

Good price, good boot. I needed a work boot for my security job which entails a fair amount of walking. The boot was comfortable right out of the box; it looks nice with black slacks or jeans. It doesn't have all day comfort an insert would probably do the trick. I would buy this boot again although not for work.

Workin' in the Woods - Very comfortable, roomy boot right out of the box. Great for my very wide and high instep foot! No break-in required. I'm a forester and am using these boots for work in the field in all weather conditions. So far have held up well to snow & wet conditions. Very comfortable for hours of walking in woods and over other somewhat rough terrain. Found it a bit difficult to lace up with laces in retaining loop on the tongue. Took them out and that works better for me. Decent looking and good value for waterproof leather work boots. Definitely would buy Propet boots again if these hold up.

A couple problems - Love Propét. My favorite shoe is no longer made. I bought two pairs and should have bought a case. This shoe felt like it was a half size too big. I like wearing it, but I'm cautious with hiking in them. The lacing is always a bit of a production as well. Don't wear them if you're shopping for clothes; you'll add an extra fifteen minutes just putting the shoes on and off, but they’re real good wide width shoes. I like the brand.

The shoes felt wider than I thought, normally take a size 12, I ended up returning two pairs until I settled with a size 11. Very little arch support. I was able to correct this problem with arch supports.

EEE - I have wide feet, and shopping for shoes is usually a big pain in the butt. On Zappos shopping was easy. The Cliff Walkers are very comfortable; I wear them to work, and for hiking and my feet are happy. The laces are too long. I cut them shorter. Lacing is much easier now. I like these and would say get your self a pair.

Sizing - Overall a comfortable shoe, when sizing go 1/2 size smaller. Work in a wood shop, great traction on dusty floors, yet I don't pick up pebbles and bring them in the house as the sole has relatively small treads.

Great for walking on cliffs - Shoes were just the ticket for walking around in wet weather. Only negative was that my feet tend to sweat more in these shoes. All told, I’m very satisfied.

Good, sturdy, stylish boot. I bought these for my new winter boot. They have good traction for the Colorado snow and gravel. They keep my feet warm and dry. Propet has a perfect size for my big and wide foot. 13 5E. The fit is near perfect, hugs my foot just right, not too tight, not too loose.
